Dr. Perricone to Launch Super
Dr. Nicholas Perricone, creator of my favorite Cold Plasma, is launching a new line targeted at the 25-35 set. Super skin care will be available at Sephora in October, with prices ranging from $20 to $50. Perricone will also open three Super stores in California this year.
Thirteen products will make up the Super line. He developed it using molecules from his favorite "superfoods," a term he uses for ingredients with high nutritional value that also benefit the skin. A hand and cuticle cream features the probiotics found in yogurt, which are intended to stimulate collagen synthesis for smooth, soft, and healthy skin. Other products count acai berry, melon, chili peppers, watercress, and dark chocolate among their ingredients.
This line isn't intended for me. Dr. Perricone has already taken care of my age group. I love the idea that he's introducing products that will encourage the younger set take good care of their skin - at an affordable price. I think his timing is great, since interest in skin care seems to be at an all-time high. The younger the better!

It's wonderful that the skin care needs of young women are being addressed. When I was first becoming seriously interested in skin care back in the sixties, there were really only two basic types of skin care readily available: There were things like Ten-O-Six astringent for teens at one end of the spectrum and then there were creams so heavy you could lube a car with them at the other end! There was so very little in between.
ReplyDeleteToday's young women are truely fortunate because, in addition to recognizing difference such as oily, dry, acne prone, aging, etc.; companies are beginning to recognize the differences within skin types. For exmple, a woman with post-menopause dry skin is going to have much different needs than those of a young "twenty something" with dry skin; a forty year old woman with oily skin is going to have different needs than those of a teen with oily skin and acne, etc. Perricone's more specialized approach is a good thing. Hopefully many others will follow suit.
Hi Eileen!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had been as careful as you were in the '60s. Instead I was still trying to get a tan, burning instead.
Great comment...I hope everyone sees it! Thanks.
I think Perricone's Super sounds like it could really be super.
