Some people, myself included, have dry lips all year round. We are always on the lookout for a hydrating lip product with longevity. I've found a new one in the Genuine Glow Collection! Estée Lauder Genuine Glow Reviving Oil Lip Tint ($20) is so popular, it keeps selling out on Estée Lauder's Web site. I had to wait weeks on "backorder" for mine.
This lovely tint give your lips just-kissed cherry color, along with just-right, oil-rich moisture replenishment. It feels nourishing yet light on the lips.
The cheery shade is a universal sheer shade that glows well with any skin tone. The pen dispenses just the right amount of product too. I love no-waste packaging. Just twist the pen a few times to prime it - until the lip tint comes up, and then apply it directly to your lips.
When this color is added to my own lip color, the result is a saturated, but sheer, cherry red. I'm thrilled with it. I took this photo in full, noon sun, so the color was a bit washed out by all the light.
You can use it alone, as I do, for a unique, glowing, rosy lip or over or under your lip color for a fuller, glossier lip.
You can try to order it at the Estée Lauder's Web site and wait, or you can look for it at one of the many Estée Lauder's counters. It's worth the hunt.

Jouer Tint in Honeysuckle - A New Shade
During Jouer's recent sale, I purchased a new shade of Tint: Honeysuckle ($20). How could I not with the name Honeysuckle? No matter that I've never seen honeysuckle in this sheer peach shade. I love the name because I love the sweetly fragranced plant.
Honeysuckle is definitely trendy for the spring/summer season. Peach is so "in." This peach is about as pure as it gets - pastel and pretty.
As named, it is a tint - for cheeks or lips. Had I applied it for a swatch photo by blending it with my skin, the photo would have have shown little of its native color - just a pretty peach glow. So, I applied it to my arm with my fingertip and did not blend it at all. It may look a little gloppy on my arm, but I assure you it blends easily and beautifully to become an extension of you, ready for summer. I took my swatch photos in full sun.
This peach is warm. I don't see a hint of pink in it. My cheeks and lips add a touch of peach, making the shade lovely on my skin. When your clothing calls for peach or coral (purple, for example), it's perfect. A very long time ago, I discussed with a makeup artist how bad pink or rose lip and cheek colors can look with rich purple, the color I was wearing that day. Although I knew that intuitively, I had never heard an artist express the need for brown or peachy shades to complement the deep amethyst tone.
This cream is very creamy, yet it sets perfectly to last on my cheeks all day. In the short time I've had it, I've grown fond of it and hope to purchase another of the 10 shades available. At times like this, I really wish Jouer had a physical presence in the DC area. I can imagine having a blast at the counter.
If you have any allergies, you can see the ingredients at the Jouer Web site. When you read them, you will see many hydrators. If your skin is dry, you'll appreciate the moisture boost.
You can find Jouer's beautiful products at the company's Web site and Henri Bendel (also Skin 6|2 in Las Vegas). Jouer also has an active presence on Facebook, so you may want to like their page to get all the news - and know when the next sale is announced.

Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint Trio
Tarte LipSurgence Lip Tint ($24) is a hybrid between a stain, a gloss, and a rich balm. LipSurgence Lip Tint delivers nondrying, sheer color while keeping the lips hydrated and refreshed. This award-winning tint is goof-proof - it goes on like a lip gloss, stays on like a stain, and hydrates like a dreamy balm.
The proprietary formula effectively increases the skin’s water content for a plumped appearance and a refreshing hint of mint. The result? Naturally fuller, rich lips without any irritation or stinging. The easy-to-use twist-up container eliminates the need for sharpeners.
There was a momentary break in today's cloud cover, and I was ready. The Lip Tints were in my pocket, and my only challenge was to keep the tubes from blowing around in the wind. Success! The photo above shows Charmed, Enchanted, and Joy from left to right.
I was able to snap a few swatch photos before the clouds ruined my sun spots. I applied the lip tints straight from their handy, colored tubes.
Charmed is shown at the top or my arm. It's a pretty pink with enough color to show on my lips. The rose Enchanted is my favorite. It's one of those "my lips but better" shades.
Joy is orange. Tarte calls it peach. Normally, it wouldn't catch my eye, but today I tried applying it over Enchanted, and the result was a color better than either of them alone! Joy deepens the rose, adding a touch of warmth. I had one of those "wow" moments!
These lovely LipSurgence Lip Tints feel great on my lips. The hydrating feel lasts. It's not a momentary flash - what I find with some lip colors marketed as hydrating. The minty taste is light and goes away quickly. That's why I'm OK with it, even though I'm not fond of flavor in my lip products. As I'm sure you know, Tarte products are cruelty-free and contain no nasty stuff to ingest. I think my next purchase will be Moody, a deep berry shade.
You can find Tarte's LipSurgence Lip Tints at Tarte, Sephora, and Ulta. Each retailer seems to have a different set of shades. These three are available at Tarte, although I don't see the trio special anymore.
Remember that little star magnolia bud I showed you last week? It's still struggling to open, but the snow and cold weather have keep it safely protected. Nature will not be denied, and I noticed today that it's starting to open. I snapped a photo under cloud cover. It closes this feature below. Why? Because makeup reminds me of nature's beauty.

Fresh Sugar Coral Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15
Fresh Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Sugar Coral ($22.50) is the latest shade in a series of super-hits from Fresh. Currently exclusive to Sephora, the tropical Sugar Coral was described by Alina Roytberg, Fresh Co-Founder.
This was inspired by a trip to a remote island in the Bahamas: the fresh morning breeze, alfresco lunches of exotic fruit, and snorkeling with bright fish around the reddish-orange coral reef. Sun, sea, and the spirit of vacation: that's Sugar Coral.
Fresh's Tinted Lip Treatments moisturize, protect, and smooth the lips while adding a sheer tint of color. I've bought every shade ever introduced - some in multiples. I always have one within reach. No wonder they are so moisturizing. In-vivo testing has shown that Tinted Lip Treatment will keep your lips hydrated for up to six hours after application.
Treat your lips to a juicy coral color with this tint that provides sheer coverage or buildable color. Sugar, a natural humectant, ensures long-lasting moisture, while meadowfoam hydrates and the oil of black currant seeds conditions the lips. It is further enriched with antioxidant-rich vitamins to defend against wrinkle-causing free radicals and provides year-round protection from damaging UV rays.
If you've used this tinted balm, you know how nice it is. Let's look at the color of Sugar Coral. Isn't it gorgeous? Not too orange, not too pink, Sugar Coral is the "shade of the moment," a sheer dark peach in a coral case. It's warm, sunny, and energizing.
You know that your finger pad is the best place to test lip products (and keep your lips germ-free)? It's closer in color to your lip color than your arm. While my finger may look very pale in the photo above, it is darker than my arm - trust me.
Isn't Sugar Coral luscious? I may live in it this summer, especially when I know I'll be outdoors. I love sheer colors that are good for me. Want one? You'll find it at Sephora, where there's an in-store V.I.B. preview event (with a 15% discount) today (featuring special goodies). The discount for V.I.B.s continues until April 6. Remember to look for Sugar Coral if you go.
