Preview: Guerlain Fall 2012 Color Collection

Fasten your seat belts.  Guerlain's Autumn/Fall 2012 Color Collection is arriving at counters, and you'll want to go along for the ride. It's a beautiful collection.

Only some of the colors arrived at Neiman Marcus with the display. I'll start showing you what I was able to purchase as soon as the sunshine returns. You can revisit the early publicity at this link.

  2. Alas, these haven't reached the counter here yet but they are expected next week. I'm curious about the blusher combinations and just how we're supposed to work with them. When I first heard about them, I thought it would be a sculpt/highlight type of thing. Since seeing the actual color combinations, though, I'm not so sure. In any event, I can hardly wait to have the opportunity to go play :-)

  3. i know the trend for fall is a dark, almost "vampy" lip. i hope guerlain offers something light and neutral. i'm not seeing it on the display. i also hope there's a lip with sparkle or shimmer. i'm over 40 and i'm uncomfortable wering a matte lip. am i the only 1 that feels this way?

  4. Hi everyone, am on iPhone. At hospital with Mom. Decided to have an ambulance bring her over to figure out what's wrong. Will answer questions when I get home.

  6. Hi everyone,

Mom is home - and she is OK (calcium still high). I almost killed my back trying to get her back in the house - even with help. She is dead weight right now. Must go lie down. I'll tell you about the blushes and matte lip color (not flat matte) first thing in the morning. I'm exhausted.

  8. Hi Anonymous,

Guerlain hasn't forgotten their chief demographic (women 40+) and have included some lighter, shimmery shades in the fall lineup. There is a Rouge G de Brilliant in Bonnie (beige) and two Kiss Kiss glosses: Grenade (pink) and Sable Show (beige). Chanel also had some beautiful options in their fall collection for women who prefer softer, more neutral lip looks :-)

Being a "lipstick addict"... I'm sure that so many colours will attract me !

  10. Between watching le Tour de France and your Guerlain post, it makes me wonder why I left Alexandria, VA for the country and I'm not in France. Lovely, lovely tease. Merci

  11. Good morning Charlestongirl,

I hope you and your mom got a restorative night's sleep and that you are taking some time to enjoy the morning with that purrrr-fect little love of yours, Charlie, curled up on your lap.

  12. Guerlain is my kryptonite - I'm going to go on a pilgrimage to the Paris store one day and never leave.

I'm moving back to the DC area after about 15 years away - any beauty hotspots I need to vist?

Just read the comments - hope you're mom is doing better, best of luck xo

  13. Hi again,

No time for testing these gorgeous colors. Spent most of the day doing stuff for Mom. She is no better and no worse. Sadly out of it mentally. She did eat a good dinner, though.

Now sitting in bed with a screaming back. Think I'll go find some ice.
