Beauty Event at Neiman Marcus
Savvy beauty shoppers know that Neiman Marcus Beauty Event is approaching - soon. From Thursday, February, 23, through Sunday, March 4, the event offers you the opportunity to take home a tote, including an assortment of beauty samples, with your cosmetics or fragrance purchase or $100 or more. At a special event at Neiman Marcus Mazza Gallerie last week, I received the gold bag, and I love it. You now how it is with some of these totes. They make perfect giveaways to your cleaning lady, right? Not this tote! I'm going to use it.
The samples in the bag include some of my favorites. Electron, the latest fragrance from A DOZEN ROSES, joins Tom Ford's Neroli Portofino to help you define your scent style. Who doesn't like Kate Somerville's Clinic-To-Go Pads? While none of the "free" samples are generous, they offer a nice assortment of products.
For those who plan to spend with abandon, I'm looking at a three-page, fine-print list of gifts with purchase. Many of them have a high spending bar. If you plan to buy the brand anyhow, why not stretch a little to get the gift?
My favorites include gifts from Bobbi Brown ($150 minimum purchase - all subsequent amounts here in parentheses are the minimum purchase to receive the gift), Cartier ($125), Chantecaille ($150, I need to call my favorite rep), Clé de Peau Beauté ($300), Clinique ($65), Elie Saab ($100), Fresh ($100 or $125), Kate Somerville ($200), Le Métier de Beauté ($125), Maison Francis Kurkdjian ($185), Natura Bissé ($300), NEST (limit unknown), RéVive ($650), and Sisley-Paris ($300).
The list is long. Make sure to check it out at your favorite Neiman Marcus. Do it soon. Popular stores have been known to run out of the totes.

The event already started online yesterday! I was able to order the items I wanted, get my free bag and free gift with purchase. I received an e-mail today letting me know my items shipped!
ReplyDeleteYea! Good deal and great shopping, Unknown!
ReplyDeleteI went to the event at Bellevue last night it was a preview night. I bought the new fragrance Valentina- its gorgeous. Kris in Seattle
ReplyDeleteWhat was actually IN your bag? I was truly disappointed in the Saks bag - all were the tiniest of samples the counters give away free for the asking. The bag was pretty hideous too. Barney's bag contents were better but still nothing worth the $200 qualifying limit. So that's why I'm asking what's actually IN the bag before I venture over to NM. Gotta know it's worth my while even if the $100 qualifying limit is easy to reach.
ReplyDeleteHi Kris!
ReplyDeleteI love Valentina! Have a whole bunch of samples, which I've been wearing, but think I must cave and buy a full bottle. It's beautiful.
Karen, I totally agree: the Saks bag was hideous. My favorite Saks employee told me the samples were "drek." :)
ReplyDeleteHere are the official contents of the NM bag.

I really appreciate you listing out the bag contents. Thanks. Is Nordies doing a bag event this year? I know they do Trend Shows but can't recall if they also do a bag event.
ReplyDeleteThanks AGAIN :)
Hi Karen,
ReplyDeleteThere are trend shows coming up, but Nordstrom seems to have backed off those big bags filled with samples.
I ventured over to NM last night with my "list" in hand. I only wanted to qualify for the bag and the goodies but you can probably see where this is going. I had my heart set on a specific NARS blush but, sadly, this NM had no NARS counter. I wandered around and found myself in front of the Le Metier de Beaute counter. That was all she wrote.
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I'd never even swatched a single LMdB item before? {faints} How is it possible I was a complete LMdB virgin? I fell in love with many things and the SA was delightfully helpful. I settled on two eye shadows and a lipstick. All are amazing.
I definitely have a new love - LMdB!!!
