Exclusive to Sephora, Givenchy's Prismissime Compact Powder ($53) in #31, Skin Fusion, is a very pretty palette of nine shades that combine to add a soft, lightly shimmering glow to the face.
The shades include ivory with shimmer, soft apricot with shimmer, shimmering yellow gold, soft peach with shimmer, shimmering champagne gold, soft pink with shimmer, shimmering true gold, soft semi-matte rose, and pale semi-matte pink with shimmer.
I recommend sweeping a powder brush diagonally and in a circular fashion across all of the shades and lightly swirling the color over your makeup. Or, you can sweep up and down - on the rose side for a pink glow or on the peach/beige side for a golden glow to warm your complexion. You could be more selective, but the compact is relatively small, and it would be hard to use a face brush to pick up just one color. If you wanted to use one or more of the shades in a limited area, I recommend using an eye shadow brush.
This is definitely an enhancing powder. It's not a blusher - it's too light.
The powder is said to be a mini treatment as well. Its active ingredients are Dog Rose extract, which is moisturizing and known for its emollient properties, and Gingko Biloba extract to protect the skin against free radicals.
Years ago, I "lived" in Givenchy's Prisme powders. I loved them. Then the company started to drench them in perfume, a fragrance I didn't like. So, I turned away. They seem to have lightened up on the perfume. While there is still that Givenchy fragrance if you take a deep whiff of the compact, the fragrance in the powder will dissipate within a few seconds of application.
I really don't like to return products; it make me feel bad. I was forced to return a lip gloss years ago that smelled like a raccoon in heat. This one simply smells like perfume - for a few seconds. I'm glad. It was just too pretty to return.
You can find this at Sephora. It ships for free.
