Diorskin Nude Air Glowing Gardens Illuminating Powder in Glowing Pink for Spring 2016

When Dior says "limited edition," they really mean it. At every store where I have asked, I was told they received three of each limited-edition item in the collection. Three! That's exclusive, but crazy. They are leaving money on the table. I went last weekend to the Dior counter at Neiman Marcus at Mazza Gallerie and purchased the last Glowing Pink Illuminating Powder ($58) they had. The gold one on display had already sold out.

To describe the full collection, Dior offered this...
Dior cultivates the art of a beautiful glow in what are now considered must-haves, inspired by the techniques of professional makeup artists and the products they use backstage, like Lip Glow, the Colour Reviver Lip Balm. This spring, Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, reinterprets the art of a gorgeous glow with a luminous makeup collection that teams new Backstage Pros essentials with eyeshadows and lipsticks in colours inspired by the flower gardens of Granville.

If I had had unlimited resources, I would have come away with more from the collection. There is a beautiful eye shadow and liner duo. I forced myself to select only one piece, and this was it.

The compact comes with the kabuki brush shown above. The two pieces sit in a moulded plastic case inside the blue Dior box. I took my photos for this feature in full, frigid sun.

The powder itself is not as pink as it appears on Dior's Web site. That's one reason why I really love it. There is a lot of beige in Glowing Pink.

On my skin in full sun, the powder does show its girly pink face, and it sparkles a tiny bit. However, inside, it looks like a beautiful sheen on my skin. I applied it heavily with a sponge-tipped applicator to take the swatch photo below. If you apply it softly with a powder brush, you will achieve a beautiful pink glow.

I think this powder is stunning. If you are interested in it, call before you go to a store. Most of them have sold out. I see it on Dior's Web site, but it's shown as "momentarily unavailable." I have no idea whether that means they intend to produce more of it, or whether that's French for sold out.

If you like a glowing pink finish on your skin, you really should try to find it. I think you will love the  gorgeous glow it provides.

Thank you for the review and beautiful photo. This really looks stunning. May I ask which eye shadow and liner duo you were tempted by? Thanks.

Sure, Anne. #557 Twig combo was my favorite.

I love these special powder illuminators for the beauty of the product alone! But I realize I wouldn't truly use them very often. And my trusty Bobbi Browm Shimmerbrick does the trick.

MamaVal, I too love Shimmer Bricks. I think I have them all. Once a Bobbi gal, always a Bobbi gal?

This looks fabulous on your skin.
Thanks,

This is unbelievably stunning. I had picked up the nude glow last week and oh my, how stunning it is! I turned around and hunted down the pink glow and ordered that along with the blush as well. That blush has a gorgeous soft sheen to it. Dior really did a fantastic job with the spring collection!

You were lucky, indeed, to scoop up this beauty. I was at the counter admiring it when I had to take an important call. I should have told the SA to put it aside for me because when I went back to the counter about 15-20 minutes later, one of the other SAs had just sold the last one. You snooze, you loose! LOL. She offered to order it for me but 001 (the pink) was on back order and was not expected to arrive until mid-February. I declined since I didn't feel like waiting a month to possibly get it. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had the experience of back ordering something which never arrives. In any event, to all of you who were able to get it, congratulations. It is gorgeous. And, I love the texture and finish. It reminds me of Estée Lauder's gelée formula--so smooth, silky, and evenly pigmented. Lovely! As for Bobbi's shimmer bricks, they've kind of fallen out of favor with me as I think there are other formulas out there that are smoother, more refined, and better suited to my skin type; formulas such as Clé de Peau's illuminating powders. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with shimmer bricks, and I used to have several of them, it's just that they no longer appeal to me.

Lisa, I hope you get it. The product specialists told me it was Dior, not Neiman Marcus controlling the quantities. I wouldn't run a business like that. Create demand you won't satisfy? Call everywhere to try to find one.

Eileen, I would have been furious! If you shop there regularly, tell that woman to find you one, even if she has to make a 100 phone calls. I would be so angry. Back order probably means you'll never see it, but someone has to have one left.

It is very much like the EL, but it's not a gel. Good comparison!

I'm going to try to call Dior PR to find out what gives.

Oh the run around. I think many of us played this game, but in the end, I love these highlighters. I bought them both. They are waiting for me on my desk.
I trust your opinion and know that I'll love the pink. Hopefully the nude will work also. If not, I am sure one of my girlfriends will be able to give it the love it deserves :)

I have to share this feel good moment with all of you. My very favorite SA was able to track the Pink 001 down for me but not at Nordstrom. She bought it with her own money and had it shipped to my address. She called and said I could pay her back the next time I dropped by the La Mer counter. How's that for trust and service! I think I need to do much more than just pay her back. She's extraordinary!

Which one is superior/prettier in your opinion, between the Dior Glowing Pink vs. Clé de Peau Beauté Luminizing Face Enhancer (Pastel/Delicate Pink)? Would love to know how they compare, thanks!

Anya, I think it's a personal preference thing. I prefer the Dior for its sheen and price.
