I lost my dad eleven years ago and miss him now as much as when he passed. The thing that gets me through Father's Day is the overwhelming sense of gratitude that he was my father (he was truly one of the kindest men I have ever met) and that one day I will be with him again.

ReplyDeleteI don't think the heartbreak of losing a parent ever goes away. We do remember the happy times, the funny times, all the love that's just too painful to write on Father's Day.
I'm planning a big reunion. If there's a God, would he deny us that?
