Chanel Les Délices de Chanel Collection Lip Colors - Exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue

Les Délices de Chanel is here - a little later than we expected, but the Saks Fifth Avenue exclusive is in stores. There are some stunning pieces within the collection. Yesterday, I showcased the limited-edition Ombres Fleuries Délicatesse ($60) eye shadow quad, which contains light green, white, peach, and plum shades. Today, it's time for the lip colors.

There are three on the Les Délices de Chanel display.
  • Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Lip Shine in Gourmandise (#76, $32.50), which is shown at the top of this feature
  • Two limited-edition shades of Aqualumière Lip Gloss ($27): French Toffee (#83) and Friandise (#82)
While the special lighting stations at the counter at Saks Chevy Chase are wonderful for seeing faces in every light imaginable - direct sun, candlelight, cloudy days - the lights cast weird reflections for taking photos. That said, the photo directly above shows Gourmandise on the left, French Toffee in the middle, and Frianise on the right.

I took swatch photos of the lip colors in full noontime sunshine outside the store - not an ideal way to get swatch photos. I swatched Gourmandise at the top of my arm, French Toffee in the middle, and Frianise at the bottom.

Despite its appearance in the tube, Gourmandise offers very sheer and very light pink - almost an imperceptible tint on the lips. If you want color on your lips, go for one of the lip glosses.

French Toffee is gold. On my skin, it shows its hint of toffee. It sparkles and shines, offering Chanel's usual heavenly look to top any lip color. The Aqualumière Lip Gloss that might knock your socks off - it did mine - is Friandise. I had to look up "friandise" to learn that it's a small sweet served as petits fours or desserts. Since the color is delicious, I think it's a great name. This peachy coral is perfect - even for me.

Sorry about my blue veins. I tried, but could not get a good angle on the sun while at Saks. I think you should see from these photos, though, that the your focus for the lips from Les Délices de Chanel should be on the lip glosses.

The collection is exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue. If you need help from a Saks store, give the wonderful gals at Saks Chevy Chase a call at (240) 497-5363. I understand that shipping is free if you use a Saks credit card.

  2. Friandise is a gorgeous color--ripe and juicy. I'm actually surprised at the amount of pigment in it as the Aqualumiere formulation is usually pretty sheer.

  3. Hi Dollie, I want both the glosses. They are terrific.

  4. It is juicy, Eileen. I was also surprised and delighted by the pigmentation. It will be mine!

  5. I love the last swatch it is such a pretty colour, unique in a way yet not "out there". For a gloss it is quite pigmented. Do these have any smell to them?

  6. Hi angusmum1,

Just the same as all the other Chanel glosses. Negligible.

  7. I am disappointed at the sheerness of Gourmandise, as that was the one I was most looking forward to. But what Gourmandise lacks, Friandise makes up for--that shade is SO gorgeous! It truly pops and is so vibrant and beautiful! :D

  8. lusting after Friandise! I wonder if the collection will be a part of Nordstrom's Anniversary sale this year?

  9. Friandise is beautiful! I have been debating between that one and several others from Chanel, including: Amour, Bagatelle, and Volupte. All kind of "pinky-corals" but I've never used Chanel gloss before, so any recommendations for something that has some color to it?

  10. Wow, I wouldn't have expected the Gourmandise to appear so sheer. The glossy Friandise really does have a vibrant peachy shade to it! Both glosses seem to be a great choice for shine and color intensity.

  11. Wow, I really wish Gourmandise had more pigment! I know this collection is based on more sheer tones, but that barely shows up on pale skin, much less lips. As someone w/pigmented lips, that wouldn't show at all on me. I've not yet tried the Aqualumiere glosses, but I do like the look of Frianise!

  12. Yeah, Becca, me too. It's a whole tube of "kind of nothing."

  13. I don't think so, LSBD. Get it now.

  14. This one sure has color, MamaVal. It would look pretty on you.

  15. I agree, Ari, stick with the glosses.

  16. Hey there, Erin,

I just can't imagine why anyone would buy a lipstick that, for all of us, looks clear on the lips. I want color - even if it's light. Gourmandise is almost invisible.

  17. Are the Aqualumiere glosses back? They discontinued those a summer or two ago and I loved them! Hope they are back or is it just for this little Saks only collection?
