Giorgio Armani Tim Quinn Beauty Event Today
Giorgio Armani's ambassador Tim Quinn made a special appearance today at Neiman Marcus Tysons Galleria. There I was in my grubby Saturday dress, jeans and a sweater, next to Tim, who always looks dapper and stylish - and sometimes so serious. The real Tim is shown in the photo below. He is a lot of fun.
Thanks to Kathy Shoreman, who did most of my makeup before Tim applied his "special eye shadow," along with liner and mascara to my eyes (Kathy took the photos here). I looked pretty glam after Tim finished with me - and so unlike my mini-me neutrals look. I'll show you swatch photos of the products as soon as the sun comes back. I left this afternoon after more compliments on my eye look than I think I've ever had - and it was blue eye shadow!
I also want to show you some of the new holiday/winter displays: Chanel, Dior, Clé de Peau Beauté, and more. I'll have to write a Sunday This and That tomorrow.
I got an early start this morning, so I'm off for a little R&R. See you later.

You are one lovely, classy lady, and you have a Grecian profile. Nice to hear Kathy Shoreman mentioned again. Miss her!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Would have loved to have been there with you!
ReplyDeleteOh, Dear Charlestongirl you are so beautiful ! I only can hope I will look as beautiful as you are later in my life!!! Anyway:), really looking forward for Cle de peau holiday Enchanted winter garden collection review and swatches! Beautiful cream blush, pencils and makeup palate :)). Thank you! You are inspiration
ReplyDeleteYou look stunning CG! I can see from your photos that your eyes stand out beautifully- and I don't see a ton of makeup!
ReplyDeleteYour man Tim is a true artist. He lets ones beauty shine thru- and uses his companies line of products to compliment, not overshadow your natural gifts. Lovely!
Thanks, Nemo. I'll tell her you mentioned her. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was fun, Judi. I love seeing Tim. We catch up in a very short time.
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet, Theresa. I got the best birthday present ever in September: my Medicare card. :)
ReplyDeleteYou look great, even in sweater and jeans! It's good to see that happy smile on your face:)
ReplyDeleteCG, you look fabulous! And that looks like a darker lip color than the ones you mention you favor. You are rockin' it. Your skin looks flawless too. You must tell us what skin products you're currently using.

You look radiant! I love seeing the work of professional makeup artists. Thanks for sharing and happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteThis is a gorgeous photo of you. I never realized how thick your hair is and what a beautiful color. Your skin is to die for. Love the makeup too. You look fabulous in that white sweater. You should wear white often. If you just got your Medicare card, that means you are 65?????? Unreal, you don't look anywhere near that! Guess some people just know how to live! I'm very much looking forward to the Dior Golden Winter collection. So many pretties! Can't wait for this one. I think the Joy lipstick is mine, along with many other items!
ReplyDeleteCG, you are absolutely beautiful! It is so rare to see photos of you. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWow! I should look so terrible in my jeans and a sweater. You look fabulous!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOK, I'm blushing. Thank you, everyone.
ReplyDeleteI use no single skin care, but this week I will tell you my most-used brands.
Hey CG, you are adorable and gorgeous! I'm so glad you had such fun with your friend Tim (he is very easy on the eyes himself). Especially after a week of pain. I'm wondering if you've heard anything about the new LMdB peau verge powder that they are releasing - especially when it's due on shelves. I read about it online.
ReplyDeleteP.S.: I so am glad to read about the blue eye shadow -- that is a shade that I wear all of the time as it makes my pale green eyes pop!
ReplyDeleteYou look radiant, Charlestongirl, and so very happy. Nothing lifts the spirits quite like some one-on-one quality time with a charming and talented artist like Tim and it shows. You're positively glowing! Like all your other readers, I'm looking forward to hearing the details and seeing the swatches. If anyone could nudge you out of neutrals, it would be Tim :-)
ReplyDeleteA talented artist can give us something fresh and modern that suits our age, our features, our life-style, and our esthetic. In their talented hands, we can open ourselves to something new while being confident that we aren't going to end up looking foolish. I've never understood why some women make an appointment with a celebrity artist and then try to dictate what makeup is used and how it is applied. They might as well have stayed home!
Glad you had such a good time and you were pleased with the end result. What a beauty you are!
ReplyDeleteI should look as good in my grubby Saturday dress! lol I need to step up. :) Sometimes you have to let them work their magic and put colors on you that you'd never think would work for you. Surprise! You find out you look awesome. Can't wait for This & That Sunday. It cheers me up before the workweek starts.
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful and these photos express the great time you had. Tim looks classy and elegant.
ReplyDeleteI had the opposite experience this weekend with a make-up artist. She commented on my "non-existent brows", "round face" and droopy lids. I left with less confidence and additionally didn't like my make-up a bit. Am still mad at myself for not speaking up or leaving. It was a damper to my self-esteem.

Hi CG and everyone here :)
ReplyDeleteI will echo the others and say Wow! you do look great, CG-and one can see you did have a great time there. Glad you have a nice weekend.
CG, you look amazing!!!! Sounds like a real fun day with Tim. I met him a long while ago and you are right, he can look serious in the picture but actually quite a fun person.
ReplyDeleteApart from skin care, you must tell us what products they use on your makeover!
I always read your blog, but never comment. I can't help myself--you look gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteHello CG,
ReplyDeleteI recently picked up the Cle de peau winter garden bouquet and the lip pencils are gorgeous but the eye pencils don't set won't blend without coming off and I've tried a primer a cream base and nothing works. I was wondering if you know a good representative that can give me some ideas to get them to work. Also I have normal skin and nothing creases on my lids like these do after 20 minutes. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank You,
Melissa
You are stunningly beautiful CG!! Can't wait to see all the photos and swatches. Glad you had a good day and hope some restful R&R. Later...Denise at aeiokid at comcast dot net
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, CG!!! You look stunning even in your Saturday clothes! I can't wait to see the pics. You're as beautiful outside as you are on the inside. <3
ReplyDeleteWow C-Girl I am truly humbled! You are the perfect model, by the way - I think it is one of the best photos you've ever taken, too! I'll tell you what - that Maestro compact foundation is AMAZING and I can't wait to get mine (I had to order mine in 4 because they sold out)! Tim Quinn is just such a calm, nice person with a really great sense of humor - working alongside him and learning from him is an honor. I've known other artists at his level that are haughty or arrogant or just plain mean - he makes every client feel beautiful and special. Nemo I miss you too! I'll be back. C-Girl, thanks for doing what you do. It really is a special service you provide. I always check your blog first before I buy product, to read your review. You are like the Consumer Report for Beauty!
ReplyDeleteHi Tanja,
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame you had a bad experience with that ill-mannered MA. There is an old saying that some people measure their superiority by the inferiority of their associates. Finding fault and putting people down is how they feel good about themselves. Unfortunately, that makes for a very bad experience when having our makeup done. Most of us know exactly where our flaws are and don't need a presumptuous stranger harping on them. A good MA knows how to express things in a positive way while still addressing the problems. For example, "I'm applying the blusher a bit higher so as to bring the attention up to your lovely eyes." sounds so much better than, "I'm applying blusher here because your face is sagging and I don't want to draw attention to your jowls." LOL But, if it happens again, definitely speak up. Another option is to see the counter manager before leaving and let her know why you aren't buying anything. She'll appreciate the feedback because the counters always have very high sales goals during events. After all, the reason we go to beauty events is to have fun, learn some new tricks, and feel good about ourselves :-)
Waouh! Good for you after your tedious painful week! You deserved some fun, I'm so glad you had it at the GA Tim Quinn Beauty event! The photos show how much you are enjoying yourselves and as everyone has mentionned it you do look stunning, "radiatingly" gorgeous! I'm sure it's due to your lovely skin (and good caring routine) and to TQ's skill and maestria: your make up is so discreet and so luminous at the same time....I wish I had somebody as wonderful as TQ (and Kathy Shoreman too) to give me some advice and help me!!! I hope you had a good rest today:-)
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful! I am glad to hear that you had a great time! -Sara
