Coming Soon: Le Métier de Beauté Lip Colors for Spring 2013
I mentioned recently that I was unable to get official photos of the spring lip colors from Le Métier de Beauté - the photos I've seen on the sheets sent to the counters. So a sweet company representative took photos of the testers that just arrived at her store. They are gorgeous.
There are two new Sheer Brilliance Lip Glosses ($32): Coral Rose and Pink-e Promise. Coral Rose was described to me as a sheer coral-pink; Pink-d Promise is said to be a bright, but sheer hot pink.
There are three new Lip Crèmes ($36): Pink Berry (a warm raspberry), Moroccan Sunset (a orange-copper-brown with a rose undertone), and Dulce de Leche (self-explanatory for caramel lovers).
My photo shows, top to bottom, Coral Rose (I know, it does not appear to have rose in it), Pink-e Promise, Moroccan Sunset, Dulce de Leche, and Pink Berry (I will have a meltdown if I cannot get my hands on Pink Berry very soon). These glosses are supposed to arrive before the Melange Palette I showed you last week.
Joey (Glowy Joey Bunny to those who know her) at Bergdorf Goodman told me they are only getting 48 of the palettes - probably in the second or third week of February. If you want any of the new colors, I'd suggest you pre-order now. With only 48 palettes going to most or all of the counters, they will sell out quickly. Trust me.
The best way to reach Joey is at her e-mail address: josiealycia.p@gmail.com. She always monitors her cell phone for e-mails.
I can also recommend another friend, Michael Reinhardt, at Neiman Marcus. You can reach him at (202) 966-9700, extension 2258 or 2236. As of yesterday, the testers had not arrived at his store.
Update 5:00 pm: These gorgeous lip colors arrived today at Neiman Marcus Mazza Gallerie. You can call Michael at the phone number directly above if you want to get your hands on them immediately. I just came back from picking up mine. If the sun is shining tomorrow, I will have swatch photos for you.

The glosses look pretty! Glad to hear that you have a sweet SA to help you out like that!
ReplyDeleteHi Haru
ReplyDeleteShe was very nice indeed.
Are these limited edition? I really hope there isnt a limited release like the eyeshadow palette...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update - I admit that eyeshadow palette has been in my thoughts since I saw your photo. And now I want Pinkberry as well!
ReplyDeleteQuick question: when you pre-order something, are you allowed to go in and look at it before purchasing? Or do they charge you immediately and then you have to process a return? I'm not quite sure about some of those eyeshadow shades and if the majority of them don't work for me, I'd hate myself for buying it when I still have my eye on that nouvelle vague kaleidoscope.
Thanks!
Hi Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteThey are not listed in the counter materials as limited.
Hi Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteIt is all between you and your sales associate. Normally, when you pre-order something that's a hot ticket, a store will not hold it for you to "decide." You have to give them a credit card, which will be charged when the item arrives. They should not charge you immediately.
If you have a favorite LMdB counter, why not call and ask if they will hold one for you until they arrive? Then, once they arrive, get yourself over there - fast.
So pretty!! I'm doing my homework before placing a huge order on LMdB. Seems like beside the kaleidoscope kits, their lipglosses are immensely popular. Really excited for your review xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info! Since I'm hesitating about pre-ordering, that probably means I don't need it that bad. I'll probably just head over to my Neiman Marcus in mid-February and try to check it out in person if possible :)
ReplyDeleteHi Joanne,
ReplyDeletePopular for very good reason. I always have at least one with me.
Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you ask your fave counter person to call you the second they arrive?
Oh thank you so much I was hoping for new colors in the lip cremes. They are may favorites! I was able to get Cebu last year, so pretty. I have to have all 3!
ReplyDeleteOoooooo. . . Moracan Sunset is calling my name :-) I love shades like this, but only during the summer when I turn to warmer looks. That was so very kind of the SA to send you a picture of the actual products. No matter how well done, there is always a disconnect between the promo pictures and the products in real life.
ReplyDeleteDarn autofill! I meant Moroccan; not Moracan :-P
DeleteCalling ahead - what a brilliant idea! That actually never occurred to me.
ReplyDeleteTragically, however, my favorite LMDB counter is at Nordstrom, which seems to be the bastard child of the LMDB world, for some reason: they always got collections super late (or sometimes not at all) and only in small numbers. Perhaps it's different in DC but I distinctly got the impression that the Nordstrom-LMDB business partnership - at least, in my go-to store - was less than ideal, maybe because the LMDB counters rake in less than Chanel or MAC or what have you? Ah, corporate drama! But to top all that off, my favorite MUA left the brand for bigger and brighter.
But I have purchased a few items from the LMDB counter at Neiman Marcus and got a few business cards so I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks for the tip!
LMdB was pulled from my local Nordstrom and I was told that it might be pulled from the Nordstrom at the Topanga Mall. Corporate drama, indeed!
DeleteI am 100% positive that my first Le Metier purchase is going to be "Pink Berry" lipgloss! Gorgeous! And, while I was in Chicago this weekend, I trekked up Michigan Ave. to Nordstrom, thinking that they carried LMdB, only to be told by a lovely SA that it is at Neiman's, which was where I had just come from! No LMdB for me this weekend. But I did come away with a beautiful Chantecaille Lip Chic in "Tea Rose" and a Laura Mercier gloss in "New Violet." And probably 5 lbs. heavier!!(thank you, Chicago food joints)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary Ann,
ReplyDeleteThe sun is forecast to come out mid-day today. If it does, I will post swatch photos.
That's true, Eileen. The real thing is always better. :)
ReplyDeleteElizabeth,
ReplyDeleteI had heard some rumors that LMdB was pulling out (or being pulled out) of a few stores. I guess there may be something to that rumor.
Hi MamaVal,
ReplyDeletePink Berry is lighter than I had expected, but still very pretty. It's snowing now, but if it stops and the sun comes out, I'll get photos today.
Yes, Eileen, kind of confirms an inside rumor I heard. I don't have any idea of the reason.
