IT Cosmetics Live, Love, Laugh Vitality Face Disc

I was pleased to see that IT Cosmetics has been nominated by Cosmetic Executive Women for a 2013 Insider's Beauty Award. IT is one of six nominees for the Indie Beauty Award. I'm sending good luck vibes in hopes that they will win. I love the company, and I love their makeup. I think they deserve the recognition.

They sent me a Live, Love, Laugh Vitality Face Disc ($38) gratis not too long ago. I've been meaning to show it to you for weeks, but the sunshine wasn't cooperating with me. Now that we are having a stretch of sunny days, I'm catching up.

The first thing you need to know about Live, Love, Laugh is that it's huge. You certainly get your money's worth with this mirrored compact containing a Luxe High Performance Anti-Aging matte bronzer, illuminating powder, and a vitality blush.

The Live, Love, Laugh Anti-Aging Vitality Face Disc is all about that healthy look of vitality for the face and body. This disc is substantial in size and has a jumbo mirror inside - it's an all-in-one makeup must-have. The waterproof matte bronzer, illuminating highlighter, and anti-aging vitality blush shade are naturally pretty and infused with cutting-edge anti-aging ingredients hydrating ingredients, including hydrolyzed collagen, açaí, green tea, and vitamins A, C, and E. There's no talc, parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic fragrances, and it's phthalate free (those trying to avoid hormone disruptors will be pleased).

It's much prettier in person than it looks on the IT Web site (that photos is shown at the top of this feature). My photo shows the true color (hopefully not bragging - just the truth. I was pleased to take swatch photos in full sun, swatching heavily with a sponge-tipped applicator. I started at the top of my arm with the bronzer, followed with the highlighter/illuminator, and finished at the bottom with the super-gorgeous blush.

Could these colors get prettier? The bronzer is a good shade for me. It looks light brown on my face, without muddiness. It's matte, so it doesn't add any disco glamour. The highlighter is a perfect shade for nearly everyone. The very light golden beige also complements the other two shades perfectly.

The blush revved me. It is a watermelon pink, has a satin finish, and looks extremely natural. I should have taken a photo of a normal application, but that wouldn't have shown up particularly well here.

Here is how IT Cosmetics recommends you use the Live, Love, Laugh Vitality Face Disc...

Using the Jumbo Heavenly Luxe Mega-Brush, apply the matte bronzer to areas of your face where you desire a bit more color, such as across the forehead, nose, and chin - then underneath the cheekbones and jawline for dimension and contouring. Use the illuminating radiance powder on the areas of your face where you desire the look of light and illumination, such as along the top side of your cheek and brow bones. Apply the vitality blush to the apples of your cheeks for a healthy-looking glow. If you prefer a hint of shimmer with your bronzer, swirl your brush in both the matte bronzer and the illuminating powder. The two combine for the perfect bronze glow. I will add that the illuminating powder and the vitality blush also blend well for a brightening blush.

I have fallen for IT. They have been very generous with me, sending me color, skin care, and brushes to try. I am going to go dig through my box. I was browsing online and was "captured" by the Hello Light Anti-Aging Crème Radiance Illuminator. I really hope it's in there. Next up, I want to tell you about a fabulous IT Cosmetics foundation I tested last week. I am a lucky blogger.

When you go the the IT Web site, you will see an offer to become an "IT Insider" and receive a 20% discount on your next purchase. Plus you'll receive the company's newsletter. Good deal!

IT Cosmetics Airbrush Blush Stain Trio

I guess we'll make it an IT day! Over the holidays, IT Cosmetics sent me a beautiful silver box with three Airbrush Blush Stains ($39.50). I've been enjoying them since.

This set of three gorgeous loose powder blushes is housed in a beautiful gift box, complete with ribbon, bow, and a gift tag that reads, "Because of You...The World Is More Beautiful!” How can you beat that compliment?

Anti-aging Airbrush Blush Stain is an airbrush silk cheek stain that's infused into a powder. The set includes these three shades. I photographed them in the following order, left to right.
  • Rose Glow, a universal rose satin shade
  • Love Story, a peachy-pink satin shade
  • Sweet Cheeks, a universal matte pinky-peach shade
I took swatch photos in full sun. For the life of me, I can't remember how I applied them for the photos. I probably used a sponge-tipped applicator.

Love Story is shown at the top of my arm. It's my favorite of the shades. While The sun added extra shine to my arm, the shade has its own vitality. I think Love Story is worth the entire price of the set.

Rose Glow is a beautiful, natural rose that leans cool on my skin - another beautiful shade. Sweet Cheeks will be perfect for someone with warmer skin than mine or a tan. It's matte, which isn't my favorite finish, so I mix it with one of the other shades and bingo! It works beautifully. That's the beauty of loose powders. Just shake a little bit onto a mirror or other flat surface and pick up the pigment with a good brush. IT's brushes are fabulous. They suggest you use the Luxe French Boutique Blush Brush, which is sold separately).

Their tips for application? Lightly dust blush over the apples of your cheeks using light, upward sweeping motions. Just the lightest touch of this blush provides a gorgeous flush of color! For more intense color, apply a second dusting of blush. This blush can be used on bare skin or over foundation.

I've enjoyed everything IT Cosmetics has sent me. I have more to show you - if the sun will ever shine for an entire day.  You can find IT at QVC (where I don't hang out often), Henri Bendel, and Beauty.com, and the company's Web site. In Canada, you can order from The Shopping Chanel, and in Australia, you can order from PM Studio. Look around online and let us know what grabs your attention.

IT Cosmetics Vitality Cheek Stain in Radiant in Rose

Last fall, I discovered a new-to-me brand: IT Cosmetics. IT knocked me off my feet. I featured Vitality Cheek Stain in Pretty in Peony and expressed my wish to try Radiant in Rose. IT sent me Radiant in Rose, making my wish come true. I knew I'd love Vitality Cheek Stain in Radiant in Rose ($24), and I do.

Let's start with the color. It's much prettier in person than it looks on the IT site (see photo at the top of this feature). The color is pure rose, and a perfect pick-me-up for spring and summer.

It's a powder blush, cheek stain, antioxidant defender, and hydrating skin conditioner all in one. The cutting-edge micro-milled, long-wear powder stain never clings to fine lines and wrinkles, but it imparts the glow of a stain with a powder. In the compact, if feels like a hybrid between a cream and a powder. Pretty cool!

Developed with plastic surgeons, this hydrating, brightening, and anti-aging blush gives the perfect naturally pretty flush of color to the cheeks and is surprisingly long-lasting. The innovative formula contains IT Cosmetics' Hydra-Luxe technology, including ingredients such as plum oil, cherry oil, hyaluronic acid, pomegranate, seaweed extract, grape seed, aloe, and jojoba that all work together to treat, hydrate, condition, and nourish your skin. Plus, Vitality Cheek Flush is packed with antioxidants, including vitamins A, C, and E, açaí fruit, green tea, and white tea. They packed all those fabulous ingredients into one blush. What did they leave out? Talc, paraben, sulfate, mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic fragrance, and phthalates, making Vitality Cheek Stain a blush for everyone. An extra-added benefit is that is is made in the USA and cruelty-free.

I know we have all been trying to avoid phthalates, but after seeing Dateline on NBC News Sunday night, I must write about what I learned. I don't want them or any other hormone disruptors metabolized in my body. More on that another time.

All of you who have a hard time holding onto your blush for an eight-hour day will love Vitality Cheek Stain. It is seriously long-lasting (as are some other It products I've been trying), and it may be the answer to an issue that has vexed you as long as I've been writing this blog - or longer. This cheek color will stay with you all day.

I took swatch photos in full sun that was fading fast. I applied the swatch of Radiant in Rose at the top of my arm with a sponge-tipped applicator, and a larger swatch with a blush brush below - both fairly heavily. Fortunately, I got a few photos before the clouds diminished the light.

The color is pure rose. It is the pink of spring. With Easter coming up, we will see a parade of spring colors. Radiant in Rose will fit right in.

I have one more of these gorgeous IT Cosmetics blushes to show you: Magical in Mauve. I'm a fan!

Last fall, I admitted that I've had my head in the sand. Perhaps I'm too much of a luxury brand snob. Look at this page of stories and wonder (along with me) how I had only a passing knowledge of IT Cosmetics before autumn. I'm almost ashamed to admit that my first try of It Cosmetics was in October. Want to know a little more about IT? Check out this About page on the company's Web site. I'm joining this family. Who doesn't like anti-aging makeup with flair?

You can find IT at QVC (where I don't hang out often), Henri Bendel, and Beauty.com, and the company's Web site. In Canada, you can order from The Shopping Chanel, and in Australia, you can order from PM Studio. Look around online and let us know what rocks you. Thanks to IT, I have a lot more to show you. As the sun rises in the sky and spring arrives for good, I'll have more available time for swatch photos.

IT Cosmetics Hello Light Powder Illuminizer

My love affair with IT continues. Hello Light Powder Illuminizer ($24) grabbed my attention with its description, which left me with a "wow." Then I applied it. That elicited a double wow.

Anti-Aging Radiance Pressed Illuminating Powder With Hydrolyzed Collagen, Peptides, and Drops of Light Technology

How could something so pretty offer my skin such a bounty?  Even though IT Cosmetics says Hello Light is a colorless, translucent powder, on my skin it's a subtle golden illuminating sheen - much more exciting than colorless powder.

Natural radiance and a youthful, vitality-filled glow are just an airbrush away. An anti-aging powerhouse for naturally pretty, lit-from-within skin, this innovative formula is all about the look of vitality, radiance, and illumination without glitter or shimmer. The formula is infused with micronized pigments of light, plus skin-loving ingredients including peptides, hyaluronic acid, hydrolyzed collagen, silk, and vitamins A, C, & E. It's free of all of the ingredients that make skin appear older or caked, such as talc.

Antioxidants hydrate, condition, and nourish your skin while warding off free radicals all day long. Even better for anyone who has combo or oily skin, the Hello Light Illuminating Powder absorbs oil and shine while blurring away the look of pores, and fine lines without settling in them. This powder is a perfect finishing step for the look of lift and illumination. The convenient compact makes it easy for you to brighten, hydrate, and awaken your skin all day long. You know how we get the drabs around 3:00.

I took photos of the powder in full sunlight. I swatched heavily at the top of my arm with a sponge-tipped applicator, and then I applied the larger swatch with a kabuki brush (the larger swatch wasn't particularly heavy). With all due respect to my friends at IT Cosmetics, you'll see that Hello Light is anything but colorless. Check out my arm and you'll see the kind of divine glow this power provides.

Without any shimmer or glitter - as advertised - it lights up my face. The gold gives me warmth at a perfect time of year. I imagine it will do the same for those with warm-toned complexions, adding its golden glow.

It is translucent. You can see the always-clear veins in my skinny arms, but you can see the sheen it adds. No offense to the lovely reader who suggested in an e-mail that I might use the part of my arm closer to my elbow, like Karla Sugar used for swatches, to hide my veins. My arms look like this all the way to my elbow - a nurse's dream. They look like toothpicks. Sorry, gals, I just don't have enough flesh. I try to eat enough so that I don't look skeletal. Actually, I need to do some exercise for my abs, but I have no energy after dragging my bad knee and back around all day.

Enough about me. I love this illuminating powder! I have tested three of the products IT Cosmetics sent me, and I love all three. How on earth did I overlook IT for so long? I know you think, as I do, that beauty bloggers should be intimately familiar with all brands, so how could I have been "aware" of IT without realizing that the company makes fabulous makeup at an equally fabulous price point. I hear something new is in the mail to me, and I can't wait to show you.

Did I tell you about IT?  IT Cosmetics works with leading plastic surgeons to infuse cutting-edge anti-aging technology into innovative, high-performance color cosmetics. A favorite line of both celebrities and beauty editors, IT Cosmetics has several award-winning products and has been featured in hundreds of leading magazines and television shows. Also, IT Cosmetics was honored with the much coveted 2011 Cosmetic Innovator of the Year Award for "Most Innovative Company" by ICMAD, along with several other prestigious awards and Editor's Pick honors at leading prestige beauty magazines. Even more exciting, IT has partnered with the American Cancer Society’s Look Good, Feel Better program, and for every Brow Power pencil sold, one is donated to the LGFB program, to help women face the effects of Cancer with confidence. Their philanthropy makes me even more excited to explore their brand.

I don't usually assign scores to makeup - opinions are so subjective - but if I were to give Hello Light Powder Illuminizer a score, it would be an A+. Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go outside and convince a woodpecker that the trim on my house is not fair game.

IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Flush

IT Cosmetics' Vitality Lip Flush 4-in-1 Natural Anti-Aging Lipstick Stains take the place of four products; your lipstick, anti-aging conditioning lip balm, ultra-hydrating lip gloss, and lip stain all in one.

This innovative, all-natural formula contains IT Cosmetics Hydra-Luxe Technology, which includes ingredients such as plum oil, cherry oil, shea butter, aloe, and jojoba - all working together to treat, hydrate, condition, and nourish your lips and minimize the appearance of lip lines and wrinkles. Plus Vitality Lip Flush is packed with anti-aging antioxidants, including vitamins A, C, and E; açaí; and green and white tea to protect the lips and ward off free radicals all day long.

I was the lucky recipient of two shades that IT sent me to try: Je Ne Sais Quoi and Love Story. Love Story is shown at the top of this feature.

When I first opened Je Ne Said Quoi, my first thought was, "Oh, nice lip balm in a pretty case (love the pink)." It looked colorless, so I was surprised to see that it actually carries a very slight pink color. I took my swatch photo in full sun, and you can definitely see the baby pink. I was surprised by how good it feels on my lips the moment I applied it.

Then I tried Love Story, shown at my house below. Love Story appeared to be a warm pink in the tube. It was later in the day (late-afternoon sunshine) when I photographed Love Story. Sorry about the shadows. That's when I learned that it's a brilliant medium pink with just a hint of warmth.

Love Story does carry much more pigment than Je Ne Sais Quoi, and the most amazing thing is that the color on my lips is amazingly long-lasting. I assume that's why it's called a stain. I would never have expected the long-lasting color from a product that looks and feels like balm.

I'm just as enamored with IT Cosmetics as I was when I tried Vitality Cheek Stain. I have a new dual-duty lip balm/lip color in my purse, and her name is Love Story.

As I mentioned last week, I'm always excited to discover a new-to-me brand - one that knocks me off my feet. IT Cosmetics did that. Even better, their Friends & Family sale runs through Monday, November 19. You can take 25% off your purchase. I'll be shopping. Right now, Vitality Lip Flush costs only $15.

IT Cosmetics Vitality Cheek Stain and a Friends & Family Sale

I'm always excited to discover a new-to-me brand - one that knocks me off my feet. IT Cosmetics did that. They contacted me and sent a few products I might want to feature. The timing is perfect. Their Friends & Family sale starts today! Now, through Monday, November 19, you can take 25% off your purchase. I'll be shopping.

I'd like to start showing you my new It favorites with Vitality Cheek Stain (normally $24, but $18 right now). I have to admit I'm a little confused. My powder cheek color is called "Vitality Cheek Flush" on the compact. At QVC, it's called "Vitality Cheek Flush Powder Blush Stain," and at the It Cosmetics Web site, it's called "Vitality Cheek Stain." Perhaps they are all the same. Maybe they are different incarnations of the same basic cheek color - or simply name changes over time. No matter to me; this cheek color is drop-dead gorgeous.

The shade I have is Pretty in Peony, shown directly above. It's a powder blush, cheek stain, antioxidant defender, and hydrating skin conditioner all in one. The cutting-edge micro-milled, long-wear powder stain never clings to fine lines and wrinkles, but it imparts the glow of a stain with a powder.

This is Pretty in Peony. Isn't the rose shade exquisite? It reminds me of watermelon when applied to my cheeks. I swatched it at the top of my arm with my usual sponge-tipped applicator (I buy them by the thousand), and I used a kabuki brush to apply the large swatch below. Both were heavy applications for the photos.

Pretty in Peony is a great shade for "normal," medium, or dark complexions. I can wear it on my ultra-pale face, but I have to apply it carefully, using a fan or fluffy brush and barely running it over my cheeks. Do I look good in Pretty in Pink? You bet! The color is so luscious, I stop to admire my cheeks each time I pass a mirror. Now I'd like to have the other two shades, Radiant in Rose and Magical in Mauve, even though I'm sure Magical in Mauve was not created for pale faces.

All of you who have a hard time holding onto your blush for an eight-hour day will love Vitality Cheek Stain. It is seriously long-lasting (as are some other It products I've been trying), and it may be the answer to an issue that has vexed you as long as I've been writing this blog - or longer.

I have to admit I've had my head in the sand. Perhaps I'm too much of a luxury brand snob. Look at this page of stories and wonder (along with me) how I had only a passing knowledge of the brand. You can find IT at QVC (where I don't hang out often), Henri Bendel, and Beauty.com, but you really need to take advantage of the sale right now at the company's Web site. In Canada, you can order from The Shopping Chanel, and in Australia, you can order from PM Studio. Look around online and let us know what rocks you. Next up here will be Vitality Lip Flush. It's the cat's meow.
