Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Exclusive - La Fertive

Has this caught your eye? There's a nude/beige shade of Chanel's new Rouge Allure Velvet ($32) available only at Chanel.com. La Furtive looks pretty in the look photos. Click on this link to learn how to create the look below using Chanel color.
Many of us had wished for a lighter shade - one with less oomph - than the originally launched Rouge Allure Velvet colors. Now, we can buy La Furtive (#31). It's a limited edition, and it's only available at Chanel's Web site.

  1. now this is a shade I can get down with. I worry about the formula, though. It seemed very drying in the store. Do you know if they'll release this shade at counters at a later date?

  2. I don't know, BlushingNoir. Sometimes those exclusives eventually make their way into the stores.

  3. I was worried about the formula too but I was surprised to find that it's not drying at all, at least on me, and my lips hate matte lipsticks they crack like crazy. While I like the Rouge Cocos, I find them drying compared to these. I might get this one, I was thinking I needed something more beige because I have way too many pink & red lipsticks. :)

  4. This looks like something we would have worn in the late sixties-early seventies. Remember Ultima II's The Nakeds collection? It was all about sculpting with neutral, natural colors. I believe it was Kevyn Aucoin who was the artistic director for that one. Hugely influential!

  5. I agree with you Evelyn. I find the Rouge Coco drying, but this one felt pretty good.

  6. Gosh, Eileen, I hope it has more color than what we wore then. Those are just too light for me now.

I'd love to see it in person. The teeny tiny square online gives it a touch of pink. I doubt I'll order - too much trouble to return it if I take a look and don't like the way it looks. Plus, I'm not a velvet finish gal anyhow.

  7. How do you think this color would look on us fair-skinned, blue-eyed blondies? I already own Le Exuberant, Sensuelle and Fascinante (butchered names I am sure).

  8. Nemo, I haven't seen it in person, but I would guess yes, for sure. I would want to make sure it wasn't too light for my tastes. I like a little color so that I don't look washed out.

  9. Then Charleston girl, I will wait for your final word. I recall some months ago that you thought you'd found the perfect nude in the Dolce & Gabbana fall lipstick color--Mandura?--but you ended up being extremely disappointed in it.

  10. Nemo, I don't plan to order it. I prefer Rouge Coco Shine, and I'm awaiting the spring collection, which should arrive any day.

  11. For those who are worried about these lipsticks drying..... no! believe me, I have the driest lips and this makes them nice and smooth and moisturised.

  12. Oh, Can't wait, just can't wait, for the CHANEL spring! I will buy 2 of the wine eye pencils and 2 of the plum lipstick.

  13. a nice alternative is shiseido mat lipstick. only 6 colours but all very subtle and nice. no need to say they don't fry lips either.
