Happy Independence Day!

Happy Independence Day! I try to remember that our Fourth of July holiday isn't just about cookouts, fireworks, friends, and family. We commemorate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, on July 4, 1776, from the Kingdom of Great Britain - today one of our greatest allies and best world friends.

"If the American Revolution had produced nothing but the Declaration of Independence, it would have been worthwhile." — Samuel Eliot Morison, American historian (1887-1976).

The United States of America - and the freedom we hold dear - has been threatened by wars and terrorism. Today we celebrate our freedom and recommit to protecting the freedom of others who would live our dream. Think about it. It's a remarkable day.

I hope you have a beautiful day!

Amen to that! Thank you for sharing such important insights about America. It's easy to take what we have for granted here, but our nation's history is truly remarkable and I appreciate the reminder.

Have a beautiful weekend!

Thank you for saying, "Happy Independence Day" instead of "Happy 4th of July". That is a big pet peeve of mine. We don't say, "Happy 31st of October" or "Happy 25th of December". Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox now. ;)
I love this Holiday! There is so much we take for granted. America isn't perfect but we are truly blessed to be living here.
Happy Independence Day to all!!

Thank you, Beauty Professor!

Despite our political differences, we pull together when needed. That makes our country great...and worth celebrating.

Happy Independence Day!

Oh, Sony! Oh, Charlestongirl! I'm going to exercise my right to free speech and wish you both a Happy Fourth of July! LOL The fourth has always stuck in my mind perhaps because my birthday is in July :-) No matter what we call it, though, it is a great and wonderful day to be sure. I take a few moments every day to count my blessings but celebrating today with friends and family reinforces the knowledge that many of those blessings were made possible because I am an American. So, thank you, US of A, and Happy Birthday!

Oops! Sorry Soni. Autospell got the better of me with that "Sony". I should have proofread.
