Le Métier de Beauté is Pulling out All the Stops with New Products for Neiman Marcus Beauty Event

Four new Kaleidoscopes ($95 each), eight new Liquid Eye Prisms ($38) that left me drooling, five new lip pencils ($36), five new eye pencils ($36), and new skin care! All in one introduction later this week. Beauty Event at Neiman Marcus starts Thursday, September 10. I will be at the Mazza store as soon as they open. Not only will they be offering free facials, Dustin Lujan will be there with Michael and Chae. I spent two hours playing with all the new testers on Saturday and left gobsmacked.

The Kaleidoscopes have travel-related names. All have a translucent pressed powder (very much like an HD powder) on the top level, a blush immediately below, and two coordinating eye shadow shades at the bottom. See update below. The Kaleidoscope above may be called Full Stream, but it's also possible I can't read my own scrawl. I was writing on Michael's business card - around the print.

I'm sure the bus Kaleidoscope is called All Aboard. It's gorgeous - one of my two favorites. Directly below, you'll see Lift Off, the one I pre-ordered. You will note that the blush is softer than the one in All Aboard, better for my pale skin.

The fourth was in a display case, and we couldn't get it out. The photo has a yellow cast. Sorry, that was unavoidable. It's called Luxury Liner. Shown below, it appears to be one I'm going to want.

Now, to the drop-dead, I need them all Liquid Eye Prisms. It's a trend now to release liquid eye shadows - it seems like every line has them - but almost all of them are intensely colored. These aren't. They offer maximum control. They can be used as eye shadow bases or as shadows. You can build the color as you please. They are beyond gorgeous.

The new pencils are shown in the next two photos. The lip pencils have a new coral color that will be useful for many, and there's a deep red that will serve all shades of red lipstick.

The eye pencils are soft (not breakable soft) and apply like a dream. I'm smitten with the green one.

Michael drew them all on his hand. The eyes are at the top, with the lip colors below. There's also a smudge of one of the new eye shadows (drool!).

I don't know much about the new skin care yet - aside from the fact that it will hydrate and plump your skin. I'll find out more and let you know later. I do know that it costs $225 for 1.7 oz.

There will be a gift with a purchase of $400 during Beauty Event: a full-sized skin care product! My favorite too.

The two big days at Mazza will be Thursday and Saturday if you want to see Dustin there. Call and make an appointment. You know how popular he is. You can reach Michael Reinhardt at (202) 966-9700, extension 2258. I think Dustin will be with the new rep at Tysons on Friday (can't confirm).

I don't ever remember a time when Le Métier de Beauté introduced so much new color at one time, and it's all gorgeous. How, with no job, am I going to acquire all these new beauties?

Update 9/10: I got the true scoop on the Kaleidoscopes today. The third shade down is either a bronzer or highlighter, not an eye shadow. On the train and plane, the shade is a bronzer. On the Luxury Liner and helicopter, it's a highlighter.

Additional information: 1) the lip liners are a new formula that is waterproof; 2) the eye liners are a new gel formula that is water resistant. Dustin Lujan supplied all of this update information.

  2. I'm blown away by the number of subscribers who have cancelled since I wrote again. Maybe I should have just stayed away! :)

I'm also a bit surprised by the apparent lack of interest in this collection. Trust me. It's really nice!

  3. Please don't get discouraged - I love your blog, and I expect many others do too. Your posts have put quite a dent in my bank account :-) You seem to review and swatch all my favorite brands - you have good taste!

  4. Hi Charlestongirl,

I don't think your readers have canceled. I know I didn't and yet I didn't get notification of a new post. I discovered this latest one today by sheer serendipity. I remembered you had had a problem once before with subscriptions being deleted and so I thought I'd just check out your site and her you are :-) Besides, in the previous post, if dedicated Nemo specifically asked you if you knew about the new Kaleidoscopes, do you think she'd let this post pass without a comment? In any event, I'm going to re-subscribe as soon as I finish here.

I'm really glad to see LMdB upping their game and launching so many beauties. When LMdB first came out, it was very creative, a bit edgy, and had some of the best formula on the planet. Unfortunately, after establishing itself as the "It" cult brand, it floundered on the rocks of management and marketing problems and lost traction. It didn't take long for the other luxury brands to quickly surpass it in terms of quality and innovation and so I kind of lost interest. Seeing so many ew items; however, has perked my interest right up and so I'll definitely check out the counter. Justin from your pictures, I'm sure there will be more than one thing to tempt me :-)

  5. Im soo tempted by this collection. I just wish all of the department stores wouldn't have their beauty events all at the same time. My bank account is suffering tremendously between Chanel, Cle de Peau, Chantecaille and now le metier de beaute. Will you be swatching them any time soon?

  6. I had subscribed to you under two different email accounts. I unsubscribed from one of them this morning and checked the other to make sure it was active. I also double checked my junk file (which is the first no-brainier thing to do) and made sure feedblitz could deliver. I'm not sure what the problem is, but if I didn't get notification on an active subscription, there are probably other people who didn't get notification, either :-(

  7. Anahita, I will be swatching the eye shadows. I can't afford the Kaleidoscopes, so no swatches.

  9. Well I still get your posts and I am delighted when I do! I met Dustin Finally last month at NM Houston Galleria. I told him I had been looking forward to it after reading so much about him from your numerous posts and pics over the years. I bought to of the new kaliedsecopes and the the liquid eyeshadow in Aurore. I switched completely over to the skin care line over the last 6 months and could not be more pleased! I still use the Omorovicza creams at night. But my skin is so transformed. The company is a true delight! I can not thank you enough because I never heard ofthe line prior to reading your blog. Thank you so very much!

  10. The data I do have says 606 people have laid eyeballs on this post. That's relatively low for BTiB. We'll see how the next post does.

  11. Charleston Girl, I am delighted to see the new LMdB kaleidoscopes and liquid eyeshadows. I must have On the Go, and I will wait to see your swatches before I order any eyeshadows. It has made me so happy that you are coming back, and I felt like I was reading a post from an old friend when Eileen checked in!

  12. The kaleidoscope I want is All Aboard, not On the Go! :)

  18. Hello Charlestongirl, I wanted to be another person to reassure you that there is a glitch in receiving your emails as this post went right into my spam box. I am inclined to believe that this happened to many people and they have not checked their spam. I always read every one of your posts and do not see all the regulars' that always respond.
I know that I am one that raises my hand to say that I am so glad you are back with another post and look forward to seeing the collection in person soon. I also would like to pick up the eye brightening powder that seems back in stock, finally.
It's always a delight to see your post in my email and I am very glad you are on the mend! Theresa
