The radiant Armani Glow, with the skin cloaked in light, enhances the natural highlights of the skin without distorting and emphasizes our features without exaggerating. Light is magnified by the finest materials, with Armani's Micro-fil technology at the heart, that create "real cosmetic weaves, translucent, ethereal veils of color, layered to create the perfect aura."
Designer Lift will transcend the glow we've come to expect from Armani foundations with full coverage in a feather-light texture. It will drape the skin in a new cosmetic textile: an extremely fine, extendable mesh, inspired by stretch fabrics - smooth and voluptuous. It promises to create a second-skin sensation and provide long-lasting comfort and wear.
The smoothing and sculpting effect has been created with a duo of optical fillers, which are velvety powders - one satiny, the other matte - that play with reflections of light to blur imperfections, intensify radiance, and enhance natural facial contours. It will provide an instant lifting effect, achieved with a "liquid powder" that forms an ultra-fine toning network on the surface of the skin.
Designer Lift has a rich, emollient formula that will leave the skin plumper and denser, reinforced by adenosine, which restructures the dermal matrix, and the antioxidant vitamin E. There's added value in the SPF 20 PA +++ for sun protection. Armani promises 12-hour rejuvenating effects.
An unexpected blue pearlizer is being introduced with the Designer Lift formula. A precise, finely dosed Prussian blue will make white more luminous and enhance black, making both colors appear more pure. The black and white fillers (indispensable in any foundation formula) are less dull as a result. On the skin, it has an instant visual appeal, correcting irregularities and making the skin appear smoother, translucently luminous, fresh - as if light were emanating from the skin. All of the pearlizers in Designer Lift reflect as much light as they receive.
There will be 10 available shades. Designer Lift will blend seamlessly with any skin tone.
- For light tones, there's a blue-tinged pearlizer, which counteracts a yellow complexion.
- For medium shades, there's a touch of pink pearlizer for a real boost of freshness (simulating the skin's microcirculation).
- For dark hues, a gold pearlizer will brighten the complexion and accentuate its radiance
Linda Cantello, International Makeup Artist for Giorgio Armani Cosmetics, says the feather-light texture will allow the face to glow without creating a mask-like effect or emphasizing the slightest wrinkle. She recommends dabbing it into the T-zone, particularly the nose and lip contour areas, then smoothing outwards across the face using the dedicated brush, the Designer Lift Brush.
Designer Lift will be available in October at Giorgio Armani Beauty's Web site, Armani Fifth Avenue, and fine department stores, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, and Barneys. I hope that really means soon.

This new foundation sounds so promising! Too bad it won't be out until October. I have an appointment with Rhona Samuels Saturday at Saks. It would be nice to give it a test run.
ReplyDeleteHow's Charlie?
Hi Ava!
ReplyDeleteI am supposed to see Rhona too on Saturday. Alas, we won't see the foundation that day. I know I want it.
I just got back from our third trip to the vet in a week. Last night was horrible - four hours sleep b/c I was watching him to ensure he didn't get out of the collar that kept him from licking the wound. Now, the doctor just opened up the gland which had started to scab over and flushed out all the infection. That should help him feel better soon, I hope. He is beyond stressed out, and so am I. He isn't wearing the collar right now, and I only have to put it back on if he starts to lick excessively. Thanks for asking! This was probably TMI.
The Armani Glow concept with the pearlizers in the foundation is interesing. I just started using LSF and I am loving it. This one sounds even better.
ReplyDeleteHi Rola, I think LSF is a wonderful foundation. I believe this one will provide slightly more coverage. I agree, those pearlized pigments sound intriguing!
ReplyDeleteI having searching for a new foundation in the beginning of the year after using Armani for so long, but in the end, I go back to LSF. I am Chinese with fair to medium skin tone, and somehow, Armani is the only brand that looks most natural on me, and doesn't break me out. I guess it proves one more time that the best is with me all along... I can't wait to try the new Designer lift for evenings when I want a little bit more coverage but still want to look natural. Thanks for the prview.

Hi Daisy!
ReplyDeleteHope you like it! We are all excited about this one. :)
Too bad it's another "moisturizing" formula. Their formulations are too silicone-laden and wet for me. They never dry down at all.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, if you don't like silicone, you should try the LMdB foundation. You may love it.
ReplyDeleteYour doggie had an anal gland infection? My baby had one burst and heal them the other other burst as the other healed. It's like having a real kid I say! The cone is in the trash, dog tore it up! He is now fully healed :) now he eats extra fiber everyday, haha.
ReplyDeleteBTW, the foundation sounds amazing! i need to make an appointment!
Janine, yes, my cat did have that infection, which occurred after a GI infection. Same deal, although he was already being treated, one burst. What kind of fiber do you give your dog? Cats are so picky!
ReplyDeleteMake sure the foundation has arrived before you make that appointment. :)
I can't wait to try this! Do you know when it will be available in the UK?
ReplyDeleteI wish I knew when it was going to be available in the US! We still have nothing here but a tester.
ReplyDeleteof which skin type is the designer lift suitable for?.. thank you!
ReplyDeleteIt's designed for all skin types. I have dry skin, and it works nicely. A friend has combo skin, and she loves it. I haven't spoken with anyone who has oily skin, but it should provide a mattifying effect for oily types. Not sure about oily, though.
