Clé de Peau Beauté Enriched Lip Luminizers from the La Bohème Collection for Spring-Summer 2014

Clé de Peau Beauté introduced three Enriched Lip Luminizers from the La Bohème Collection for Spring-Summer 2014: #224, #225, and #226. Sweetie Pie, #224, is shown above. Toffee Apple, #225, is shown below right, with Fabulous Fig, #226, at left.

This color collection was inspired by a free-spirited, romantic beauty look. La Bohème fuses the wild and unconventional ethos of a Bohemian beauty with chic sophistication, creating a collection that celebrates the women of today," said Makeup Creative Director Lucia Pieroni.

With unsurpassed luster, these luxuriously enriched lipsticks use exclusive spotlight technology to capture light and maximize radiance. These fresh, new shades are delicately translucent in subtle colors that make an understated impact.

The limited-edition Enriched Lip Luminizers are $60 with case, and I do buy the lip cases because the lip colors are extremely hard to use without them). You have the option to buy refills,

I think all three shades are gorgeous. Infused with Clé de Peau Beauté's unique color complex technology and skin-care benefits, the Lip Luminizer formula harnesses light and increases radiance. I love it. The exclusive Hydro-Wrap Complex EX seals color pigments for maximum hydration benefits and long-lasting wear.

I took swatch photos in full sun. Fabulous Fig is shown at the top of my arm. I think Fabulous Fig is drop-dead gorgeous. Sweetie Pie is shown in the middle. It is a very light pink on me. I was so surprised at how it looked, I had to take it out of the case to verify I hadn't switched it with Toffee Apple, which is shown at the bottom of my arm.

If I spent more time with the shades before I purchased them, I would have skipped Sweetie Pie. It's nice, just not as exciting as the other two. Maybe I find it a little too sweet. What do you think? Does one of the three colors sing to you?

Clé de Peau Beauté's stunning Spring-Summer 2014 Collection is available at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, and select Saks Fifth Avenue stores.

Clé de Peau Beauté La Bohème Collection for Spring-Summer 2014

This month, Clé de Peau Beauté and its Makeup Creative Director Lucia Pieroni introduce a color collection inspired by a free-spirited, romantic beauty look. The "La Bohème Collection" fuses the wild and unconventional ethos of a Bohemian beauty with chic sophistication, creating a collection that celebrates the women of today," said Pieroni.

The Luminizing Face Enhancer ($95 with case) shown at the top of this feature is a new shade, Delicate Pink (#14), that combines soft tones of pale pink and luminous white to deliver natural color and a healthy lit-from-within glow to the complexion. Just dust the powder over the high points of your face to create a natural, radiant contour.

Two Eye Color Quads ($80 with case) were inspired by the hues of romantic peaches and plums. These new colors create a youthful yet bold softness around the eye area. Argan tree oil and exclusive Hydro-Wrap Complex keep the colors in place and moisturize for long-lasting wear. The velvety formulation and matte finish offer many possibilities for varying your look. Peach Brown (#211) is shown above. Plum Brown (#212) is shown below.

I am really looking forward to trying these new palettes. I'm accustomed to some gleam in my Clé de Peau colors, so I want to see how the company translates matte.

There are three lustrous, limited-edition Enriched Lip Luminizers ($60 with case). Sweetie Pie (#224) is shown above. Toffee Apple (#225) is shown directly below.

The third shade is Fabulous Fig (#226). All three shades are gorgeous. Fabulous Fig is shown directly below.

You have the option to buy refills, rather than the cases, for each new item. I usually buy the refills to save money. That works perfectly, except for the lip colors, which are hard to use without the cases.

These stunning new colors are at Neiman Marcus counters. Nordstrom is expecting them shortly. They can also be found at Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, and select Saks Fifth Avenue stores. I think I need one of everything.

Sisley Phyto Lip Twist Tinted Balm

Sisley's new Phyto Lip Twist Tinted Balms ($50) are colored like a lipstick and shiny like a gloss. They are applied with a single "twist" (if necessary) and leave the lips supple, moisturized, visibly smoothed, and plumped thanks to their cocktail of plant-based active ingredients. I purchased two at Neiman Marcus.
  • Their ultra-sensory smooth glide-on texture reinvents lipstick (perhaps an exaggeration).
  • Their luminous, easy-to-wear shades match any occasion, offering colors from virtual nude to intense.
  • They are fun and practical - the new XXL pencil does not need a sharpener.
With Sisley's favorite new zebra print cases, these new lip colors are snazzy and modern. I was instantly drawn to them. I forced myself to select only two. They are pricey, so I figured $100 (for two) was all I could justify. I'd sure love to be on Sisley's blogger list!

The pink on the left in my photo above is shade #2, and the coral is #3. It took me all of two seconds to select them - and then hold myself back from falling in love with more shades. I was not going to do an Hourglass repeat!

Sisley says to apply them just like a lipstick, and that works nicely. The tip is the perfect size for outlining and coloring the lips in a single stroke. Apply a single coat for a sheen of glossy color, or layer for a stronger, stunning flash of color. The choice is yours. They apply like a dream and feel fabulous on the lips. Sisley always packs its color with good-for-you ingredients.

I took swatch photos in full, mid-day sun. I think you will like the colors you see. Unlike some tinted balms, they have color you can see. Number 2 is shown at the top of my arm, with #3 below. Aren't they exquisite shades? Incidentally, I don't know why my photo below shows goosebumps on my arm. It was pretty nice outside when I took these photos.

There are six colors, all of which have names on the Neiman Marcus Web site. My Phyto Lip Twists only have numbers on them. The names are Nude, Baby, Peach, Pink, Berry, and Cherry. There isn't one I wouldn't want to wear.

You can find Sisley's new lip colors at all Sisley counters and online. Need help? Call Vicki Hamilton at (202) 966-9700, extension 2258.

Despite the high-end price, I'd highly recommend you give these a look-see. I'll bet you come home with one (or more).

Bobbi Brown Pink & Gold Lip Palette Giveaway Contest

Please note e-mail request!
Bobbi Brown's Pink & Gold Lip Palette ($45) was introduced a few years ago, but is no less trendy today than it was at its holiday launch. The black palette with Bobbi's classy logo includes six fabulous lip colors. The ultimate lip palette, this collection of fresh pinks, deep roses, and a beautiful golden nude can be mixed and layered to create your own custom looks.

I love the shades in this palette, so when I found one at the outlet, I made an instant decision to purchase it for a giveaway.
  • Roseberry Lip Color
  • Kir Metallic Lip Color (one of my all-time favorites)
  • Pretty Pink Metallic Lip Color
  • Sunset Nude Creamy Lip Color
  • Italian Rose Creamy Lip Color
  • Brownie Lip Color
The palette comes with a nice lip brush, particularly useful if you take it along and don't want to use your fingers to apply the colors.

I have one palette to give away.  How can you enter to win this giveaway contest (technically a sweepstakes)? Just leave a comment on this feature (not in another BTiB post). Jouer Pearl Lip Enhancer in Rose

Jouer's Pearl Lip Enhancer ($16) is a nourishing and conditioning lip treatment with clinically-proven "Maxi Lip," which is designed to increase the fullness of the lips while decreasing fine lines. It offers a hint of pearly, shimmering color with each application. With its botanical ingredients, this ultra-rich lip moisturizer helps protect the lips from environmental damage. Plus it feels great on the lips.

I selected Rose, described as a shimmering rose peal, when I was shopping during Jouer's Friends & Family Sale. It's only available in three shades: rose, peach, and nude. The shade names are descriptive and definitely devoid of all of the descriptors we usually see, for example, "Beach-worthy Rose" or "Relentless Rose."

As you can see from the photos, it is packaged in a tube, which is perfect for this type of lip color - just like Tom Ford's Lip Lacquer. but a lot less expensive.

I was delighted when I tried Rose. I took swatch photos in full, late-afternoon sun, applying the color directly from the tube. I was instantly delighted with the shimmer and color. This lip color definitely shines with a pearlescent luster.

It has the same effect on the lips as the Pink Lust Lip Lacquer - a little frosty, but with plenty of color to make complement your lips.

I love the way it glows on my lips. It sings summer. As I look back on that 30% discount, I wish I had ordered all three shades.

You can find Jouer's lovely Pearl Lip Enhancers and all of their products at the company's Web site and Henri Bendel (also Skin 6|2 in Las Vegas). Jouer also has an active presence on Facebook, so you may want to like their page to get all the news.

Chantecaille Lip Screen Tint SPF 15 for Summer 2013

Chantecaille is introducing a new Lip Screen Tint SPF 15 ($36) with its summer collection. These beautiful sheer lip colors offer a hint of shine and whisper of polished color, combined with a serious SPF lip treatment. When I was in the store swatching, I believed the shades above were the new shades. They were in the right display slots. I was only partially correct. I'm sorry. The only one that appears to have been correct was Sardinia.

The high-performing and extremely comfortable formula contains an ultra-healing botanical blend of rose and honey. Packaged in a chic shiny silver tube, it's the perfect accessory for your summer look.

There are three glistening shades inspired by the islands of the Mediterranean Sea.
  • Ibiza - muted pink
  • Sardinia - bright and extremely wearable "coral"
  • Neutral - apparently a clear SPF
I took swatch photos of the three on the display outside Neiman Marcus Mazza Gallerie. My photos were taken in full mid-day sunshine. Sardinia is shown at the top of my arm and at left in the display photo above. The existing Mai - not a new shade, but like Ibiza, I'm told - is in the middle in both photos. Neutral, shown at right above, may or may not be at bottom on my arm. The tester actually says only SPF 15.

After looking at the testers, I was sure that my favorite would be the pink - the one it turns out I haven't seen. Imagine my surprise when I nearly drooled over Sardinia. While it could be called coral, it has enough rose in it to look fabulous paired with my cool-toned skin. I feared that you wouldn't be able to see Neutral is expected to be clear.

I love the way Sardinia looks and feels. They are perfect for a casual summer. I've got Sardinia on my list for Camp Gorgeous, but I fear it won't arrive in time. I just learned that Sardinia is shipping to the stores today, and Ibiza will ship Monday.

If you'd like some help with the Camp Gorgeous event, give Jeannine Barnes at Neiman Marcus a call at (202) 966-9700, extension 2289. The Chantecaille Web site doesn't show all the new summer colors. If you want one of the limited numbers Jeannine will receive, call her tomorrow. Don't wait!

Update: Chantecaille just posted on Facebook a 10% discount on its site for purchases between now and June 3. Use code SMR10 at checkout.

Update #2: This feature was modified after I learned that only one of the colors in the display unit was "right color." I am sorry. After swatching at two stores, I wasn't expecting that.

Update #3: This is the Chantecaille GWP for Camp Gorgeous. I promise, no more updates.

Dior Jelly Lip Pen in Gaïa from the Birds of Paradise Collection for Summer 2013

Dior launched three new, limited-edition shades of its Jelly Lip Pen ($26) with the Birds of Paradise Collection for Summer 2013: Gaïa (#656, shimmering watermelon pink), Carioca (# 636, shimmering pink apricot), and Copacabana (#516, shimmering nude beige). I was taken with Gaïa even before I knew it was named after Gaia from The Non-Blonde.

This lip color in a pencil delivers hydration, shine, and rich pigment. A true beauty multitasker, the exclusive jelly-like formula offers an all-in-one treatment to deliver the hydration of a balm, the high-shine of a gloss, and the pigment of a lipstick. This jumbo pencil sharpens with a simple twist and is ideal for easy, smooth, touch-and-go application.

Dior calls the Jelly Lip Pen colors saturated. I'll have to disagree there, given that they offer sheer, shiny, hydrating color. However, I'll never ague with sheer, shiny, and hydrating. I will warn you that Copacabana is virtually clear on the lips. The champagne color basically disappears on my lips.

I took swatch photos of Gaïa in full, morning sunshine. It's a rosy pink, and it does add a fast-and-easy my-lips-but-better look to my lips. You can see on my arm that it's not entirely sheer; it slightly covers the veins in my arm.

Watermelon pink is a perfect description of the shade. I love it! For a quick touch-up or a casual lip, Dior's new Jelly Lip Pens offer a fabulous option.

You can find the new Dior Birds of Paradise Collection at Dior counters, and it is a available online at Nordstrom and Sephora. I'll warn you that it might be easiest to order online. When I tried to buy Gaïa at Neiman Marcus, not one full week after its arrival, it was sold out. I purchased it from Nordstrom online.

Tom Ford Summer 2013 Beauty Collection Lip Lacquer in Pink Lust - Up Close and Personal

I am thrilled to continue my series of swatch photo features taken at my house immediately after applying items from this beautiful collection. The Lip Lacquer in Pink Lust (#03, $30) is the focus of this feature. Like Escapade, it is a stunning, shimmery peach-pink that coordinates beautifully with the golden tan collection.

I took my photos in full, mid-day sunshine. I swatched Pink Lust straight from the tube. I blended it out a bit, just like I'd do by smacking my lips after application. Come to think of it, this is a lip-smacking gloss.

On the lips, Pink Lust is a silvery peachy pink. The pigment of my lips provides the pink hue, and Pink Lust provides the peach. I hesitate to use the word "frosty" because I think the younger bloggers use it way too much to describe shimmery finishes. They weren't alive when we knew what frosty meant. However, Pink Lust merits the use of the word. It is frosty on my lips - it reminds me of long-ago decade.

As I mentioned in my earlier Escapade feature, the white dogwood background fools my camera, although in this case, it spotlights the finish of Pink Lust. I'm feeling pretty special as I wear it.

This Lip Lacquer is amazingly hydrating, without a trace of stickiness. It's divinely comfortable. It makes me feel beach-ready. When a lip color can change your mood, you know it's great.

If you plan to order and need help, please give Dustin Lujan a call. He will help you pick out the best colors for your complexion, based on his incredible eye as a makeup artist. You can reach him at (212) 872-2714. Yes, I'm promoting Dustin in his new position as the Tom Ford artist and representative at the John Barrett Salon. He's gifted, and I know you will love him.

Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint Trio

Somewhere along the way, I purchased a trio of Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tints. I decided that today would be a good time to show them to you since a set of five is this week's giveaway contest.

Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint ($24) is a hybrid between a stain, a gloss, and a rich balm. LipSurgence Lip Tint delivers nondrying, sheer color while keeping the lips hydrated and refreshed. This award-winning tint is goof-proof - it goes on like a lip gloss, stays on like a stain, and hydrates like a dreamy balm.

The proprietary formula effectively increases the skin’s water content for a plumped appearance and a refreshing hint of mint. The result?  Naturally fuller, rich lips without any irritation or stinging. The easy-to-use twist-up container eliminates the need for sharpeners.

There was a momentary break in today's cloud cover, and I was ready. The Lip Tints were in my pocket, and my only challenge was to keep the tubes from blowing around in the wind. Success! The photo above shows Charmed, Enchanted, and Joy from left to right.

I was able to snap a few swatch photos before the clouds ruined my sun spots. I applied the lip tints straight from their handy, colored tubes.

Charmed is shown at the top or my arm. It's a pretty pink with enough color to show on my lips. The rose Enchanted is my favorite. It's one of those "my lips but better" shades.

Joy is orange. Tarte calls it peach. Normally, it wouldn't catch my eye, but today I tried applying it over Enchanted, and the result was a color better than either of them alone! Joy deepens the rose, adding a touch of warmth. I had one of those "wow" moments!

These lovely LipSurgence Lip Tints feel great on my lips. The hydrating feel lasts. It's not a momentary flash - what I find with some lip colors marketed as hydrating. The minty taste is light and goes away quickly. That's why I'm OK with it, even though I'm not fond of flavor in my lip products. As I'm sure you know, Tarte products are cruelty-free and contain no nasty stuff to ingest. I think my next purchase will be Moody, a deep berry shade.

You can find Tarte's LipSurgence Lip Tints at Tarte, Sephora, and Ulta. Each retailer seems to have a different set of shades. These three are available at Tarte, although I don't see the trio special anymore.

Remember that little star magnolia bud I showed you last week? It's still struggling to open, but the snow and cold weather have keep it safely protected. Nature will not be denied, and I noticed today that it's starting to open. I snapped a photo under cloud cover. It closes this feature below. Why? Because makeup reminds me of nature's beauty.

Tarte LipSurgence Five-Piece Collector's Set Giveaway Contest

Offered as a limited-edition LipSurgence Collector's Set featuring five of Tarte's bestselling and award-winning tints in all three formulas (sheer, matte, and shimmer), Tarte's Baby It's Bold Outside was a holiday special. Each emotive shade (including two of Maureen's favorites plus three new colors) glides on lips for natural color that delivers a surge of moisture on a cellular level for a plumped-up appearance and a refreshing burst of flavor with each application. Wear each alone or layer it to create a customized one-of-a-kind look that's uniquely yours.

Here's what's inside.
  • Two full-sized LipSurgence lip tints (the original formula, for a natural flush): in Elite (sheer melon) and Enchanted (sheer rose)
  • Two LipSurgence Lip Lusters (for a high dose of glossy color and shine): in Sweet (shimmering peachy pink) and Escape (shimmering pink)
  • One LipSurgence Matte Lip Tint (for a rich matte finish): in Exposed (nude)
As Tarte fans know, all Tarte's LipSurgence products offer Skinvigorating benefits. Vitamin C is an antioxidant free-radical fighter that helps prevent premature signs of aging, while brightening the skin. Vitamin E is an anti-inflammatory emollient that helps protect against free radical damage. Peppermint oil is a natural fragrance that cools and soothes inflamed or irritated lips. Jojoba seed oil is a natural soothing extract that leaves lips soft, supple, and smooth.

There's no need for sharpener. These are twist-up tints.

After 48 hours, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be selected. Make sure to check your e-mail - and look in your spam folder - when the contest ends.

This contest is open to anyone anywhere. Here are the terms. I will carefully pack and ship the prize (as I always do). I cannot insure the prize for overseas shipment - it's amazingly expensive to do so because of the way I have to send insured mail. If it's lost or stolen in transit, I may not be able to replace it with another prize just like it. I'll do my best on this end; let's see if your mail service does right by you on the other end if we have an overseas winner.

The winner must be able to provide me with a "mailable address," meaning the U.S. Post Office recognizes it or its street, province, and other "elements" the way the winner provides them. I've had some trouble with both U.S. and international addresses lately.

For all the legalese related to this contest, please see the Contests/Sweepstakes page at the top of the blog. Good luck!

If you are a follower, it would help me tally entries if you tell me in your comment how you follow. You don't have to follow to enter. I want everyone to have a chance, but I also want to reward my followers. I must be able to track this entry.

You can earn a third entry by tweeting this contest. You must include "@BTiBeauty" (without the quotes) and the contest title in your tweet. Remember, tweet the contest title - if you don't, that entry won't count. I will tweet the contest early this evening, and you can simply retweet it to earn that second entry - if that's easier.

Anyone who has commented here in the last month will receive a fourth entry. I will know.

The deadline for entries will be tomorrow, Saturday, March 23, 2013, at midnight. The next morning, I will use a random number generator (random.org) to select the winner. I will e-mail the winner on Sunday morning. The winner will have 48 hours to reply to my message and provide a shipping address.

Good luck!

Bobbi Brown Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge - Swatched

Last week, I showed you Bobbi Brown's new Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge ($25). If you didn't see the feature, please click here. I received mine from Bobbi Brown yesterday. There was a break in the clouds today, and I hobbled outside to take a few photos. All proceeds are going to Dress for Success, so I needed to tempt a few of you.

I took photos in full sun mid-day. I swatched with my finger. It's so creamy, it applies and blends nicely with my fingers. I also used a cream concealer brush to apply it to my cheeks. Magnifique!

I think this is a beautiful pink - warm enough for almost all of us - no matter what our skin tones.

You can purchase this beauty at Bobbi Brown's Web site. If you didn't read my earlier feature, you can read all about this special Pot Rouge there.

Bobbi Brown Launches a New Pretty Powerful Campaign with Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge

March is International Women's Month, and even though Bobbi Brown Cosmetics celebrates women every day, Bobbi is launching a new Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women and Girls, the first-ever charitable initiative by Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. This worldwide movement, launching this Friday, March 8, is dedicated to empowering women and girls with education, resources, job skills, and work experience and will aim to help them "be who they are" - the best they can be.

The campaign will raise funds through the sale of a limited-edition Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge (shown above, $25) and via GlobalGiving. This shade was designed to work with all skin tones. The double-duty cream formula blends easily for a soft, stained finish, while the mirrored flip-top compact allows for on-the-spot application.

In the United States, every penny of the proceeds from the sales of the Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge will go to Dress for Success, which Bobbi has supported for years. In Bobbi's words, "Makeup along cannot even the playing field for women and girls across the world, but I believe that together, those who create, apply, buy, and wear makeup can."

Bobbi has put together a video introducing the campaign. You can see the video on YouTube. As she said, "Let's rock this one!"

Isn't it amazing that you can treat yourself to this gorgeous pot rouge and contribute at the same time? Even better, you can donate directly at the Global Giving site. Just go to Bobbi Brown's Web site to purchase the Pretty Powerful Pot Rouge. From today (actually March 1) through September 1, 100% of the proceeds of the sale of this special-edition, multitasking lip and cheek color will go to Dress for Success. How can you resist?

New: Clé de Peau Beauté Enhanced Lip Luminizer

Clé de Peau Beauté Enhanced Lip Luminizer ($35) - three new, limited-edition sheer lip shades inspired by desserts. "A delicious-looking desert with a texture that captures the gaze. The irresistible smell and excellent taste bring deep satisfaction." Luscious, mouthwatering, and pink, the color of spring.

Pure radiance in a lip rouge. Lavishly bathes lips in luxurious luster. With each use, the fuller and more stunning your lips become. Brilliant dessert-inspired shades and a sumptuous texture put a spotlight on your most beguiling feature.

I purchased all three in the refills to save money.  Directly above, the photo (taken in full sun) shows #221 (Sweet Nougat), #222 (Sugar Candy), and #223 (Raspberry Rip). How could I select just one?

My swatch photos were also taken in full sun. Interestingly, #221 isn't much different on the skin - or the lips - from #222. I probably didn't need both of them. They are swatched on my arm in numeric order, with #221 at the top.

While there is a difference between #221 and #222, it is very hard to discriminate. That's surprising because they definitely look different in the tubes.

All of the other photos I took radiated intense shine. While these swatches show shine, it's moderate (and true). The superbly soft and silky formula melts onto lips and hydrates them intensely. This lip color feels good.

There is a retractable holder ($25) for the Enriched Lip Luminizer cartridges, and I would recommend you purchase at least one. Otherwise, it's extremely difficult to turn the mechanism at the bottom of the refill to raise the color bullet in the tube.

These colors are magnificent, in my opinion. They are perfect for me at any time of year, but they signal spring and warmer weather - or dessert time. Select the mental image that appeals to you.

I'd recommend you stop by a Clé de Peau Beauté counter and explore the magnificent new colors. Since it's Beauty Event at Neiman Marcus, why not go there? Or, check them out online at the Clé de Peau Beauté Web site.

Coming Soon: Le Métier de Beauté Lip Colors for Spring 2013

I mentioned recently that I was unable to get official photos of the spring lip colors from Le Métier de Beauté - the photos I've seen on the sheets sent to the counters. So a sweet company representative took photos of the testers that just arrived at her store. They are gorgeous.

There are two new Sheer Brilliance Lip Glosses ($32): Coral Rose and Pink-e Promise. Coral Rose was described to me as a sheer coral-pink; Pink-d Promise is said to be a bright, but sheer hot pink.

There are three new Lip Crèmes ($36): Pink Berry (a warm raspberry), Moroccan Sunset (a orange-copper-brown with a rose undertone), and Dulce de Leche (self-explanatory for caramel lovers).

My photo shows, top to bottom, Coral Rose (I know, it does not appear to have rose in it), Pink-e Promise, Moroccan Sunset, Dulce de Leche, and Pink Berry (I will have a meltdown if I cannot get my hands on Pink Berry very soon). These glosses are supposed to arrive before the Melange Palette I showed you last week.

Joey (Glowy Joey Bunny to those who know her) at Bergdorf Goodman told me they are only getting 48 of the palettes - probably in the second or third week of February. If you want any of the new colors, I'd suggest you pre-order now. With only 48 palettes going to most or all of the counters, they will sell out quickly. Trust me.

The best way to reach Joey is at her e-mail address: josiealycia.p@gmail.com. She always monitors her cell phone for e-mails.

I can also recommend another friend, Michael Reinhardt, at Neiman Marcus. You can reach him at (202) 966-9700, extension 2258 or 2236. As of yesterday, the testers had not arrived at his store.

Update 5:00 pm: These gorgeous lip colors arrived today at Neiman Marcus Mazza Gallerie. You can call Michael at the phone number directly above if you want to get your hands on them immediately. I just came back from picking up mine. If the sun is shining tomorrow, I will have swatch photos for you.

Le Métier de Beauté Lip Envy by Tina West Kaleidoscope Lip Kit

I promised photos of Le Métier de Beauté's new Lip Envy by Tina West Kaleidoscope Lip Kit ($95). Today, I'm keeping that promise.

Designed by Michael Reinhardt, in consultation with Dr. West (well-known for her work in cosmetic dermatology), this Kaleidoscope Lip Kit is a stunner. I was able to get sun-filled photos yesterday. I applied all four shades from top to bottom in the palette in the same order on my arm. I used a sponge-tipped applicator, and it appears my application of the brilliant rose shade at the bottom was uneven (sorry).

I think these shades are perfect. The bronze in the top pull-out pan is sheer and shiny. It has the transparency of a lip gloss. Equally sheer and shiny, the mauve-pink below it is extraordinary. The beautiful warm pink (third down) has more pigment. I'd call it and the sparkling rose below lipstick-like - not opaque, but with enough pigment to add a flash of color to our faces.

I am thrilled with this Lip Kit. Every shade works for me - and I suspect all of us will have that "made-for-me" feeling. Michael designs colors that work - shades that appeal to women who want to look pretty, not those who are looking to make a fashion statement. I appreciate his perspective and his eye for color.

As far as I know, the Lip Envy by Tina West Kaleidoscope is exclusive to Neiman Marcus Mazza Gallerie. Michael ordered enough of them to satisfy the expected demand - at least the immediate demand. If you want to treat yourself to a world-class lip palette, there's one waiting for you at Neiman Marcus Mazza. Just call Michael Reinhardt at (202) 966-9700, extension 2258 or 2236, to place your order.
