Kinerase Under Eye Rescue

Is there a "perfect" eye cream? Probably not. I have found one that comes pretty close.

I have been using Kinerase Under Eye Rescue ($78 at Sephora, but you can find it for less online) for years and recently returned to it. It is designed with the active ingredients Kinetin (treats the visible signs of aging), eyeseryl tetrapeptide (helps alleviate the appearance of under-eye circles), palmitoyl tripeptide-3 (a peptide that helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles), and aloe vera (soothes the skin).

Does it moisturize the eye area (over and under) without creeping into my eyes? Yes. Does it reduce the appearance of tiny wrinkles? Absolutely, and it does that well! Does it banish dark circles? I'm not sure. I'm not the best tester for that. Dark circles are caused by many things, but most often they are from tiny capillaries exposed by thin or translucent skin. Can you fix that? Yes, but I'm not sure many of us want to develop fat pads or puffiness under our eyes to hide the capillaries. I have read that vitamin K works, and there is some evidence that laser treatments work.

I have been fickle with my eye creams. Most recently, I was using Dr. Perricone's Cold Plasma Eye, and I liked it a lot. I ran out, and I found a fresh tube of Under Eye Rescue in my bathroom. So, I am using Under Eye Rescue again, and I'm pleased with the effects.

How about you? What is your favorite eye cream and why? I'm always on the hunt for a new one to try, so today, I'm asking for your advice.

  2. I'm in between eye creams now. The only eye cream that has ever made a visible difference for me is Darphin's Stimuskin Plus. There was a clear lightening of my dark circles and the small little line that bothers me was plumped out. Plus I love the smell and ingredients. I ran out some time ago and started using samples. The Chanel Eye Lift cream seems to work good in the morning for depuffing and firming. But I still need a replacement for moisture. Eye cream purchases always bug me. So expensive but so necessary.

  3. i am on a hunt for a good eye cream. my main problem is that i have terrible dark circles plus these big lines around them that accentuate the darkness even more (for a lack of better description, panda eyes). i really would love to get rid of these lines- i can conceal the darkness more or less but the lines remain :( so far i got a sample of La Mer Eye concentrate but after 2 weeks there is no reduction of dark circles or those weird lines around my eyes. i am not sure what else to try since La Mer got such good reviews but did nothing for me...

  4. Hi friends,

BroncoMom, I really like this one. Can't claim it's the best one on earth, but it has worked for me for years.

Taunya, thanks for the recommendation! I will give Darphin a try.

Anna, as much as I love La Mer, I am not keen on the eye concentrate. I have it, but stopped using it. I am still on the hunt for the perfect one. Just got a Kate Somerville one I am eager to test.

  5. Love Chantecaille Nano Gold eye. The anti-inflammatory benefits are outstanding, as is the ingredient list. Apple stem cells, rose water, ginseng, Swiss herbs, jasmine wax, oh, and peptides!

  6. Hi Anonymous!

Interesting that you selected Chantecaille! That is the one I have been alternating with the Kinerase. :)

I just started testing a new one from Kate Somerville. Stay tuned on that one.
