Rouge Coco Shine in Brilliant from the Las Vegas de Chanel Collection
Completing my short series featuring Chanel's Las Vegas de Chanel Collection, which was lauched exclusively at the Chanel de Bellagio Boutique, the Rouge Coco Shine in Brilliant ($32.50) offers color like my favorite gold lip glosses. It's gold, shiny, and sheer - the prefect complement to the rest of the Las Vegas de Chanel Collection.
Rouge Coco Shine is a beautiful, lasting, moisturizing, sheer, shiny lip color with an incredible lightweight texture. From Chanel..."Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Sheer Lipshine provides lasting moisturizing shine in a water-light texture. The formula glides on for quick and easy application, and a unique Hydratendre complex hydrates and softens lips, giving them a healthier and fuller appearance."
Brilliant is a shade unlike any other Rouge Coco Shine shade I own. It's gold. The other shades offer an expected lip color. Brilliant is also extremely sheer - more sheer, I think, than many of the Rouge Coco Shine shades. The only comparison I can make is to gold lip glosses.
I took my swatch photos in full sun. What you see is exactly what Brilliant offers - a sheer wash of shimmering gold color. Brilliant feels great on the lips, but doesn't offer much pigmentation. On my lips, with light-to-medium natural pigmentation, the gold is stunning. It's ultra-shiny and very pretty. I have enough natural rose in my lips to rock this shade.
I did not purchase the Precision Lip Definer in Vegas Gold. Now I wish I had. I'd love to see how it would enhance this Brilliant Rouge Coco Shine - brilliant in name and appearance.
Would you wear a gold lipstick? The Las Vegas de Chanel Collection has been available exclusively at Chanel's Bellagio Boutique. Gloria helped me. You can reach her at (702) 765-5505 if you'd like to order any of the four pieces in the collection - or, naturally, anything Chanel offers.

I used to have another Chanel gold lipstick (standard formula maybe 6-7 years ago?) that I would layer with reds to soften them. It was something I learned from a Chanel artist. Maybe I should try this again with this Rouge Coco Shine. I bet it would look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, Karen! I do that with gloss. I'm sure the same trick will work with Brilliant. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWow, that is super super sheer! xx
ReplyDeleteOh Yes I want that and the Gold lipliner. I would use the lipliner to highlight my upper lip. I love Rouge Coco Shines and having a sheer gold one will be perfect!
ReplyDeleteVery cool looking, but I don't think I could pull it off.
ReplyDeleteHi Sian!
ReplyDeleteIt is super-sheer, just like most gloss. You have to like sheer to appreciate it. :)
Hey there, Nancy,
ReplyDeleteI wish I had bought the liner! I don't want to pay shipping to get it now, though. This time, I made a bad call. :)
Hi Leticia!
ReplyDeleteIt's not for everyone. At first, I was taken aback by how sheer and gold it looks on my lips. It grew on me - quickly!
Like Karen, I've always used gold as a layering color. It's stunning over red, tangerine, bright coral or pink, etc. The Shine formula would make a nice option for those women who don't particularly like the feel of a gloss so long as it cooperates when applied over lipstick. Hmmmm . . . I should try layering with one of my Shines and see how it goes.
ReplyDeletegorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThey are going to have the collection on chanel.com eventually. Maybe they'll have a shipping code at that time or you'll want additional items to meet the FS for $100?
ReplyDeleteIt's so pretty in the tube, I almost want to get it just to look at it. Do you know how this compares to Dior Or Etoile?
