The Friday Forum - April 18
I love daffodils with pink cups, so they are overrepresented in my garden. Here is one of the first that bloomed - at a time when it was freezing at night and raining every other day.
I have had a crazy-long week. We had a large virtual team gathered in DC, and I worked extended hours every day. I am totally exhausted. Every evening, I came home, fed the cats, drank a beer with some cookies or cake, wrote a blog post, and went to bed so that I could start again in the morning. Oh, and there was the last-minute IRS stuff to do on top of everything else.
I don't have the energy to write up this week's beauty news. I promise I'll do that over the weekend.
It's time for the Friday Forum. I love this part of our week. What new products did you discover this week? Did you find any deals you couldn't resist? Are you using a fabulous product and want to sing its praises? Did you find a beauty product disappointing? Do you have a question others might be able to answer? Want to talk about skin care? What's new in your life? Just use the comments. Don't be shy. Just make sure to ask any question you might have over the weekend. By early the next week, most (not all) readers will have moved on.

Upon the recommendation of our very informed host, I purchased the Guerlain Terracotta After Sun Cream. As Ms. Girl said, it smells beyond divine. My question for someone is this: If you have smelled both this cream and the new Terracotta perfume, do they smell similar? Also, just as a side note, I just ordered the Guerlain 30th Anniversary Edition Terracotta Sun Celebration Bronzer & Blush. Does everyone LOVE it? THANKS, Judy
ReplyDeleteMUAC peels. Ordered on line. Got the one ounce size. Using a 40% Lactic acid peel to reduce some brown spots and sun damage. Doing this twice a week and already see a reduction in the spots.
ReplyDeleteNow I have to wear a visor in the pool.
So pretty! I love daffodils with pink. Clearly yours didn't mind braving the weather. :)
ReplyDeleteOur daffodils just started coming out and then the snow came and flattened most of them. Oh well. The few scattered under the lilac made it through unscathed but the rest are rather sad looking. The weather got all the magnolias here too. I suppose our zone is just a bit too far north and wibbly weather-wise to count on them, but when the season does cooperate they sure are glorious. Maybe next year!
What lovely daffodils! My dying orchid is finally resurrected and have two new blooms!
ReplyDeleteMakeup-wise: totally disappointed that my local TF does not carry the new palette yet.. it is not sold out, yet or at least what the SA said. But no tester whatsoever. Sephoras also equally lame, waiting for the new Dior liquid lipsticks but not a hint of newness is available. I'll be enjoying the Easter weekend with my family. Happy weekend & Happy Easter!
I'll get to my purchases in a minute, or my "bad back medicine," as I prefer to think of them.
ReplyDeleteI love your pretty flower! Our crocuses are just beginning to blossom after a hard winter in the Northeast. My daughter in DC sent me pics of the magnolias blooming, and I'm SO jealous!
Soooo....I threw out my back while lifting our mattress. That'll teach me to make the bed! I've been laid-up for a week and it isn't getting much better, so I decided to take self-medication to another level.
If one lipgloss makes me feel good, then it goes to reason that 5 will make me feel great, right? I'm a marketer's dream because I ALWAYS fall for the "spend just $10 more and get free shipping" or " buy 2, get one free!". So I bought 2 Armour Beauty lip glosses (The Eva Scrivo Salon sells them) in "Diana" and "Kashmir" and got a sparkly one, "Vanilla Grapefruit" free. Plus, since I didn't own a LORAC gloss, I got Gloss with Benefits in "Ben," and I still needed the extra push for free shipping, so I bought The Lipstick Queen "Big Bang Theory gloss in Creation." Or I could just say the last one was in celebration of Easter!
Hello CG and everyone! I just love this time of year when flowers begin to bloom and awaken from a long winter's nap. The colors of Spring take on a new life for a while and bring such joy to our surroundings. Butterflies and hummingbirds will soon present us with their beauty..all things in time share their beauty!
ReplyDeleteI tried a few lipsticks that were not my "cup of tea' if you will. While I love the nude shades, it takes a special shade to work for me. Most nudes just look too pale on me! Tom Ford and Estee Lauder left me longing for more color recently. I realized that I am addicted to cosmetics! Perhaps this should have been my area of education instead of marketing! Well, that being said; I wish everyone a Happy and Blessed Easter. Make it a beautiful weekend. Hope to pick up the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette!
I am still loving my Tom Ford Unabashed palette (just as well given the staggering price point) and hoping we here in the UK will get a re-release of the Hourglass Ambient palette. Not only are most of the individual powders sold out over here the three powder palette was so limited edition only bloggers seemed to get hold of it. I love my radiant light powder and would be very willing to splash out to get some of the others. Hope everyone has a peaceful and happy Easter. Susan, London
