Sephora + PANTONE UNIVERSE Color of the Year Lip Gloss Set Giveaway Contest
I showed you Sephora's new, limited-edition Sephora + PANONE UNIVERSE Lip Gloss Set ($20) yesterday. If you aren't sure about tangerine, here's a no-risk offer to take you into spring and summer. I'm going to give one away! If you didn't catch the swatches that show the variety of colors and finishes, just scroll down or click here.
How can you enter to win this contest (technically a sweepstakes)? Just leave a comment on this feature (not in another BTiB post). We'll do something a little bit different. Tell us, please, what do you think of the color of the year? Are you comfortable wearing orange tones? Are you trying to overcome your resistance, as I did? Your answer won't affect your chance to win, but it will tell us how many orange phobes are out there.
After you comment here, feel free to send me an e-mail at bestthingsinbeautycontests@gmail.com (the contest address, not my "personal" e-mail) and identify your comment. You can never be too careful about sharing an e-mail address you care about on a blog, so feel free to follow this step (an alternative is to code your e-mail, e.g., myname at gmail dot com, in your comment). Please make sure I have your e-mail. If I can't notify you, you can't win - even if your number is drawn.
You can earn extra entries. Follow this blog (through an e-mail subscription, GFC, or though one of the many Google readers - see sidebar at right) to earn a second entry. If you are a follower, it would help me tally entries if you tell me in your comment how you follow. You don't have to follow to enter. I want everyone to have a chance, but I also want to reward my followers. I must be able to track this entry.
You can earn a third entry by tweeting this contest. You must include "@BTiBeauty" (without the quotes) and the contest title in your tweet. Remember, tweet the contest title - if you don't, that entry won't count. I will tweet the contest this evening, and you can simply retweet it to earn that second entry - if that's easier.
The deadline for entries will be Saturday, March 31, at midnight. The next morning, I will use a random number generator (random.org) to select the winner. I will e-mail the winner on Sunday morning. The winner will have 48 hours to reply to my message and provide a shipping address. After 48 hours, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be selected. Make sure to check your e-mail - and look in your spam folder - when the contest ends.
This contest is open to anyone anywhere. Here are the terms. I will carefully pack and ship the prize (as I always do). I cannot insure the prize for overseas shipment - it's amazingly expensive to do so because of the way I have to send insured mail. If it's lost or stolen in transit, I may not be able to replace it with another prize just like it. I'll do my best on this end; let's see if your mail service does right by you on the other end if we have an overseas winner.
For all the legalese related to this contest, please see the Contests/Sweepstakes page at the top of the blog. Good luck!

I'm not comfortable with orange, but it looks so pretty! I think that I just have to jump in and try it because it is supposed to be good with my coloring.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the drawing! I follow on Google reader and email subscription.

I love orange toned blushes, and always gravitate towards them during summer. Nars Taj Majal is one of my favorites, as well as a powder coral blush from Coastal Creations.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried anything orange toned for my lips though! I want to now, it's got me intrigued. I think I would like it, I have always loved my peachy gold lip gloss from Tarte for years and years.

Ι LOVE tangerine!! It is the most adorable colour. I used to be a pinks-only kind of girl till I tried a tangerine coloured sheer lipstick. I've been hooked since and I'm sto annoyed there's not a Sephora near me where I could go and play with the colours! Thanks for giving us the chance to win this beautiful set!

There are so many different shades of orange. I'm not a fan of straight up halloween orange but I do love coral, peach, tangerine etc. (in clothing & accessories). Makeup is a little different for me. I am willing to jump in & give it a try though, as these colors are just so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this opportunity.

I'm pretty comfortable with orange/tangerine. Oranges with pinky/peach/coral tones though are great, and sheer or translucent oranges. The one more opaque orange (Tangerine Tango Vivid) looks a little intimidating but I would love to try it on!

I used to be afraid of orange gloss because I was told it makes your teeth look yellow. But a makeup artist put pure kool aid orange lip gloss on me once and it was love at first sight! my electronic correspondence goes to bari face at hot male (and you know the rest)

ReplyDeleteI love the tangerine colors - not so much orange, but the off shades of it.

I can't say I gravitate to orange, but I've found myself picking up more and more things (especially clothing) from that color family in the last year. Subconscious influence, maybe?
ReplyDeleteI actually really like muted orange shades on my lips, though only if I keep my mouth closed, lol! Orange does NOT have whitening effects.

I love orange accesssories in the summer and have begun looking for lovely peach or sheer coral for my lips. These glosses look wonderful and I'd even be willing to use that Tangerine Tango Vivid as a stain.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the draw opportunity.

The orange is very striking, but I'm not sure I could pull it off. But I love the orange color because I certainly pulled it off many years ago. lol (A muted tangerine was all the rage then.) lol

ReplyDeleteDon't know why, but I always thought and had been told that oranges/tangerines don't work well with my dark red hair...but they DO! And I love them. Absolutely!

ReplyDeleteI like orange colors because somehow because they give a glow and standout so that you are noticed by the brightness. It definitely "adds" another level of magnetisim because it is like the sun's radiance.
ReplyDeleteI'm still trying to overcome my initial hesitation to orange, but I'm intrigued by it! I'm definitely adding some tangerine/orange shades to my makeup collection for the summer!

Several years ago while in Thailand with my mom, I tried her Chanel red lipstick with orange undertones. I was shocked at how it instantly brightened my skin in the bright sunlight. All my plum shaded lipsticks had made me look washed out in the intense sunlight there.

last fall, i fell in love with Chanel's Sari Dore. I have never had orange toned lippies- instead opting for pinks, mauves, even purples at times (oh and the browns of the 90's). i am loving this trend for spring.

I don't know why but I've been having a really tough time signing into your contests. I push the comment word and nothing happens. I finally did something that allowed me to enter. Anyway, as to how I feel about this year's spring color orange? Well, being a very fair skinned redhead, orange is a color I have never thought looked good on me. I did buy the orange lipstick from sephora and although I love the color, it does take some getting used to by me and I don't feel completely comfortable wearing this color outside my home. I kind of feel like everyone is staring at my lips saying to themselves, isn't she a little too old to be wearing such a bright color. I need to get out of my comfort zone which is basically cool and soft colors of mauve, rosy pinks on my lips. But I feel in today's age, anything goes. It doesn't matter what other's think about my clothing or make up. All that matters is how I feel about it. As such, I feel this is a great time for experimentation. And what color to begin with than a bright orange.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this giveaway of an assortment of gorgeous orange glosses. They looked beautiful on your skin when you swatched them and I think I could include them into my beauty regimen slowly. It's nice to get away from one's comfort zone every once in a while. That's what life's all about, right?
