Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color SPF 12
Bobbi Brown Rich Lip Color ($22) is brand new - so new that the SKU wasn't in the Neiman Marcus computer yet! My friends at Neiman Marcus Tysons Galleria took care of me, though, entering the code and price by hand. They knew how badly I wanted to try these new, bright, get-noticed lipsticks!
Rich Lip Color SPF 12 is lightweight, but intense. Hard to believe that those two contrasting adjectives apply, but they do. Bobbi's latest formula combines pigments with a clear base to deliver pure, crisp color with just one swipe. Plus, it's creamy and moisturizing, so lips feel as good as they look. Rich Lip Color is available in 12 beautiful shades.
I selected four to start. I got three (one hasn't arrived at the store yet). I have tried Guava, Rose Blossom, and Mod Pink. Heather Pink is the fourth one I wanted that hasn't arrived. It will - maybe later this week.
I took my photo outdoors in full sun. I swiped each lipstick twice, which isn't necessary to get nice coverage. I simply wanted to ensure a vivid photo. Guava, at the top, is a gorgeous rosy shade with a hint of peach - seriously, just a hint that warms it up. Rose Blossom, in the middle, is rose through and through - great name for the shade. Mod Pink, at the bottom in the photo, is a lovely saturated pink. I love all three shades and would have a very hard time trying to select a favorite!
These lipsticks, as promised, feel good on the lips. They are definitely long-wearing. I can tell you that even though I just received them. Anytime I can't wash off swatches with soap and water and need instead to reach for Bobbi Brown's Instant Long-Wear Makeup Remover, the color is going to last. How long will vary, depending on your habits. My frequent Kleenex use in the winter will reduce the wearing time of any lipstick.
I really love the sheen of these colors. They aren't sparkly, but they do add a nice, plumping gleam. I don't think you will feel you need to add gloss over them - but gloss addicts may anyhow.
Rich Lip Color is arriving in stores now. Nordstrom has the new lipsticks (you can see them online if you don't have a store nearby) - in addition to Neiman Marcus in-store and online. I'm sure other Bobbi Brown counters will have them soon, if they don't already. Bobbi Brown's Web site doesn't appear to offer them yet, but I'm sure it will soon too.

They do look gorgeous! It will be hard to choose between those BB and the Chantecaille which look beautiful too....But I have plenty of time to make up my mind, they haven't arrived in Paris yet...(Chantecaille products will probably be in the Bon Marché in Paris by then)
ReplyDeleteHi Clarisse!
ReplyDeleteFabulous about getting Chantecaille at Bon Marché! I know you will go nuts trying to decide what to buy (unless you have unlimited money). Wouldn't that be nice?
Let us know what you choose!
of course, I don't have an unlimited budget (wouldn't that be great?)...I'll definitely have to choose:-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, I was wondering what the coverage would be like as sometimes BB tends to go very light. The original formula for the lipstick is getting a little outdated now. The creamy lip colors have an AMAZING texture and softness how do these compare to a creamy lip color? Oh your so lucky you got to try one. I cant wait. Jane
ReplyDeleteHi Jane!
ReplyDeleteI find them comparable to the Creamy Lip Color. Maybe a tad less creamy. Definitely much nicer than the original lipsticks, which I found drying. I need very hydrating color!
You picked the 3 colors that I want! Thanks for the swatches, now I don't have to wonder. I'm off to Nordies tomorrow night to pick these exact 3 shades up.
ReplyDeleteThanks again!!
Hi Soni!
ReplyDeleteAren't they pretty? Have fun tomorrow!
You always swatch the best shades! I trust you to pick my shades sight unseen.
ReplyDeleteI've tried them and I LOVE them!! I think they are lighter weight than creamy lipcolor and feel almost like nothing on your lips...except they don't feel dry, the color wears exceptionally well, and they are gorgeous on!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lucy, check out Heather Pink too. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Mama Val!
ReplyDeleteThank you for helping to describe these nice, new lipsticks!
These beautiful shades look like the answer to my "what will I wear this spring for color" question. Thank you for sharing the latest Bobbi Brown goodies.
