The new Clé de Peau Beauté caught my eyes immediately, and after I absorbed its overall beauty, I went straight for the limited-edition cream blush in Rosy Frost ($55). I could probably be called a cream blush fanatic, although I prefer to think of my love as a sophisticated appreciation for the merits of makeup that looks like it belongs on my face.
Here is the new display - unfortunately reflecting me (white sweater and all from Saturday). The new Enchanted Winter Garden Kit ($195) is pretty, but not me. I can't pay that kind of money for three eye shadows I won't wear. However, if you love lavenders, you will find the palette irresistible.
Clé de Peau Beauté brings you an exquisitely creamy blush designed to
blend into your skin with a soft texture and rich, luminous color. It
accentuates your natural contours, giving your cheeks an enchanting
wintery glow.
It certainly does. Alanna warned me that a little goes a long way, so I am applying it with a light hand. She was right. Given the intense rose shade, I need to apply only a very light touch to transform from pale to blushing. My photo was taken in full sunlight, and I think it's too red. The color shown in Clé de Peau's own photo at the top of this feature provides a better representation of the blush color. Even the pot is pretty.
I took my swatch photos in full, mid-day sun, using a sponge-tipped applicator to apply a swatch to my arm. I probably should have grabbed a brush to get another type of photo, but I got distracted. This swatch was applied in the medium intensity range - not ultra-lightly, but definitely not as heavily as I often apply swatches for photos.
If you want color that is more subtle than this, apply less. It helps to apply a fresh dose of moisturizer right before you apply it if you want much lighter color on your cheeks. The moisturizer will give it even more slip than it already has and allow you to apply it for very transparent coverage. Once it sets, it should stay with you all day.
I think the color is a knockout. I haven't had it long, but based on my current, very light usage, this pot may last forever. It's so good looking, I'll be pleased to see this charming blush among my favorite blushers with its peerless rose-colored jar.
I purchased mine at Neiman Marcus. I have found the holiday collection and Rosy Frost Blush online at Nordstrom. I suspect you will be able to find it at all Clé de Peau Beauté sources soon. What do you think? Will this beauty go on your have-a-look list?

I have to get this! I also need red lipstick. This blush looks like a perfect change for the holiday/winter season. I don't like to look sickly pale in the winter and normally I don't wear pink, but if it suits your pale skin, my guess is that it will be good for my pale skin with warm undertone.
Thank you so much for sharing :)
I am picking up my blush, kit and pencils tomorrow:))). By the way, you can remove eyeshadow trio and blush duo from the kit and place there your cle de peau blushes. You did not mention anything about pencils ( 2 lip and 3 for eyes) from this collection. Will be interesting to know your opinion:). Thank you!!!
Gorgeous color! The holiday collection looks stunning. I splurged on the wintry pencil set, sight unseen, thinking that might be a good introduction for me to Cle de Peau. This could be the beginning of a dangerously slippery slope!
Gorgeous!!! I have never really been drawn to creme blushes, but this looks so divine!! Any application tips? Thanks as always for your hard work!!! Hope you are well!
Beautiful color!
Thank you! It's so beautiful! I was hesitant about buying it sight unseen but after seeing your swatches I feel safe making the purchase.
I just picked this beauty up today and am thrilled with it. It is a clear rose that, when blended out, results in a "maiden's blush" :-) It has a refreshing youthfulness to it, but it is far from juvenile. The clarity of color, luminosity, and translucency makes this a quintessential wintertime blush. It will be a stunning counterpoint to the crisp, cool colors of the season and will bring life to winter's paler complexions. It's one of the prettiest roses I've seen in cream form in quite awhile.
This Clé de Peau cream blush is very saturated so start out with less than you think you'll need until you get a feel for it. Also, because it is cream, it will glide on easier if your foundation is still moist so don't try putting it on over powder or mineral foundation. As for longevity, the color seems to be holding up well. The SA applied it on me at 10:30 this morning and seven hours later it still looks lovely. My skin is dry, though, and I don't know how it will fare on oilier skin types.
Hi Veornica,
If you've not used cream blush before, start with finger application as that way you'll have more control over the amount of pigment you deposit onto your cheeks. Lightly tap your finger tip onto the blush, warm it between two fingertips, then lightly tap it on your cheeks. You can use your fingers or a brush to blend it out. I prefer a good blending brush which is a combination of synthetic and real hair. Lisa Eldridge is quite fond of cream blushers and has several videos in which she shows how to apply them. You might want to take a look at her application technique. It's really simplicity itself. Start with a well moisturized and prepped face. Initially, use less product (color) than you think you'll need and build it up if you want something more vibrant or intense. Once you've used a particular product a couple of times, you'll know exactly how much to use to get a smooth flush of flattering color. To reiterate, check out Lisa Eldridge's tutorials using cream blusher. She seems to love the stuff :-)
Hi Eileen! Did you buy anything else from this collection? And if yes, would you recommend pencil holiday set or kit? Thank you!
Oh what a beauty!...THe color is so delightful! I love this terribly expensive brand, they always tempt you with terribly gorgeous marvels!!!:-)
By the way, no Voilette de Madame fragrance available at the moment anywhere...they haven't heard of it at Guerlain's (might be a treat for Xmas, once the flagship in Champs Elysées has reopened by the end of november...)
I purchased this blush and I love it. Usually, I would avoid a color like this as I have facial redness and broken capillaries. As you and Eileen said, use it sparingly and you will be fine. It truly is a "maiden's blush" as Eileen described it. I think it would work for a variety of skin tones. It lasts for many hours without fading and is very silky to apply. It gives a sophisticated, natural glow and life to the skin for us ladies of-a-certain-age. It isn't an overly bright or "cheap" looking shade. It would be equally lovely on a young woman. I will try it on my older son's girlfriend who is 26. On another note, I just purchased Guerlain's newest foundation. I think it may be called Perfection and it truly is! It blew me away! Fabulous coverage with a natural look. You can't tell I have redness problems but no masky look with this! Long lasting, fresh skin. Not greasy nor will it mummify on your face. You must check it out for yourself. For me, it's Holy Grail.
Hi Anonymous @ 10:16
Sorry, this is the only item I bought. The overall color story for this collection just didn't really suit my coloring. The exception was the cream blush.
Thank you Eileen ! Lucky you that those aren't your colors!:) I wish they wouldn't be mine either! But I love purples! Well! I am just going to enjoy it then:)))
Eileen, your description is great!! It's funny how you became a great part of this blog. Very nice!! I am planning to buy it as well, and I saw in the product exactly what you said in your description!!
So divine and the packaging is exquisite.
