Chanel Blush Duo Tweed Effect in Tweed Fuchsia for Holiday 2010
Thursday, while shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue in Chevy Chase, Maryland, I purchased Chanel Blush Duo Tweed Effect in Tweed Fuchsia ($45), an item from the Holiday 2010 Collection. I had a blast swatching with Georgia Marmaras, Chanel Beauty Specialist as Saks. Each time I told her I had selected my last item - I really had to stop - I chose another.
Although Tweed Fuchsia looked bright in the pan, it was gorgeous on my arm. The next day, I applied it to my cheeks and continued to be impressed with the beautiful rosy pink color.
Here is the best way I can describe Tweed Fuchsia. It's a rosy pink that sparkles. Yes, it is sparkly. You can see the sparkles in the pan, and you can see them on the cheeks. If "mild, micro-sparkling" bothers you, this may not be the best blush for you. If you can live with the teeny tiny sparkles during the day or want some "wattage" in the evening, you are going to love this glowing blush! I'm very happy with it.
My swatch photo was taken in mid-day sun (you can see that my arm reflected the sunlight). I applied Tweed Fuchsia heavily, using the brush that came with the compact. There is no way I would apply this blush as heavily on my face as I applied it to my arm. My skin is too light. I wanted you to see the richness of the shade, so I gave it 3-4 passes with the little brush. When I wear this blush, I will apply it with a lighter hand and a fluffier brush.
I think the shade is incredibly pretty. It brightens my face and makes me look alive - even if I'm fighting Friday fatigue, as I was when I tested it on my cheekbones. It's definitely a cool shade, so if you like cool pink and fuchsia, you really need to look for this one.
This is a great time to shop for the Chanel Holiday 2010 Collection in the stores. The collection just arrived, and you will want to be able to see all of items before they start to sell out. It's Beauty Week at Saks too. A pretty python-print tote (with a few samples inside) will be yours with any $100 purchase in the beauty department. Some counters have gifts with purchase. If you prefer to buy online from Chanel, you will have to wait for the company to post the collection on its Web site.
Look for my Chanel Holiday lip gloss feature soon.

What a gorgeous blush! I don't like sparkles on my cheeks during the day, so I think I'll stick with my EB in Moroccan Rose for daytime wear. Night; however, is a different matter. Bring on the micro glitter! I can't think of anything more festive than a rosy pink with golden fairy dust. You're killing me, lady! I can hardly wait to get to the counter this week.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Eileen - - gorgeous! Thanks for swatching. Many pinks/cool shades turn orangey on me, but this looks like it may work.
ReplyDeleteI forgot about Beauty Week at Saks. That could be dangerous with new Chanel available.
ReplyDeleteHi Eileen, have fun shopping! I really meant little "sparklies," not glitter. You won't look like you ran through that confetti they use for celebrations - just a little sparkly. :)
ReplyDeleteThe sparkles can be minimized with a light application. Give it a try.
Leigh, I can't even imagine this one turning orange. I have seen interesting "off" photos of it on other sites, and it looked orange-toned. It's pink through and through. Let us know how it looks on your skin!
ReplyDeleteMarcia, danger abounds in the department stores. I went to Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus yesterday and spent more than I had. New items arrive every week. Enter at your own peril. LOL!
