Dior Holiday 2012 Teaser: Grand Bal Collection

I was able to get a photo of Dior's Grand Bal Holiday Look color at Neiman Marcus. Just click on the photo to enlarge it.

I did the best I could in-store and with store lighting. Even so, I think these items look like must-have's - all of them. Sigh!

As they say on Twitter, #thatisall.

  3. Haha! Cg, I want that LMDB Nouvelle Vague! That has to be the one Mikey Castillo was telling you about last year; he described it then as having a film noir aspect. I would not call Nouvelle Vague film noir, but it is certainly distinctive and pure LMDB.

  5. What's this product at the bottom left, the round shaped transparent bottle or jar with a round gold lid??

  6. Hi Nemo,

It looks like Cinéma Noir morphed into Nouvelle Vague over the course of the year. No matter what you call it, though, it certainly is beautiful. I came of makeup wearing age in the early sixties when we had models like Peggy Moffit, Jean Shrimpton, and Twiggy as our icons. The graphic eyes done in shades of black, gray, and white will always resonate with me. Unlike dear Peggy, though, I certainly no longer wear that look! The pinks in this Kaleidoscope will give the look a modern twist more in keeping with our penchant for blending and subtle contouring. I can hardly wait to get my hands on this one. This is one Kaleidoscope where I think the Couche de Couleur technique is going to be a winner.

  10. Polish Jinx, check the picture again, the holiday polish is right there on the bottom left. Very recognizable design.

  11. Absolutely right, Nina! I checked at Dior today. That's the nail lacquer Polish Jinx is seeking.

  12. I can't believe they brought back the old polish bottle! I loved that design, impractical though it was. Impractical since I stand up to do manicures and hold the bottle between my fingers. I still have a red polish (now gummy and unusable) in that bottle. So nostalgic!

  14. I actually had a chance to play with this collection today during a training session for Dior. It is absolutely amazing. The two eye shadow quints are to die for. They are sooo pigmented and smooth. Just beautiful.

The two lip glosses are great too. The gold shimmer gloss would look so nice paired with the red gloss or even on top of the red Diorama lipstick.

I want everything in the collection. Time to start saving now.
