Happy Cinco de Mayo!
Happy Cinco de Mayo! Celebrated on May 5, the holiday had its roots in Mexico. It was originated in the United States by Mexican-American communities in the American West as a way to commemorate the cause of freedom and democracy during the first years of the American Civil War. Today the date is observed in the U.S. as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride.
It's a great day for the Cinco de Mayo rose and Mexican music, dance, food, and drink. I could use a margarita now. With lots of salt, please.
