The Friday Forum - April 16

Here's the "problem" with Charlie (a distant cousin pictured above). Bengals like to feel the earth beneath their feet. Charlie can't accept that he's an indoor cat, so every few months, he breaks through the screen on the screened porch, and he uses his "free" time to explore the property. That's really dangerous, as he found out when he scaled a neighbor's fence and fell into their swimming pool.

When I can, I put his pretty blue leash on him, and we go for a stroll around the yard. He loves that!

Charlie made a break for freedom last weekend, and he has been grounded ever since. No porch visits, which meant no mouse hunting. He has been miserable - until last night. A friend fixed the screen where Charlie had separated it from its heavily stapled frame. Now, he's happy, but we will count the days until he breaks out again. He should have been named Harry.

It's time for the Friday Form again! Most of you know, we "share" information in The Friday Forum. Are you using a fabulous product and want to sing its praises? Tell us about it! Did you find a beauty product disappointing? Tell us why! Do you have questions others might be able to answer? We can help! Want to talk about skin care? I'm game! Just use the comments. We have busy weekends and slow ones on the forum. Either way, I always enjoy hearing from you.

As usual, I will share beauty bits with you over the weekend. I'll put them in the comments, so check for free shipping offers and other treats from beauty companies.

The microphone is yours!

  1. How did he get out of the pool?

  2. That's literally a bone-chilling story, Karen.

I discovered he had broken out and immediately ran outside screaming for him. He answered with a feeble meow, not his usual big mouthy Bengal voice. He was huddled next to the porch, soaked to the bone. I brought him in and towel dried him for a long time. That's when I saw that his claw tips were shredded.

Charlie's vet and I assume that after he fell in, he clawed himself out of the pool - somehow. He came back over the fence and waited for me at the porch.

    It was so scary.

  3. I'm so glad that Charlie is okay. How scary!

I'm late to the forum, but I want to ask about bronzers. I've ignored them all this time, but I'm ready to try them out. How do you choose one? I'm cool toned (dark blonde hair/blue-gray eyes/MAC NW20), and I'm afraid of looking orange. I'd appreciate any help!

  4. Kathy, the only way is to try them - in person. Some that claim not to be orange turn orange on me within five minutes.

I always look at them. You know how some look like mud in a pan? Those aren't going to work! You need one that has a little pink in it to compliment your complexion. If you can see the pink pigment, more than likely, it's going to work.

Some of the multi-toned bronzers are great because they have stripes or a melange of colors. Those are easier to order online than single-toned ones.

Also, use a blusher that's just a few shades too dark for you, rather than a bronzer. Pick the right color family, and you'll get that nice summer glow from the blusher.

Sorry - I don't think my response is much help! Readers?

Oh, and if you call Loyd, tell him this. Armani will have one for you.
