Shopping for Charity - Miracle on Madison Avenue

Best Things in Beauty readers know I was shopping for charity last week. For a $50 donation to the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC, I received a 20% discount on everything I purchased at a very long list of stores (including Saks), restaurants, salons, and other establishments. I got more than my money's worth!

There's another shopping event coming up to benefit children. The 23rd Annual Miracle on Madison Avenue shopping extravaganza will take place on Sunday, December 6. For this event, you don't have to do anything more than shop with Miracle merchants, who will be donating 20% of their sales for the day to the Children’s Aid Society. Children’s Aid provides vital health services to under-served children in New York City.

If you plan to be near New York on December 6, it will be a perfect time to shop. Here's a partial list of the stores participating - a who's who of the fashion world.
  • Armani Collezioni
  • Baccarat
  • BCBG Max Azria
  • Calvin Klein Collection
  • Clarins Skin Spa
  • Cole Hahn
  • Etro
  • Donna Karan Collection
  • Giorgio Armani
  • Gucci
  • Hermes
  • J. Choo USA, Inc.

You can learn more at the Children's Aid Society Web site or check out the event blog. There are photos of last year's Miracle on Madison Avenue at this link. Wouldn’t it be great if your purchases this holiday season help a child?
