Laura Geller Plus Giveaway Contest!

Laura Geller makes some of the most wonderful face and cheek colors on earth. They captured my attention at Sephora, with names like Blush-N-Brighten, Bronze-N-Brighten, and Balance-N-Bronze, and beautiful swirly colors inside those great flip-top containers with cute little windows so that you can see what's inside. No need to remember names or numbers!

No matter which of the products you select, you will find multi-dimensional color, just the right amount of pop, and some of the longest lasting face and cheek colors on earth. I have many of the colors because they are all buildable, meaning that I can use the right amount for my fair skin and experiment with colors that might otherwise be too dark.

My fair-skin favorites?

I love Ethereal Balance, a combo color with a rose pink on one side and tan on the other. Swirled together, the two sides make a nice pink blusher. I don't know if the company still makes it - I can't locate it on Sephora or Laura Geller's site. They do make Ethereal Rose ($29.50), a marbelized blend of pink and pearl, which is also tops on my list of favorites.

Bronze-N-Brighten ($35) is a great bronzer or blusher. A nice creamy power with swirls of beige and soft pink, it delivers dewy radiant color without any orange tones - perfect for most of us. It's available in Fair and Regular shades.

Blush-N-Brighten ($29.50) comes in eight shades at Laura Geller and six at Sephora, and many of these work for me. Berry and Pink Grapefruit have earned a permanent place on my counter. Another shade that I tried recently and liked is Golden Apricot. Most of the Web site swatches make it look very orange, but it's a bronze, rose, and golden peach shade that's perfect for summer.

I scored an extra Golden Apricot, so I am offering it as the prize for our first giveaway contest. To enter, just e-mail bestthingsinbeautycontests@gmail.com and tell me what your favorite Best Things in Beauty posting has been. The contest will close at midnight Tuesday, July 21. Good Luck! Your e-mail address will be safe with me - I promise.

LAURA GELLER! I love her cosmetics - they fall into my "corrective" category because they conceal flaws and enhance assets - much like BeneFit, Laura Mercier and Paula Dorf. Leave it to a makeup artist to come up with the best colors and tricks to Phenomenal Foundation - for this fair-skinned girl - I've never received so many compliments on my skin in my life. Phenomenal Foundation has the silicone element in the formulation, which fills in the minute cracks, crevices and pits on our otherwise smooth visage - and makes it more light reflective. Couple this with good slip, coverage and no chalky cakey residue, and you have an excellent winter foundation. I find it too heavy for the humid summer months, but it is my go-to in the arid winter climate. What else do I love? Liquid Candle Glow - a TERRIFIC luminizer. WAAAY better than Benefit High Beam - not pinky, but more rose-gold, fluid, sheer, and adds that right amount of pearlescence to change a flat hue on your face into a dewy one. LOVE THIS - worth every penny. Like the eye concealer/spackle/lip base triplex too - handy, like Benefit's REalness of COncealness camouflaging palette. I like Laura Geller. I loved watching her on QVC. Here is a makeup artist that is working hard to make women pretty!

Since I am interested and use mineral makeup, I thought that your best post was the Revlon Mineral Colorstay makeup. I appreciated the fact that it is reasonable and that there is a forthcoming $2.00 coupon as well.

Thanks for the giveaway!!!

I loved how you mentioned about the Laura Mercier online sale. I'm such a huge fan of her makeup, and promptly took advantage of those great deals on her site!

Me too! Weren't they a steal? The sale is still on. They keep adding products, so check that site now and then.

Thanks!
