Weekend Roundup - December 11

Are the malls a little too crazy for you? Then try some beauty shopping from home after you see what we've tried, tested, and recommended for you this week. We're sure you'll find something you love - for yourself or for gifts.

Gaia from The Non-Blonde showed us one of her favorites of the season: the Barocco Eye Colour Trio from Clarins. This palette is beautiful inside and out. I received it about 10 days ago, and I love it. I am hoping for sunshine to be able get swatch photos for you today. Don't wait, though; head over to The Non-Blonde to see it now. Like neutrals? It's stunning!

Kari continued her holiday collection features at Fab over Forty. This week she showed us the lipstick from the L'Wren Scott Collection for Lancôme. Will this pretty lip color brighten your look for the holidays? If you want to see more of L'Wren Scott's creations, just scroll down. I featured the eye shadow quad and the glossy lip creme this week.

Sometimes, we wonder if at-home skin-care treatments are all they're cracked up to be. At Gouldylox Reviews, Kelly shared her experience with the Personal Microderm kit, and the results were ultra-professional. The kit may allow you to skip your next trip to the dermatologist. Have a massage instead.

Amy had us dreaming about spring at Café Makeup. Give me a choice, and I would fast forward right through winter. The new Chanel Côte D'Azur Collection, with its Promesse Quadra Eye Shadow, evokes warm sun, the sparkling ocean, and sandy beaches.

You will fall in love with the latest lipsticks and lip glosses from Edward Bess. Sabrina shared them with us The Beauty Look Book. The shades are lovely, and her swatches are spot on! I bought all of these gorgeous pinks. While my swatches are never as good as hers, you can see them here and here.

Product Girl is in a contest. If Carla wins, you could win big too! Check out her Make Up For Ever Lips to Love contest and vote. If she wins, she can give away 10 train cases with Make Up For Ever beauty inside. I'm there!

Debbi has some tried-and-true products that she's featured recently at DivaDebbi. This week, she shared with us a foundation she loves, a mascara she likes, and a shampoo and conditioner that, well, sadly disappoint.

Do you have several holiday parties to attend, but don't want to spend a lot of money on new clothing? Chelsea from BeautyXposé showed us a new, affordable way to wear designer clothes to all those parties - from the runway to your house.

Jane from Daly Beauty experimented with Tigi Foxy Curls Contour Cream to give her hair a beachy look. She shared with us her results and images of her celebrity "beach hair."

Here at Best Things in Beauty, you had a chance to meet Alex Chantecaille with me and discover the Chantecaille makeup and skin care launches for the next few months. The next blockbuster palette will feature sea turtles, and I'll be ordering it the nanosecond it's offered. Scroll down for the new Le Métier de Beauté Kaleidoscope for the holidays. Both The Non-Blonde and I are wearing it, and we are wowed!

You don't have much time left to enter my incredible Best Things in Beauty giveaway contests of the week! You could win Xtreme Lashes' AMPLIF∙eye Lash & Brow Fortifier. It's safe, and it works. Who wouldn't want lush lashes - or better brows? You also have an opportunity to win Calvin Klein fragrances for you or your guy! Check out the giveaway at this link. Hurry!

Happy Holidays!
