The Friday Forum - March 19

See this beauty cat? That's about how I feel right now. I could take a nap or just go to sleep early, which will probably be the outcome of this dilemma. Bengal boy is sitting next to me purring. He's dying for attention, and he would love to have his night-night treats early, so despite the lovely weather, it may be bedtime for me.

I had to post The Friday Forum, though! The forum is devoted to what you have to say about anything related to beauty. Let's chat! Are you using a fabulous product and want to sing its praises? Tell us about it! Did you find a beauty product disappointing? Tell us why! Do you have questions others might be able to answer? We can help! Want to talk about skin care? I'm game! Just use the comments. We have busy weekends and slow ones on the forum. Either way, I always enjoy hearing from you.

As usual, I will share beauty bits with you over the weekend. I'll put them in the comments, so check for free shipping offers and other treats from beauty companies.

I do have a question for you. Would you like to see advertisements here at Best Things in Beauty? If you have an opinion, please leave a comment.

Don't forget to enter the Snubbr contest by tomorrow night. We have two other fabulous giveaway contests already lined up. The next one will start Sunday.

The microphone is yours!

Hi! I am still in love with my new Chanel Coco Rouge lipsticks, and I wish that I would win the lottery so that I could buy them all. Lipsticks tend to dry out my lips, but these feel good. Mademoiselle is a great color, and I'm glad that I listened to the hype this time.

Any tips for finding a foundation that isn't too heavy for my over forty face? Revlon Photoready was a huge disappointment because it settled into every line and pore, and I looked shiny. I am suddenly at a loss as to what kind of foundation to use - I don't have the dryness associated with more mature skin, but I am tired of trying to buff out makeup that is settling in every imperfection.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Kathy,

I am a huge Armani foundation fan. There are several award-winning types from which to choose. Check out their Foundation Finder at: http://www.giorgioarmanibeauty-usa.com/_us/_en/lookandtips/foundation-finder.aspx

No matter where you live, if you aren't sure, give Loyd Cassler at Saks a call at 1-240-497-5258. Just tell him Best Things in Beauty sent you, and you will get a free foundation consultation - type and shade!

We will both be wearing Rouge Coco this weekend. Enjoy!

Kathy, I know of a couple of friends that use Photoready as well- it makes their skin look perfect but the main problem is foundation does not come off easily at all. In fact, one friend went to a spa for a facial wearing Photoready, and a person there had terrible time trying to remove traces of it from her skin! For a cheaper foundation I suggest to try Maybelline Age Rewind - it does not settle into my giant pores but covers them nicely. It is a medium coverage foundation but the best one i tried so far.
