Guerlain's Météorites Perles d'Azur ($58), the must-have multi-colored little pearls, are adopting their summer wardrobe! Encased in Pucci-adorned packaging, Météorites Perles d'Azur is enriched with a corrective blue pearl to create a flawless complexion. Formulated like the classic Météorites Perles, the Perles d’Azur beautifully adapts to the demands of the sun by combining six colors that even out and correct every skin tone.

The brush pouch is shaped like an eyeglass case. It is beyond cool! The Météorites come in the beautifully lined box shown below. Love it!
It's fruitless to try to show you a finishing powder swatch, but since I took photos, I'll feature one. The powder is intended to finish your makeup application, not add color. You'll see that it adds virtually no color to my arm, just a softly sparkling finish that's neither too sparkly nor too mattifying.
I applied the Météorites extremely heavily with the companion Météorites Pucci Collector's Brush. You may be able to see the powder on my arm, probably because my photo was taken in full sun. It does add a nice "blur" to my skin, particularly attractive for those of us who have a few years we'd like to obscure.
Did I need the brush? No, but it's so darn pretty, with its blue and green case, I'm delighted to have it. These two items will rev Météorites lovers and Guerlain and Pucci collectors.
I pre-ordered my favorites from Guerlain's Emilio Pucci Terra Azzurra Collection from Bergdorf Goodman and they arrived via FedEx. Additionally, the collection is slated to arrive beginning in May at selection locations of Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Sephora, and Bloomingdale's.

ReplyDeleteI love Meteorites and I did buy these too. They really make my skin look better with out being shiny or glittery; a nice finish to my makeup of the day. :) We should all own at least 1 Meteorites!

ReplyDeleteI bought the Blue Khol! The color is great! It is blue based indigo-purple and doesn't make your eyes look red or tired! In addition, it brings out green in my eyes. I like it a lot! The Khol brings together colors of the eyeshadow quad. So, I recommend!
I agree with everything Lena said I,too have the blue kohl and it is gorgeous! I have avoided blue eyeshadow/liner, but this works so nicely on my eyes (also green). I'm considering a backup.

ReplyDeleteI am a bonafide Météorites addict! I can't resist any of the special collections so naturally I had to have the Pucci edition. Although these are meant to be a soft-focus fishing powder, they do impart a hint of color that is noticeable if your skin is fair. I can actually see a difference in the finished look. For example, Les Perles D'Or (Holiday 2010) was a beautiful pink with a hint of orchid. Les Perles de Nuit (Holiday 2011) was a warm candlelight pink. Les Perles D'Azure is a golden peach. It is the subtle difference in tint that has made addicts--ahh, collectors--out of so many of us :-) As for the brush, I think its compact size will make it perfect for travel. It seems to be a bit softer that Guerlain's regular Météorites brush (the pink one) and the Pucci case is very pretty.

It was on your blog (Time4Beauty, Russian edition) that I first saw the Guerlain collection months before it started appearing on US blogs. I don't speak a word of Russian, but your gorgeous pictures are worth a thousand words.
I've been reading the comments and (please don't think that I'm a dim-bulb) but wondered if the Pucci edition is just the same original Meteorites with the beautifully covered box? Also, how long does the new kohl(khol?) last on the waterline? I have greenish eyes but, for the record, I'm 63 yrs old and don't know if that kind of color would look bizarre (Las Vegas-ish rhinestone over-the-top ho-ish,etc.) on someone my age??! Any opinions? Thanks!

ReplyDeleteThe Météorites Perles D'Azure are different from any that I have ever seen and I've been collecting them for years! This particular iteration is quite unique.
Don't fear the Khôl Kajal :-) The Guerlain MA used it on me and there is nothing garish about it. She didn't use it on my waterline, though. Instead she applied it right up under my lower lashes and smudged it just a bit. It's not glittery or iridescent. The color itself is a rich, dark blue that leans purple. I don't know how long it would last on the waterline, but applied under my lower lashes, it remained color true all day. Perhaps some of the other readers have used it on their waterline and can speak to that.
For reference, I'm 67 and I have dark warm green eyes with black lashes.
I have the past Pucci meteorites, so I'm planning on getting these too -just collector's idea. However, I'm still thinking about the brush. It's so pretty, but I'm afraid it's not very soft, just like the regular meteorites brush. How do you find it? Is it comparable?

ReplyDeleteI love Capri! It is a beautiful interpretation of this summer's vibrant color trend. I have large eyelids and can easily handle all four colors, so the MA and I decided to do a sunset look. Here's what she did: She applied just a bit of the pearl white in a "C" from upper brow bone around to upper cheek bone and blended it out to act like a highlighter. (She didn't apply it in the inner corner because I've got some wrinkles there that definitely don't need highlighting :-P ) She then lined my upper lashes with the deep burgundy and smoked it a bit. She slightly overlapped the burgundy with the peach to create a "smolder" and then brought the color up to just slightly above my crease (I have deep set eyes). Next she took just a bit of the hot pink and overlapped the peach at the crease and blended the pink up and let it fade into the white. She then went back and put a bit more of the burgundy along my lashline to deepen the color there and ground the look. She asked if I'd like to try the new Khôl Kajal and I said sure. So, she put that right beneath my lower lashes and smudged it ever so softly. She finished off with Noir G mascara on the upper and lower lashes. When I told her that except for the blue Khôl, that's exactly what I had envisioned doing, she laughed and said, "Well, there you go. Great minds think alike!" :-) She kept the rest of my face pretty understated so nothing would compete with my eyes which looked really, really green in this color scheme.
I know this color palette is not for everyone, but you ladies who can rock various oranges and pinks on the eyes are going to be very happy with Capri. The colors apply true to pan, they're smooth and easy to blend, and they are nicely pigmented. My makeup application was at 11:00 and there was still plenty of color there when I removed it that evening.
Although these colors are vibrant, they are not just for young women. The key to making them work is blending and understanding how to make the most of your eye contours. As my MA said, "No crazy color blocking here. That's for the kids."

My Pucci brush is softer than the original pink brush which was a bit scratchy. I've read comments on other blogs saying the same so I don't think it is just mine that is softer. Try it out.
