Please Make This Blush!
Dear Beauty Companies,
Please make a blush the color of this redbud tree's blossoms - a pink with a touch of lavender. I'd prefer a cream with gleam and glow, not serious shimmer. It should blend effortlessly and stay put all day. I don't think I have a cream blush this color, and I'd really love to add one to my collection. Le Métier de Beauté's beautiful Mystique is pretty close in color, but a bit too light for what I envision. If it could do double duty, like Le Métier de Beauté's Crème Fresh Tints for Lips and Cheeks or Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouge, that would be fabulous.
A liquid would be fun too - something like BY TERRY's Rose de Rose Sheer Liquid Blush or Guerlain's Terracotta Blush Sun Shimmer Highlighter. Just not too shimmery, please. Something like Giorgio Armani Beauty's Liquid Sheer would also be fun - not a blush exactly, but a gorgeous face highlighter.
If we can't do a cream or liquid, a powder blush will be OK, as long as it has a creamy texture and no powdery fall-out. It has to last all day too. No color fade, please.
Thank you for considering my request.
Warmly,
Charlestongirl
P.S. I'm hoping my readers can point me to just the right shade to save you the trouble of development. Maybe they can also add some ideas for features.

I actually have an old Rock and Republic blush (shade is Tease) that looks like that shade on me!
ReplyDeleteCan I second that request? :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with your request wholeheartedly. That would be a beautiful blush colour :D
ReplyDeleteSigh. Such a gorgeous color! Unfortunately, I can't verify this because I don't own the blush (yet :-)), but Sunday Riley's blush in Dimples looks like it could be a contender. Sorry it's a powder, not a cream though!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Charlestongirl! I don't think I've ever seen such a shade for a blush before! That's a great idea:-)
ReplyDeleteAdele,
ReplyDeleteI am sure there are similar blushes, hidden away in my house. I guess I'd like a new one! :)
Absolutely, Evelyn! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteGirl's Guide,
ReplyDeleteMaybe we can start a movement. :)
Lisa,
ReplyDeleteI must investigate! I love my Sunday Riley blushes.
Clarisse,
ReplyDeleteDon't you think having a cream would be extra-special?
What a great idea. I love it. The colors are gorgeous and I love cream blushes.
ReplyDeleteI purchased the lavender liquid blush from YSL spring 2012 and I think it fits your request. For some reason YSL thought the color would not fly here in the US. I had to make the dreaded call to HK for international shipment. Triple the price but I'm making it work!
ReplyDeleteHi Charleston Girl!
ReplyDeleteThis is not exactly a lip product per se, but OCC Cosmetics has a new Lip Tar called Digitalis that is described as a "pink-tinged lavender". I've read that you can use it as a cream blusher as well (it also says that on their website). Anyway, it's probably not quite what you were looking for-but I was browsing online and found it and thought of you!
I'm always after lavender/lilac/purple hued blushes too! as they look great on my (asian) skin, i look fairer. Here's some lavender blushes in my lineup:
ReplyDelete- Benefit I Lotus-ed you looking (LE, Discontinued)
- Shu Uemura glow-on blush in M pink 33B and M pink 33C, 33C is less vibrant than 33B but both are pastel lilacs
- Topshop cream blush in Crushed Berry (a bit too purple than lilac IMO)
- Etude House Miss Tangerine Cream Choux Blusher in #4 (pretty lilac!)
- MAC Madly Magenta (more purple than lilac still)
:) hail to lavender hues!

oh and i left out:
ReplyDeleteMAC mineralized blush in Sakura
MAC blush ombre in Azalea Blossom (only the lilac part though)
I'm also eyeing their blush in "Full of Joy" from upcoming Tres Cheek collection as it was described as lavender frost pink! :)
What an incredibly pretty idea! I wonder how this would look? Fascinated :-)
ReplyDeleteYou mean like this YSL Blush Radiance in no. 3? (They're not named only numbered). They were introduced in the Midnight Garden collection from the summer, not sure if they're limited edition or not in the states; we still have them here in the UK.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it would make a very pretty blusher! Fresh and unique. Oh I may've just convinced myself; might have to get it now (I have the red, no. 5 - I adore reds!)

Jenni,
ReplyDeleteI have some serious color swatching to do. Thank you for the suggestions!
Hi Lovethescents,
ReplyDeleteI have never participating in designing a blush, but I know you pick a color, and a formulator creates a few tries. Shouldn't be THAT hard. Just takes money.
Hey there, Leila,
ReplyDeleteThat post had no swatches? Hard to tell with just looking at the color in the compact. I think I passed on that one - was too purple.
Hi, yes, I also saw the upcoming Mac blush "Full of Joy" in the 'Tres Cheek Collection for summer 2012', and thought it might be a good colour match (perhaps more purple though(?)). It looks like the girl in the promo ad is wearing it.
ReplyDeleteThere's also YSL's Radiance Blush in #3?
Pretty colour. Good luck finding the right one! ^_^
FYI, Temptalia.com just released swatches of the MAC 'Full of Joy' blush here: http://www.temptalia.com/mac-tres-cheek-blushes-swatches-sneak-peek?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Temptalia+%28Temptalia%29
ReplyDeleteLooks to be a good match to the blossoms, right? ;)
Sorry it didn't have swatches, I was posting on my phone, so looking for other posts was a pain. It's just that I was immediately reminded of that one.
ReplyDeleteI suppose if you can't find a proper blusher, you could always try eyeshadow?
Leila
Is the MAC Tres Cheek Full of Joy what you are looking for? :)
ReplyDeleteI'd post the link from lesleyrocksface.com because her swatch there looks like the blush you want. :)
Id love this color too =)
Oh, and please tell me - do I or do I not get Tumulte? I have Narcisse and i love it.
