The Day Before

I had intended to write today, but I spent the entire day running last-minute errands before tomorrow's ceremony at Arlington Cemetery, where Mom's ashes will be united with my father's for eternity.

We are hosting a reception afterwards for friends and family, and although I have a caterer bringing the food, I had so many add-ons to pick up.

I have lots to tell you and show you, but I'm sure you understand that all of it will have to wait.

I have made the decision that I will continue the Friday Forum for the indefinite future. Today, I had planned to show you Dustin Lujan's artistry and give you a peek at his next makeup introductions. I'll do it next week.

Thanks for understanding.

Although today will be filled with sadness, I hope that it will also be filled with peace, serenity, and blessings as you all come together in the name of love for your mother. You have always been and will always be the devoted daughter and so I'm sure much of that love will come your way as well. God bless you.

I hope you're doing ok. Losing a parent is always hard. I'm glad you'll still be doing the Friday Forum. It's one of my fave features.

Dear CG,
I hope yesterday was not too emotionally draining and exhausting. I imagine it was comforting to celebrate your mother's life with friends and relatives.
We have strong winds and rain here, no power yesterday for 10 hours. It is supposed to be calmer this next week.
I have been meaning to write my feelings about your blog and your thoughts about not blogging any more and wanted to suggest that you continue the Friday forum. I was very happy to read that you plan on continuing that feature. As many have expressed, I appreciate your blog immensely, your writing style, product features, pictures, honesty, insights and heads-ups. It feels like I have gotten to know you a bit over the years, I appreciate your love for nature and animals and your commitment to them. If you shut down entirely, it would feel like a loss to me, I guess that is the nature of the virtual world but I am a loyal person and would be sad if I couldn't read your voice at all any more. Hopefully, that doesn't come across as selfish.
Take care and thank you for blogging for many years. You are very much appreciated.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom and I pray for your peace. You know you resemble her a great deal!

Thank you, my sweet friends. It's a good thing the ceremony was months after her death. Easier to face.

Everyone said I was the spitting image of my father, but I did have some of Mom's facial features too. :)

You are such good people! It's nice to know you are here.

Hi CG,

I hope the ceremony went well and you are OK!

I'm happy to hear that you'll be keeping the Friday post going. It's always fun to pop in and see what others are thinking and have to share. I haven't always commented, but I always read the comments, so it'll be nice to be able to be able to keep in touch with people who share the same interests. :)
