Chanel Rouge Double Intensité in Rose Topaz - Rouge Harmonie de Printemps Collection for Spring 2012
Chanel's Harmonie de Printemps Collection for Spring 2012 brought us a new shade in Rouge Double Intensité Ultra Wear Lip Colour ($34): Rose Topaz. I purchased one at Neiman Marcus. The plum-rose shade is perfect for me.
Glorious long-lasting color paired with high-shine gloss delivers full-coverage color that lasts all day. The glossy top coat imparts brilliant shine and superb hydration, while the innovative fluid texture of the base color coat applies smoothly, comfortably, with perfect adherence to lips - and no transferring or feathering.
Everything Chanel says about Rouge Double Intensité is true. This liquid lip color is amazingly long-lasting. The dual wand offers color on one end and a clear, shiny topper on the other. Wear the liquid color alone, topped with the top coat, or topped with a Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimer. The result will be stunning.
I took my photos of Rose Topaz in full sun. For my swatch photos, I applied the lip color alone at the top of my arm. Below that, I applied both the lip color and the glossy top coat, which lightened the overall look of Rose Topaz.
I was able to snap photos with two different angles to the sun - one with direct sunshine on the swatch above and the other with lots of light, but without the direct sun that provides such a shiny finish. The truth lies somewhere in between. The lip color has a fairly matte finish, but once you add the top coat, you get shine and a hydrating feel.
The amazing thing (to me) about Rouge Double Intensité is its long wear. It lasts about a half-day on me! It takes a lot of effort to completely remove Rouge Double Intensité. Soap and water are not effective, although time, eating, drinking, and talking can be. I had to use a long-wear makeup remover to take off every last trace of color from my arm after swatching Rose Topaz. My experience has been the same with other shades in this fantastic formula.
You should be able to find Chanel's Harmonie de Printemps Collection for Spring 2012 at your favorite Chanel counter. The collection is now available online at Chanel online.

This is such a pretty shade but I do have a weakness for the anything rose:)
ReplyDeleteHi Emm!
ReplyDeleteI sure like the shade. It has enough color to give my face color, but not too much to make me feel like I'm leading with my lips. :)
I wish we got this in the UK !

Gosh, Anne, I thought everyone in Europe got Chanel before we did. No one offers it? Online?
ReplyDeleteThe only way to get it (as far as I know !) is to buy from the U.S. and ship :( Perhaps one day we'll get it too. Until then I'll admire the pics :)

No, unfortunately we don't get Chanel before you do (or even at the same time).
ReplyDeleteThe Holiday collection went on sale fairly recently and it will be at least 2 months before we get the Spring collection. Even then we won't be getting this beautiful Rouge Double Intensité. For some reason they don't sell that formula in Europe.
The gorgeous blush Tweed Brun Rosé from the Holiday collection wasn't launched here either. :(
This looks very similar to the new Destinee RC. Do you think it's the same sahde, just in a different formula?
ReplyDeleteHi Anonymous, I think they are totally different colors - and it is hard to compare such different formulas.
