Oh dear! What an unfortunate name for any makeup! Pallid? Really? Wan, pale, washed out, lacking in luster, insipid, feeble, colorless, jaundiced, etc. What on earth was LMdB thinking when they named this collection? I get the pastel and neon concept of the set, but pallid's connotation is paleness caused by weakness or illness. In short, describing something as pallid is definitely not a compliment.

ReplyDeleteYou are all a riot! I asked Dustin if it's too late to change the name. He said yes too late, but to him "pallid" means pastel. He wanted the connotation of light created by pale, flattering color.

It's like someone looked in a thesaurus for an unusual synonym for pale, but didn't take into consideration the different shades of meaning. After all, who aspires to a pallid complexion, with jaundiced tone, washed out eyes, wan cheeks, and colorless lips? Not me! :-D At lunch today, my gal pals were all laughing about it. We decided to call it "Convelescent Chic" LOL

I love the use of a double entendre as you have seen in my past collections. I chalk it up to the old scenario of the glass being half full or half empty. I like to keep it light hearted and able to open up a conversation while keeping the color selection killer! I myself have a little chuckle and am glad there is a little humor involved.
