Weekend Stroll around the Internet - February 4

Let's spend some time with all things beautiful, starting with the Hellebore blooms in my garden. The brave flowers, nodding in the cold, signal life in mid-winter. Turning to another beautiful subject, I took a quick trip around beauty land today. Let's retrace my steps.

I'm a huge Shiseido fan. It was nice to see The Non-Blonde feature Shiseido's Makeup Accentuating Color Stick. If you haven't discovered the joys of Shiseido, where have you been?

The Beauty Look Book has me drooling over Sunday Riley makeup. Check out the blushes she bought, and see if you can resist. I'm about to cave and call Barneys in New York.

Who doesn't love Tina Fey? She's been glowing on the red carpet. Fab over Forty had the scoop on her Votre Vu look at the 2012 SAG Awards.

Daly Beauty showed swatches of Benefit's Sun Beam. I haven't had time to photograph mine, so head over to see her "skylight" swatch. What a beauty!

DivaDebbi continued her series, Rules of Beauty Civility: Nail Salons. It's a must-read.

Turquoise blue nails, anyone? You have to see butter LONDON Slapper at Product Girl.

Gouldylox Reviews found a favorite new product for her parched lips. It could become mine too.

Today, Messy Wands published the comparison photos you've all wanted to see: NARS Gaiety vs. Dior Rosy Glow.

Interested in the winner of the 2012 Indie Fragrance FiFi Award? Eyeliner on a Cat has the news.

Olfactoria's Travels featured a new-to-Luckyscent fragrance line: Neela Vermeire Créations. I got the samples, but haven't had time to write a cogent feature. My favorite is Bombay Bling. Read the notes to see which one you might like.

Fruity Lashes featured a lipstick that I must have. Rouge Terrybly Shimmer in Kiss Me Quick looks gorgeous!

I never tire of seeing Edward Bess swatches. Time4Beauty posted stunning photos of Eternal Passion Ultra Slick Lipstick.

See you tomorrow! I hope you have a nice Saturday evening.

No one empties my wallet faster than you CG! Just his Sephora and breathed a sigh of relief that the "self adjusting" Dior blush you wrote about earlier has not hit the shelves.

Thanks for including my blog on The Rules of Beauty Civility. I would love to know how you or your readers would have handled this situation. I'm no shrinking violet, but I have yet to speak up directly to the person egregiously destroying everyone's beauty zen around them...

Debbie, I got my Dior blush online. I can barely stand to go to the Sephora store, with mall parking and all that dirty makeup in there. That said, I may need to go there today. I'm steeling myself up for the thought.

Readers will probably comment directly on your Civility feature. :) I love the series!!

Charlestongirl,

I just have to tell you that I love your blog SO VERY MUCH. You are a one of the reasons that I started beauty blogging-- because I was so inspired by your blog(and continue to be).

Your swatches and description of that gorgeous new Dior blush has my head spinning.

I know what you mean about the Sunday Riley makeup! I have been using her skincare line for a few years now and have been using her makeup since last November. Her products are my one serious weakness! I spend WAY too much, but now have managed to find away to justify it "because of the blog!"

Your coverage of Rouge Bunny Rouge sent me back to Zuneta for several additional orders, and now that they have added the two new matte shades in Bashful Flamingo and Sweet Dust Seriema I am considering another order!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hi Lola!

Thank you so much! What a sweet compliment! Good luck with your blog.

I ordered Sunday Riley makeup last night. Went to Barney's online. They didn't have all the colors I might have ordered, but I got enough to start. Heaven help me...another makeup brand!

Don't you love RBR?

Hi Charlestongirl,

Well, it's all true! That's for the encouragement with my blog- I'm still sort of in the honeymoon phase and need to remember that I actually have lots of work to do unrelated to the blog!

I'm so glad that you ordered some Sunday Riley goodies- I can't wait for your reviews/swatches! I know what you mean about adding another makeup brand. I have been resisting the charms of Edward Bess for that very reason, but once went into Neiman's and swatched- I knew it was all over. Now that Sephora has EB I can safely say that I'm in trouble!

RBR is simply DIVINE!! It's probably a blessing that it's not more readily available in the States-- if I were able to see everything in person I would probably end up going broke!

Have a lovely week,
Lola
