Make a splash this summer with Tarte and the Aqualillies! This limited-edition waterproof palette, includes six new eye shadows, a bronzer, a highlighter, and a limited-edition Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush. All of the show-stopping shades are tucked inside a darling mirrored compact decorated with the turquoise, gold, and coral theme.
The shades in the palette are all fabulous.
- Six new eye shadows: Hammock (chocolate brown), Bikini (golden peach), Barefoot (golden nude), Parasol (champagne rose), Sundeck (light brown) and Poolside (turquoise)
- A gorgeous shimmering highlighter in Champagne
- A limited edition Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in Captivating (warm peach)
I swatched all the shades in full, glorious, late-morning sun. I used a sponge-tipped applicator to apply them all relatively heavily - except for the larger swatch of Captivating intended to show you how it might look on your cheeks.
The photo directly above shows the Champagne highlighter at the top of my arm, Park Ave Princess (the bronzer) below, and Captivating below the bronzer. All were applied heavily. I applied a larger swatch of Captivating at the bottom in the photo.
I swatched all the eye colors in clockwise order, starting with the Poolside blue/turquoise shade at the top of my arm and ending with the brown eyeliner at the bottom. Poolside is glorious. There's no other way to describe it. Sundeck is the matte tan shade under the exquisite Poolside. All of the eye shadow shades except Sundeck offer a subtle shimmer - my kind of eye shadows. Parasol is an icy pink that doesn't look terribly pink. It's really a perfect, natural pink.
Barefoot looks golden in the compact, and it is. However, it's icy gold. Bikini, on the other hand, is a golden gold. Both of them appeal to me - a lot. The pretty brown Hammock eyeliner is perfect complement to all of the other shades.
Remember, when you use Tarte cosmetics, you will be using makeup that is free of parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, tricolsan, sodium lauryl sulfate, and synthetic fragrances - no hormone distruptors. Tarte is cruelty-free too.
You can find this fabulous eye and cheek palette - and the rest of the Aqualillies Collection at Tarte's Web site, where shipping is free with a $40 purchase. Although this palette is currently sold out, I checked with Tarte yesterday, and additional stock is on the way. It is also available at Sephora.
P.S. See my star magnolia blooming in the background above? Finally! Unfortunately, I think it was frozen early this morning.

I know a lot of people do not mind, but I was wondering if you can let me know where this is made? Please?
ReplyDeleteHi Renee,
ReplyDeleteIt was made in the USA.
Yes! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! (the Edward Bess coral lipcolor you swatched would be perfect with this...if Tarte didn't already have a color to go with it!)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteIm glad to hear they will be getting more as I looked yesterday and they were sold out. I had been thinking this would be a great piece for me given my makeup situation as it covers all the bases. I even have a lipstick that looks very similar to the one in the collection, bit bright for me but nice. Now that I see the swatches Im really hoping to get it, looks like they are not overly shimmery and good balance of shades, while I haven't tried Tarte have heard nothing but good things.
When you reviewed the collection a while ago there was a blue eyeliner and brush in a shade I love. Would you say the liner stays on well, I remember you mentioned it was easy to get a fine or thicker line just sometimes liners can be difficult if they smudge, or wear off and disappear. If anyone has any thoughts or experience with the eye/cheek products or the palette would love to hear them!
Thanks
The lipstick is perfect with it, MamaVal. Or the new EB Island Blossom.
ReplyDeleteHi angusmum1,
ReplyDeleteAfter hearing from readers that it was sold out, I had to contact Tarte. They were quick to answer, saying they would get more, but also that Sephora has it.
How would you compare this to Estee Lauder's Batik Sun, which I've been eyeing since you posted it?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Hmm... do you think the blush would be too orange on pale girls? I think we're about the same coloring.
ReplyDeleteDeeds,
ReplyDeleteI think it is very comparable.
Hi AZ,
ReplyDeleteIt could be. Combined with my natural redness in the cheeks, it works. It's very warm. If you are pale in the cheeks, it's going to look pretty coral - sheer coral, but coral nonetheless.
Hi CG,
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog from cafemakeup and I love it instantly. Iam interested in buying this, but iamjust wondering how this highlighter compare with chanel's poudre de signee? Thanks a lot.
Love the Poolside blue/turquoise shade.
