Alex Chantecaille Special Appearance and a Drawing for BTiB Readers

Beauty Event Alert - Alex Chantecaille is coming to town! Alex is the Chantecaille family's Director of Sales, and she will be making a special appearance at Neiman Marcus at Tysons Galleria all day on Saturday, December 4.

Alex travels the world, training the Chantecaille staff at the stores. She also manages the Chantecaille Energy Spa at Barneys New York, overseeing a diverse menu of treatments that embody the Chantecaille approach to skin care and holistic healing.

With her French family, experience living in Mexico and Italy, and a degree in art history from Barnard College, Alex has already burnished her credentials as an expert in international culture and languages - she's learning her fifth!

Alex has a deep connection with nature and loves outdoor sports. Even more impressive to me, she has a passion for environmental causes, including marine conservation and wildlife and fish sustainability. She is actively involved in Chantecaille's corporate philanthropy efforts, including the Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary Foundation and the Pew Institute for Ocean Science. Wouldn't it be fun to meet her?You can next weekend if you live anywhere near DC! Alex will be at Neiman Marcus all day, showing customers the newest Chantecaille treasures for holiday (such as Les Macarons Face Palette shown above) and helping us look our best with Chantecaille. Chantecaille representative Alicia Cortes would be pleased to make an appointment with Alex for you. There are a few slots left. I made my appointment weeks ago - I wouldn't miss a Chantecaille event!

Call (703) 761-1600 and ask for the Chantecaille counter. Make sure to mention Best Things in Beauty! There will be a very special drawing for blog readers, and you must mention the blog to qualify for the drawing.

Don't live near DC? You'll have a chance to enter the contest too. I'll let you know how tomorrow, when I give you the details on the prize and how you can enter from afar. I wanted to share this special opportunity with you before the store's regulars fill up all the slots.

Update: If you can't get Alicia, ask for Kathy Shoreman. You will want to ensure you are recorded as a BTiB reader!

  1. Oh Charlestongirl! You are so lucky to get to meet her: I admire this family very much and I love both their philosophy and their gorgeous make-up! I wish we could see them more in France and most of all, I'd like to know why it is so difficult to find Chantecaille products here: only in Paris at the Bon Marché and no website with deliveries to France...
If you remember do you think you could ask Alex? I am really curious...but please don't bother if you don't feel like it:-)

  2. Oh Clarisse, I will definitely ask her! In fact, I'll print your comment and take it to her.

Let me know what you want. I can get it for you and send it. I want a Lancome eye shadow we can't buy here. Perhaps we can do a swap? It's called Erika F.

Maybe during this part of the year, I can get a box to you safely!

  3. No problem: just let me know what this Erika F Lancôme eye-shadow looks like: I am afraid I've not heard about it!
In any case I'll go to Paris on the 9th so I'll be able to find it there!

  4. I've just Googled Erika F: it's a silver-green mettallic eyeshadow, isn't it? I can't find it on the French Lancôme website but I guess I should find it in the Lancôme Institute, Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré in Paris!

  5. Yes, it's silver with a touch of green. Here is the link to The Non-Blonde's review: http://thenonblonde.blogspot.com/2010/11/lancome-erika-f-ombre-absolue-eyeshadow.html

Let me know what I can pick up for you!

  7. Chantecaille is one of my favorite cosmetic companies - and not just for the reasons Charlestongirl listed! Have you ever experienced their fragrances? Three of my favorite fragrances of all time are Petales, Frangipane and Tiare - all by Chantecaile.
Petales starts off with the sweet smell of gardenias. After about thirty minutes, Petales will take you through a flower garden filled with Gardenias, balsam, jasmine and tuberose. Then, the drydown of sweet floral scent is calmed down with basenotes of cedar, ambergris, sandalwood and the soft scent of musk. Frangipane by Chantecaille is a oriental floral fragrance for women. Top notes are water hyacinth, violet leaf and orange; middle notes are jasmine, incense, ylang-ylang and frangipani; base notes are amber, musk and vanilla. Tiare by Chantecaille, launched in 2004,features cyclamen, red rose, tiare flower, jasmine, bergamot, ylang-ylang and lily-of-the-valley. If you are a floral fragrance fan, you will love these scents. Chantecaille follows in the footsteps of other great cosmetic companies that produce legendary fragrances, such as Guerlain, Dior, and of course, Chanel.
I cannot wait to meet Alex Chantecaille, and ask her how her company creates such magical fragrances!

  8. Hi Miss Brahms, check out my fairly recent review of Petales. It was love at first whiff. :) My favorite-ever Chantecaille fragance.
