Summer is Calling with Pure Ice Nail Enamel

Pure Ice has brought chic and vibrant colors to nails for summer - from captivating blues and greens to stunning pink hues for your fingers and toes. With their signature long-lasting formula, Pure Ice has created incredibly eye-catching and irresistible shades. They promise to take your breath away. Pure Ice graciously sent me three shades to try, and I like all three. Me - the ultra-picky one!

Here are the shades in the summer collection.
  • Strapless - Bright blue glitter in clear base
  • French Kiss - Princess crème blue
  • Wild Thing - Lime green crème
  • Flirt Alert - Bright orchid pink crème
  • Scream - Turquoise crème
  • Jackpot - Magenta pink with a pearl finish
I received Flirt Alert, Jackpot, and Strapless. Strapless is an amazing shade. It's the blue shown at the top on the left. It offers electric blue color and glam glitter. Jackpot is the middle shade in the photo. This magenta pink has a pearly finish that's elegant, but hardly subdued with the bright color.

Flirt Alert, shown at the bottom on the left, is called a bright orchid pink with a crème finish. I'm not sure what color orchid pink is, given that orchids have been hybridized to bloom in every imaginable shade of pink. Flirt Alert is a rich, deep pink - almost red in its appeal.

I swatched using a color wheel and took photos in full, mid-day sunshine. From left to right, the colors are Flirt Alert, Jackpot, and Strapless (I often swatch alphabetically). My apologies to you and Pure Ice. I did not see the Charlie fur that stuck to my swatched nails before I took my photos - proof that I'm accustomed to his beautiful fur in my life. I applied two coats of each color, although Flirt Alert only needed one to cover nicely.

I will wear all three colors. Of the two pinks, my favorite is the Jackpot shown in the center. What a perfect bright pink for summer! Your toes will draw envious glances in either Jackpot or Flirt Alert.

The blue Strapless is a knockout. One coat left me underwhelmed, but it sprang to life with two, deepening the shade and adding a remarkable shine. It looks deeper in the topmost of my swatch photos. I think the color is truer in the photo directly above.

All Pure Ice nail enamels are free of formaldehyde, toluene, and DBP and contain a patented salon long-wear formula for a look that will last. They applied easily and evenly - even for me. Retailing at only $1.99 (!), these polishes are the perfect way to bring chic looks from the runway to your life without breaking the bank.

Pure Ice nail enamels are available through Pure Ice Web site and Walmart stores nationwide. I had fun on the company's Web site. Pure Ice qualifies as my deal-of-the-week feature.

  1. Hi, I hadnt even had this post delivered by email yet! OFF TOPIC< PLEASE HELP. Hautelook is having a sale of some LMDB products, no kalidescopes and I would love to try a few things. Whatare people's opinion on the amphormatic mascara in brownish black, the liquid liner in Aqua and the face powder. I think it comes in 7 shades, they have sold out of a couple already and sale has just started. Would a shade 1 or 2 be appropriate for fair. MOST IMP to me is the liner. I dont yet have a nice aqua and wondered what the liquid liners are like. ANYONE WITH KNOWLEDGE, THERE ARE MANY PLEASE DROP A NOTE ASAP, SO APPRECIATED

  3. Kathy,

I like the mascara and liquid liners. I don't use the pressed LMdB face powder. Use the loose one. Buy Peachy Keen eye shadow if it is still available. Gorgeous shade!

  5. Love the colors! I just had my toes done with hot pink and an overcoat of Lushlaquer's Lite Brite (a great glitter blend). I am sold on having fun toes! Thank you as always for your informative posts-I read your blog every day. Cheers!

  6. Flirt Alert is killing me. I've never really ventured out of the usual higher end brands, because I was afraid of quality issues. But Flirt Alert is such a beautiful and shiny one coater! Maybe I shouldn't be such a polish snob, haha.

  10. Hi Victoria,

I knew nothing about them before. I don't often wear nail polish, so I'm not much of an expert. However, I know these rivaled very expensive brands on application ease. Plus the finished look was fabulous.

  12. Thanks CG for answering my off topic question and so quickly. I was able to order the peachy keen and the mascara and liquid liner. Didnt bother with powder as shade matching is hard at best of times. First purchase of this brand!
