Guerlain introduced two limited-edition Shine Automatiques ($35.00) with the Terra Ora Collection for Summer 2013. These beauties offer the lips a second-skin texture and luminous shimmer all in one. Corail Ora (#740), shown above, is a luminous warm coral shade with gold tone iridescence, a color that is wearable and oh-so-trendy.
I'm thrilled with my new purchase. I took swatch photos in full mid-day sun. The swatch photos don't do it justice because the coral color combines with the rosy pigment in my lips to yield a peach color that's delectable.
This is an "orange" for orange phobes. Because it's semi-sheer, it blends with your own lips to form a warm, summery shade. The model is wearing it in the campaign photo.
See how it brings out her blue eyes? It does the same for me.
Guerlain’s Terra Ora collection is available at select locations of Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Sephora, and Bergdorf Goodman - and of course at the Guerlain Boutiques. The Terra Nerolia Bronzer, which we are all awaiting, will be available in early June. Guerlain will get it first, so if you want to pre-order, call Rhonda at (702) 732-7008.

Hi Charlestongirl, Corail Ora looks gorgeous in your swatch --- and in the campaign photos. Looks like a perfect color for the season :)
ReplyDeleteHi Charleston Girl,
ReplyDeleteI have been eagerly awaiting a swatch of this and it is beautiful! I also liked Bianca Ora in the promo photos. Did you get to see it in person and if so, is it as pretty as Corail Ora?
Corail Ora is such a cheerful shade, vibrant and translucent. It's the perfect color for summer and Guerlain was wise to release it in their wonderful Shine Automatique formula. It looks very pretty against your skin and with the rose of your lips peeking through, I bet it is all kinds of ripe, peachy goodness :-) Yum!
ReplyDeleteI've said it before, no one does summer quite like Guerlain. I don't think they've ever had an "off" Terracotta collection.
Love this. The Guerlain Shine lipsticks are wonderful and last, last, last.
ReplyDeleteHi Charleston Girl, I love your swatch! Orange does look good on me and the this one looks divine!
ReplyDeleteI bought this the other night and I love it. I couldn't pass it by either. It is so pretty and brings out the blue in my eyes and brightens my whole face. This really is the color of the season.
ReplyDeleteFrugality is a little overrated, CG ;) Enjoy that lipstick!
ReplyDeleteHi Dovey,
ReplyDeleteIt is a perfect color for summer. Love it!
Susan, if you had told me, it might have pushed me over the edge to buy it sooner. :)
ReplyDeleteBianca Ora is iridescent clear. Not as pretty.
Hi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI agree with that! You talked me into the primer yesterday - and the taupe eye shadow. You devil!
Hi Nemo,
ReplyDeleteThat they do!
Christina, you are lucky, go for it! Call Rhonda. You will love her! Plus, they are open late, so I can call her at 9:30, 10:00 pm my time.
ReplyDeleteHi Jo,
ReplyDeleteIt does make my eyes look ultra-blue. Congratulations!
LOL, Joey,
ReplyDeleteFrugality is overrated. It's the no-job blues, though.
Oh, Charlestongirl! LOL
ReplyDeleteI knew you'd want the Bronze Ora after seeing it :-) Although Marcus tightlined and smudged around my lashes with Noir Volcanique (gray-black), the shadow will be gorgeous with deeply colored liners as well. By the way, Marcus used a soft brush to create a wash of color over my entire lid and then patted on a little extra right over the ball of the lid. Pow! Today when I wore it, I used TF's Blush Guilt on the brow bone. The light pink glimmer worked very well with Bronze Ora.
I've always loved Guerlain's Météorites primer and have used it with several different brands of foundation. It works well with everything and just seems to keep that soft-focus going all day. It didn't take a nano-second to convince me I needed the new one, Les Ors :-) Today I just used Les Ors and a bit of Fire Lust on my cheeks. I lightly set with my Pucci Météorites from last summer and I was good to go--glowing with good health, but not in the least bit shiny. For winter, you might like the original primer (light pink pearls). See if your Guerlain SA can give you a sample. It is often included in Guerlain's GWP's so there are occasionally a few behind the counter. Although I've tried numerous primers, Guerlain's is the only one I use with any consistency.
I ordered this lippie and the new primer from Rhonda the other day.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the connection, no place in the Pittsburgh area to buy Guerlain and it's nice to have someone helpful on the phone. Would love to visit a Guerlain Boutique.
Resistance is futile. That shade looks nice and juicy and from Guerlain? I think I may cave in, too!
ReplyDeleteI knew I had to have the two loose powders--I was chomping at the bit for them to come in so I could order them. I was so undecided about Corail Ora--but once my SA told me that they only got two--I knew I had to have it. And after seeing your amazing swatches, I know I made the right choice--Thank you so much CG!
ReplyDeleteThis is beyond gorgeous! Does it apply very sheer? My lips are so pigmented that I'm afraid it wont show up.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteGuerlain's Shine Automatique is a real lipstick but in a shiny, crystalline formula. It is a bit transparent, but it is not sheer like many of the lipstick-balm hybrids (i.e. Chanel RC Shine) and they wear a bit longer. I'd describe the colors as translucent rather than sheer.
If you Google Guerlain Shine Automatique swatches, you'll get a lot of images. The colors range from light and delicate to rich and intense.
Hi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI have the pearl Météorites primer and have to admit I don't wear it often. It's just another layer to me. I like the new one because it adds a peach gold to my skin - a shade that's perfect for all the TF colors.
Hi Mary Ann,
ReplyDeleteShe is delightful. Glad you liked her!
Jenny, only two? I think stores are losing it when they order two of a hot shade from a hot company. Glad you snagged it.
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa,
ReplyDeleteIt's not sheer. I used the term semi-sheer because it's not opaque either.
Thanks CG & Eileen for the helpful info! I have to get this one now. I have the regular Rouge automique in 141 and its just beautiful, so I wasnt sure about the shine auto's. Thanks!
