The Friday Forum - July 9

Follower Alert: Next week (mid-week), I am going to have a special follower contest to thank you for reading Best Things in Beauty. In order to be eligible to enter, on the day I announce the contest, you will have to be a follower of Best Things in Beauty through the RSS feed, have an e-mail subscription, or be a BTiBeauty Twitter follower. We will have some special prizes, so sign up to follow now if you want to have a chance to win.

Isn't Queen Anne's Lace pretty? It volunteers everywhere. Here it is, growing up into the lower branches of a Japanese Maple in my garden. It's unruly, but magnificent in its delicacy. Our summer has been brutal so far - incredibly hot and dry. I'm hoping for a tiny break this weekend. Lower temperatures and some rain are promised.

It's time for The Friday Forum! Most of you know, we share information in The Friday Forum. Are you using a fabulous product and want to sing its praises? Tell us about it! Did you find a beauty product disappointing? Tell us why! Do you have questions others might be able to answer? We can help! Want to talk about skin care? I'm game! Just use the comments. We have busy weekends and slow ones on the forum. Either way, I always enjoy hearing from you. I know you will be busy this weekend. I hope you have fun!

As usual, I will share the best beauty bits (noteworthy sales and special offers) with you over the weekend. I'll put them in the comments.

The giveaway contest for Josie Maran's Argan Bronzing Argan Oil ends tomorrow night, Saturday, July 10. Don't forget to enter! Please check back Sunday morning to see if random.org chose you as the winner. We will start our next giveaway contest on Sunday. It's a special summer beauty contest. I think you'll like it. That means we will have two contests at some point next week. Fun summer days!

What's on your mind? The microphone is yours!

  1. I'm raving about Le Metier's eyeshadows. I've long been crazy about eyeshadows and these have won me over. If you are ever near a Le Metier de Beaute counter you definitely need to have an artist show you their layering technique. It's the only brand that colors show through and create beautiful new shades. And no, I'm not affiliated with the brand, I'm just in love!

  2. Marcia,

I am dying to see the full collection. It is available here only at Neiman Marcus at Mazza, and I don't go there very often. I'm going to have to stop by there very soon. They have so many products I want to try! Everything I see in blogs looks gorgeous!

What's the gist of their layering technique?

  3. There is a product I like to use in all seasons to bring hydratation and comfort to my skin: its' the Sensai cellular performance Mask by Kanebo. My skins drinks it and shows how happy it feels afterwards! Do you know this product and do you like masks too?

  4. Clarisse,

I don't use Kanebo Sensai products. They aren't readily available here (in my usual haunts), so I never get around to them. I have had samples, but a small sample can only tell you so much.

I adore masks! I have/use so many that I love. My La Mer masks are among my favorites, but I am game for any type (as long as it's appropriate for my skin type). I wrote recently about a mud mask I loved, and I use the Sisley masks a lot. They are fabulous (as I'm sure you know). Not inexpensive, but fabulous!

Now you have me wanting to try the Kanebo one. Anyone else love it?
