Chanel's Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour SPF 15 PA++ is due in the United States in August. The advertising campaign will feature Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchenin in her first campaign as the face of Chanel.
Les Beiges is (are?) said to be a skin-perfecting powder. Light and natural, they will offer the ultimate transparent, smooth, soft and natural, easy-to-apply powder with a translucent sheen. There will be only five shades available - maybe seven, depending on your country.
A hybrid powder (depending on your
skin tone and the shade selected), Les Beiges were inspired by Gabrielle
Chanel’s passion for freedom - a new makeup approach for “simple,
intuitive, and natural beauty.” From what I've read in multiple sources, Les Beiges are not foundations for anyone who wants more than the lightest veil of coverage. They can serve as bronzers, contouring powders, or finishing powders - and offer an all-over glow. Les Beiges represent a new, versatile concept for Chanel, which has a "Notify Me" sign-up at its Web Site.
The ingredients are said to include a purifying protective cream containing white roses and a cotton composite plant cell extract that will protect the skin from environmental pollution while soothing and calming the skin. Shea butter will offer softness, while the UVA and UVB factors will help prevent fine lines and sun spots. The powders are lightly scented with Chanel's iconic gardenia.
As usual, other countries got Les Beiges first. I believe they are already available in Canada and Great Britain. If you go scounting around the Web, you'll find a few reviews. I'm hoping our friends in Canada can tell us what you think. If you've tried Les Beiges, please leave a comment and let us know.

Les Beiges has been available in Mexico for over a month now. I got #20, which seems to be the lightest shade available here, since #30 was too peachy for my skin -my skin is like a perfect match to Nars Punjab foundation if that makes sense. I think the darkest we got here is #60.
It has a nice finish, however if you're looking for oil control you must look elsewhere. I think this is better for normal to dry skin. I have combo skin and love it on weekends when my skin is more normal, but on weekdays will switch to Nars Light Reflecting powder since my skin goes more oily.
There is also a cute kabuki part of this collection. It has synthetic bristles and it's the softest you can find -if Tom Ford or Hakudoho isn't available where you live.
Hope this is helpful for someone.
Buy quickly! The paler shades have been sold out in the UK for months and I am now debating whether to join a waitlist just to try them.
I've read a number of reviews about Les Beiges and am actually looking forward to giving the product a try. Last year, I wore Lumière D'Artifices Beiges as a very light bronzer and loved its natural, real-skin glow. But, as the last bit of summer faded from my complexion, it became too dark and I had to reluctantly put it away. If Les Beiges, with its variety of forgiving shades, is anything remotely like it, I'll be a happy camper. From the reviews I've read, it sounds like Les Beiges will give a healthy and subtle glow when worn as a finishing powder. I must admit, I'm still confused by Lisa Eldridge's Chanel tutorial in which she buffed it on like a powder foundation. Confusion aside, Les Beiges and the new cream blushes (!) are the Chanel items that have piqued my interest :-)
Thank you, Anne, for your take on it. I'd love to hear what some of you other ladies have to say about it as well.
Yes, I am eager to try!! Thanks, Anne JF for the info. Do you think that this is more like powder foundation (e.g. MAC Studio Fix)? Or is it a real finishing powder? Thanks for any info!
Hi everyone, thanks for the feedback. I've got to try it, plus that cute brush.
Claire, from what I understand, you can wear it as a foundation only if you aren't expecting much coverage.
Anne, thanks. I'm going to need the lightest shade too. Will see about reserving it, me, cb.
I want that glow, Eileen. :)
Hi CG
We got Les Beiges awhile ago -before u all the way in Africa!!-go figure-we never get snythinf first if a all!-I have two Les Beiges-I think I have 20-it is a light as air finishing powder -I have used it layered as a powder foundation-I do not like powder foundations as a rule but this was ok -The cream black compact is gorgeous and on the go enclosed brush great.this gives a very nice soft natural finish -they had a kabuki brush with this collection but sold out so fast-also our counters have been out of stock literally since the week they got it. CG I think u will love this-oh the darker shade I have in a cute mini trial size which I use as a bronzer-it will last forever
Les Beiges have been availabe in Germany for 2 or 3 months. I really love it, it gives you that lit-from-within glow. It's perfect, but not mattifying, so if you are looking for that - look elsewhere :-)
I see my typo above on mq, cb. Sorry. I will ask Saks today if they expect to get adequate stock.
I love the glow idea. Otherwise, it might be 'common."
I got Les Beiges in #20 and #30 in March in Canada. I use it as a foundation. #30 is wee bit dark to use as a foundation, but love the texture and color. One of the best powder foundation, I own. I always get compliments when I wear Les Beiges (either as a foundation or finishing powder). I found my HG powder foundation. I am still hunting for liquid foundation. I am not into heavy foundation. As per Lisa Eldridge, use to even out the skin tone. When I wear this, its your skin but better. The brush is amazing. Didn't have any prob w/ my very sensitive and acne prone skin. I got it in Canada for $60. My cousin got 10% of the purchase coz she is non-canadian.
Hope its helpful
Anks
Hi Everyone,
I want to thank all of you for your input. This has been on my watch list ever since the first reviews started appearing, but now that I also have your opinions, it has bumped up to my must buy list! :-)
Since there will undoubtedly be a huge market in the US for this product, it just seems odd to be deferring its release until August. Oh well,
I love Les beiges! It's been out in the Netherlands for some time now. I must admit I was rather sceptical when I swatched it. It seemed just a beige powder, nothing special. Luckily there was a Chanel mua who offered to apply it. So glad I said yes! She used the matching kabuki-like brush to gently buff the powder in with circular movement and there it was, that wonderful glow from within, imperfection were a lot less visible as well. It's not foundation and it's not just a powder either, it's somewhere in between. With a regular powder brush you can also use it as a finishing powder or, if you buy a shade darker than your skin tone, as a bronzer.

Yes jump in quick! Australia has lauched over a month now (surprisingly) and it sold out after 2 weeks!!! I have shade 20 I am fair to medium skin tone I am loving it so much that I bought a backup!!
Ummmm, Did Eileen mention a Chanel cream blush launch???? I have been begging for this for years. Anyone have info on that?? Side note- Super excited to try Les Beiges. I love the double perfection but always wish it was lighter, this sounds like my wish ! Remember I need info on the Chanel Cream Blush :-)

Hi Jenny,
They will be launched as part of the fall 2013 "Superstition" collection. Each cream blush has a coordinating lipstick. There will be six shades :-) Pictures of the product page are beginning to surface on line. You can google it.
I've always been such a "Bobbi girl" but this sounds so amazing from what everyone is saying. I think I'd fit the skin type demo from what Anne JF is saying. Sounds great!
This sounds like a terrific product perfect for the summer and versatile. I am in need of a finishing type powder so hope I can find it in light, to check out. As I am so fair it can be hard to get some products and if wanting to use specifically as a finishing powder the colout must be spot on. Excited to see if I can find it!
Dying a slow and painful death waiting for Les Beiges to arrive in the States.
Cream blushes frequently disappear into my dry skin, but I will give them a fair chance.
Loving any and all info you all have shared. Thanks everyone.
Hi there! I've had this for quite a while now. It was first realeased in Italy at least 5 or 6 weeks ago. Very comfortable texture, a lovely scent and delicate hue. They all look much darker in the pan, but are extremely sheer once applied. For a really "invisible" touch go for the paler shades, for a bronzer/enhancer look choose something a little darker that you would imagine. I'm fair and I have the fairest you can get in Italy (3) but in northern countries in Europe there are fairer shades. I'm not sure it' worth what it costs but it sure is a little treasure to own.Fore any questions just me know.

I am based in London and Les Beiges have been available for quite a while here in the UK...the No 20 which I needed was sold out everywhere on the London high street...fortunately it is back ...and of course, now in my bag...I love it!
Cheers
I tried the #30 and quite liked it. I don't normally use foundation powder; and occasionally use a finishing powder when I'm doing the whole nine yards. I have normal skin and it's been so hot here in Los Angeles that sometimes you don't want to put on much and this just gives a nice light cover. Nothing to make your face sweat as it sometimes does when there's no airconditioning.
It didn't settle in lines and believe me that's a number one concern with me. I think you have to experiment with different brushes and sponges to get the effect you want.
