Tom Ford Pink Sand Cream Cheek Color from the Soleil Color Collection for Summer 2016

I wasn't going to purchase Pink Sand Cream Cheek Color ($65) from Tom Ford's Summer 2016 Collection. It looked coral, and I didn't think I needed it. Then I shopped with Debbie O'Malley, and she showed me how it looks on skin. Sold! It's pink, as described in the name, and it's gorgeous. It just shows how deceptive online photos can be. Look at the difference between Tom Ford's photo at the top of this feature and my photo below.

Mine is pink! Pink Sand is a gorgeous shade in the compact and on the skin.

Tom Ford describes it this way...
Instantly brightens face with a healthy glow and natural burst of color. The pearlescent shades give cheeks a gorgeous luster and a radiant finish. Packaged in an ivory and gold Tom Ford Soleil compact.

I took my swatch photos in full, mid-day sun. I swatched the cream with a sponge-tipped applicator to apply it to my arm with medium intensity.

This color makes me deliriously happy. It's pretty; it gleams; and it can be layered to achieve any level of color intensity I want. How much more can a pink lover want? Oh, it stays put too.

If you passed, like I did, based on the online photo, try it in a store - or just order it. I know it's pricey, but the compact is large. It will last you a long time.

If you don't have a Tom Ford advisor you like, give Debbie O'Malley at call at (202) 966-9700, extension 2253. You will love her.

  1. It's that gorgeous abundance of golden pearl that causes this mid-toned pink to look coral from certain angles, but pink it is---a beautiful warm, juicy pink redolent of sunny days spent outdoors. No additional highlighter is needed because Pink Sand glows and glistens all on its own without looking sparkly or glittery. The formula is a dream to work with. It applies effortlessly and stays put once it sets. It also retains its color and gleam throughout the day. If I had to limit myself to just one blush, Pink Sand would be it. In fact, last summer Pink Sand was my daily go-to so I promptly bought another one for this summer. I really like the formula and wish TF would bring us more colors in the future.

  4. The Pink Sand iswatch is so lovely! Reading your comments and Eileen's, I am so tempted to try this particular glowing, pink blush. I have been told I could use a tad more color on my cheeks, and this may be the perfect product to accomplish that! Looking summery and glowing would be a wonderful change!

  5. Hi Sandra,

Pink Sand will give you everything from a warm, natural glow to a fully realized burst of color. It just depends on your preference and application technique. It is so versatile and you will glow, glow, glow with good health :-) Reviews seem to b unanimous--Pink Sand is extraordinarily beautiful. It is pricey, but you get a generous amount of product. Even though I wore it almost every day last spring into summer, I only have a bit of pan showing and it is still in excellent condition. I bought a fresh one this year because I don't want to be without it. I don't know of anyone who bought it who has been disappointed--assuming, of course, that they are fans of warm pink and that they like a luminous finish. It's gorgeous.

  6. I was trying to avoid this but you sold me! It's on it's way. Tom Ford Summer collections have taken a bite out of my wallet the past 3 years, just gorgeous items!

  7. Dear CG, which type of brush would be the best to apply cream blush in your opinion? Ingrid

  8. In general, Anonymous, use a synthetic brush with cream products. There are exceptions. One is Armani's foundation brush.
