Perricone MD Neuropeptide Deep Wrinkle Serum

Dr. Perricone's Neuropeptide Deep Wrinkle Serum ($180) is for people who don't want deep wrinkles - not just those who might have them! It's a fast-acting treatment - called the five-minute miracle - that effectively minimizes the appearance of lines and wrinkles, addresses loss of elasticity, and creates a more youthful appearance. I've been using it for almost a month, and I like it.

This age-fighting complex transforms the skin's texture with the help of four distinct peptides. I've decided that you have to have peptides in your daily skin-care cocktail. The peptides were the primary reason I had to try this one.

This lightweight serum instantly smoothes lines and wrinkles, helps improve the appearance of sagging skin with an immediate tightening effect, and enhances the complexion's overall health. Phospholipids contribute hydrating and repairing benefits.

Perricone's research shows some excellent independent testing results.
  • 90% of subjects reported that, with sustained use, they continued to see improvements in the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
  • 90% noticed an improvement in their skin's texture/smoothness.
  • 90% reported that their skin appeared more radiant.
  • 87% reported that their skin appeared healthier and renewed.
  • 77% reported an improvement in the appearance of lines and wrinkles within five minutes of application.
  • 73% reported that, after using the product, the overall quality of their skin improved.
What impresses me is that this serum is just slightly thicker than water - and it's effective. I have been using it under my moisturizer, and I have been pleased with the tone and elasticity of my skin. I'll continue to use it and update you after more time has passed. As with all of the patented Perricone technology, Deep Wrinkle Neuropeptide Serum delivers long-lasting anti-aging benefits, cumulative with continued use.

What's in it?
  • Neuropeptides to instantly relax lines and wrinkles and keep working to do that over time
  • DMAE to firm, tone, contour, and lift the appearance of skin
  • Phospholipids to help repair and hydrate the skin
It also has glycolic acid in it. What's not in it? Synthetic waxes, fillers, fragrances, and dyes. It also has no parabens in the ingredients. It is fragranced - beautifully. It smells like roses - just for a minute, like someone passed through the room with a bouquet.

The serum is available at Sephora, Dr. Perricone's Web site, Nordstrom (where I bought mine), and Perricone counters.

This weekend, DC-area beauties can attend a special Perricone MD event at Sephora at Tysons Corner Center. Four skin-care gurus from Perricone, including Rene Marshall, will be at Sephora all day Saturday, May 8 (10:30 to 7:00), offering wonderful free gifts with purchase, mini-facials, and consultations. There will also be a raffle for a basket of Perricone products worth $400. Worth stopping by to find the right Perricone products for your skin - or your mom's if you find yourself without a Mother's Day present the day before!

yNs Radiance

The other day, I mentioned Radiance. Today, I will tell you a little more about it. I discovered this product with a little digging. I had tried Dermapril-SP, but I didn't like that company's marketing practices. So, I had to Google the ingredients. In doing so, I found yNs Radiance.

Hopefully, they will forgive me for stealing shamelessly from their Web site. I can't describe the product any better than they did, so read on below and see what you think. I can tell you that these ingredients are proven, and I love the product. It has the consistency of a gel cream, and a little goes a long way, meaning the 1 oz container will last for months. As I mentioned, I use it under my La Mer.

This product works! Matrixyl 3000 is used in other products, but not at the 10% concentration offered in Radiance. We should all know by now that Hyaluronic Acid is a superb product for hydrating our skin. And, if you really want to be "up on your ingredients," do a Web search on Argireline. Radiance packages all three, plus a few soothing ingredients, in one fabulous product.

The yNs company offers a 10-day trial set of three products, one of which is Radiance. The other two are a nice cleanser and a serum. Beware of the serum if your skin is sensitive to Retinol, as mine is. Regardless, it's a nice way to try Radiance before making that $70 investment.

Compare Radiance Peptide Cream versus the Competition (Charlestongirl recommended reading)

Radiance peptide cream formula combines 15% Argireline® and 10% Matrixyl® 3000 two powerful peptides with 10% hyaluronic acid to create an intense moisturizing treatment. Clinically-proven peptides Argireline® and Matrixyl® 3000 offer lipid-replacing technology and encourage cellular renewal with an innovative blend of Hyaluronic Acid, Jojoba, and Shea Butter. Shea Butter protects against the dehydrating impact of external factors, Jojoba provides a protective barrier on the skin, and Hyaluronic Acid holds water in the intercellular matrix of the skin.

Intense Skin Restoration Requires Clinically Proven Concentrations

Argireline® 15% (Acetyl-Hexapeptide) deters the degeneration of collagen and elastin, smoothes the skin and reduces the depth of lines and wrinkles. Argireline® delivers superior anti-wrinkle results. It is a combination of amino acids formulated to relax facial wrinkles, reduce the degree of existing wrinkles, and stop their future development. In clinical testing, an emulsion containing, 10% Acetyl Hexapeptide (Argireline ®) was observed that severity of wrinkles around the eyes decreased up to 17% after 15 days, and up to 27% after 30 days.

Matrixyl® 3000 10% is designed to stimulate new fibroblast molecules in the skin and increase new collagen production to strengthen the structure of skin tissue to significantly reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Clinical study in which two panels of 23 volunteers aged 39 to 74 applied a cream containing 3% Matrixyl® 3000 to one half of their face against placebo or 3% Matrixyl® on other half, twice a day for 56 days. A percentage of 3% Matrixyl® 3000 showed 37% less wrinkle density, 15% less wrinkle depth, and 18% less wrinkle volume.

Hyaluronic Acid 10% is virtually unmatched in hydrating the skin because of its ability to retain water more effectively than any other natural substance. Supplementation of Hyaluronic Acid provides increased smoothness, softening, elasticity, and decreased facial wrinkles.
