Weekend Roundup - March 5

Want to look your best? We've got some ideas for you in this week's beauty roundup! From celebrity makeup to yours, these features may give you some ideas.

We all seem to love watching what celebrities wear on the red carpet - and we're still talking about it. Kari shared how the celebs over 40 fared at the Oscars at Fab over Forty. They certainly looked as good as the 20-somethings.

We all want long, natural eyelashes that look "built-in." Find out at Daly Beauty whether Jane found a great mascara for perfect lashes.

Are you ready for an island escape after this dreadful winter? Gaia at The Non-Blonde showed us a bit of summer with Estée Lauder's Island Oasis Eye Shadow Palette.

The much-anticipated new Chanel foundation, Vitalumière Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting Makeup, is in stores. I tested it and shared my thoughts here at Best Things in Beauty.

Amy was busy swatching all the Chanel Vitalumière Aqua foundation shades (busy gal!). Find the one that may work for your skin tone at Café Makeup. Then go to the store to try it.

NARS Illuminator in Orgasm was a huge hit, so NARS has added new shades. Sabrina swatched and shared her thoughts on them at The Beauty Look Book. I bought all three and am loving them!

Carla has been relying on Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils to simplify her morning routine. Check out her favorite shades and tips at Product Girl. Check - love these also!

What does one wear to a special event as important as the Independent Spirit Awards? Kelly gave us the scoop on her preparations at Gouldylox Reviews. Make sure to "start" her weight-loss journey with her while you are visiting.

Like Kari and Kelly, Anne from BeautyXposé was asked to be an Aveeno Ambassador. She shared the incredible experience she had with Aveeno and Exhale Spa in Los Angeles (color me green with envy).

Our personal shopper, DivaDebbi, is a red carpet fan. Debbi dished on the good, the bad, and the well...you decide!

Hope you enjoy your weekend. Going to do any beauty shopping after you read the roundup? I will. I want to try Jane's fave mascara.

  1. Greetings Ms Charlestongirl !
I love the weekend roundup and loved what I read about the Kiehls mascara! I wanted to pick your beauty brain to see if you had any update as to when Chanel Rouge Coco Shine was going to be fully launched. I have read that it would be April and then I started hearing within a couple weeks. As a true Chanel Beauty lover and a lover of glossy, balmy , sheer lipsticks I purchased Boy last month.
March is rainy, gray and muddy where I live and this is going to lift my spirits until the sun shines on me again.
Any inside scoop you have would be much appreciated.
    Thank you so much,
    Jenny P.

  2. Hi Jenny,

I will ask one of my Chanel contacts and comment again. Usually when an April launch date is set, the company knows how long distribution will take, and they build in some extra time. It would not surprise me at all, particularly given the demand, if Shine shows up at the efficient stores this month. Ask your Chanel rep to let you know the second the colors arrive.

Have you tried the new Dior Addict formula at Sephora? If you like Boy, you will love it! There are some features I like better, although the Chanel color lasts longer.

Going to be grey here today. A warm rain just started. Prediction for 1-2 inches.

Glad you love the roundup! It's a labor of love. Thanks!

  3. Here's the deal, Jenny.

The stores will be receiving the Shines in mid-March, and supposedly they can pre-sell, but they aren't supposed to let them out of their hands until April x. I forget, but I think x was about the 8th.

I bet some store blows away those rules. :)
