Billed as a sheer, brightening cheek-and-lip color for instant lift, shape, and pop, this stick of thee colors emerges from the tube when you turn the little wheel in the base. I couldn't imagine how it would look on my skin until I applied it. What I got was even color - and a magnificent color. It was magic.
Having a beauty emergency? Call Fine-One-One! This lip-and-cheek illuminator glides on sheer in three different shades for a coral pink flush that builds from soft and natural to bright and cheery.
I didn't get three distinct stripes of color, as I expected, and there was no need to blend. The result of swiping on Fine One One is a homogeneous, luscious, peach highlighting blush that drips with juicy color.
Take a look at the color in full sun! Is it gorgeous or what? I applied it without any attempt to blend the shades. I simply ran it against my arm. What you see is what resulted. You can blend it after application with your fingertips or a cream blush brush. The edges blend out easily because it's creamy and light.
I actually want another one so that I can carry it with me in my handbag. What a perfect pick-me-up shade! Fine One One is one of the most pleasant surprises I've had in months. Who knew?
You can find this treasure at Sephora, where I purchased mine. It is already out of stock at Benefit, so hurry if you want one. I'm off to order my second.

well, i want one:)
Hi vivien-zsofia,
I think you're going to love it!
What a pleasant surprise! I was expecting those silly stripes after seeing so many of the drugstore brand eyeshadows with their maladroit attempt to create a contoured effect. This blusher is very pretty.
Interesting! I wonder how it would work on the lips. I just saw this a couple days ago and wondered what the heck it was. So thanks for the post :) Denise - aeiokid at comcast dot net
Me too, Eileen. I had no idea how it was going to work.
Hi Denise,
On lips, to get the same juicy color, just roll the surface around on your lips (sort of up and down). You can try to angle only the edges to get those colors, but you'll never get only the center color. :)
I want one, too. But what is a creme blush brush? Do you have a pic of one? Who makes one? I have always just used my fingers.
Here is one you might like, Nemo: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/laura-mercier-creme-blush-brush/2841277?cm_cat=datafeed&cm_ite=laura_mercier_creme_blush_brush:132077&cm_pla=personal_care_accessories:women:makeup_application&cm_ven=Google_Product_Ads&mr:ad=12528041873&mr:adType=pla&mr:filter=23001212753&mr:keyword=&mr:match=&mr:referralID=NA&mr:trackingCode=B66CB85F-BE28-E011-AB84-001517B1882A&origin=pla.
They are usually synthetic.
I've been really interested in this and had wondered how it worked. I expected to see 3 distinct colors that would need to be blended, and I am pleasantly surprised. I think I will order.
This is being released in Oz on Feb 2, at double the price of course! I wonder about it's staying power? Do you know if it slips and slides CG?
I saw the Benefit girls (well, the next generation!) demo this on HSN tv and it looked super-easy to use and very pretty on everyone, regardless of skin tone. Nice!
Hi Nemo,
You can also use a stippling brush with cream blushes.
I saw this recently in Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada and thought it looked interesting, didnt have time to really check it out. One thing with Benefit is that they make some unusual products some terrific, othr not so great, but definitely interesting. I have a couple of their boxed powders and they are fantastic, excited to receive the glosses ( I won here on this blog!)thanks!!as I think they are a match with some? Not sure but anyway I really like Hervana, good for natural look on fair skin. Not to crazy about their concealer and a product called Lemonaid designed to brighten eye area. They are just too thick. One thing I enjoy with Benefit is they release kits with little sizes so you can try several products for about the cost of one. Some people complain about the small size for the $ but I think its great as you arent spending a lot on any one item that you may not like, we have all done that many times!!
Me too, Brenda. I was very surprised at how nicely it blended on application. I don't really understand it. :)
Not on me, Christy, but my skin is dry and it has foundation to bind to.
Hi MamaVal,
I never watch that channel. Actually, I don't think I can since I don't have cable. I would love to have seen that.
Hi Eileen,
I was trying to keep is simple. :)
I actually use an Armani brush that can handle cream and powder. Wonderful brush!
Hi angusmum1!
I like those kits too. I have never worn the concealer. When you have Chantecaille and Armani, who needs it? :)
Hi Charlestongirl,
Are you referring to the Armani blender brush? That's got to be one of the greatest brushes ever made--all that dense, ultra soft sable goodness! It does so many things really well.
Did you try it on your lips as well? Temptilia hated this product. I always wonder how it is possible that the one really loves and raves a product and the other one totally hates it? Who to believe? But I must say I rarely read a negatief review on your blog do you just love everything :-)? Thanks in advance.
I LOVE the color, but I have read a lot of conflicting reports on the texture. I never really liked cream-to-powder blushes to begin with, so I might have to play with these in-store before making any drastic decisions :P
Hi Nawi,
Sure. I have it on my lips now, in fact. It's not as pretty on the lips as it is on the cheeks, but it feels good and adds a nice pink color. I did not stress lip wear because there are far better options for lip color.
I did not read Christine's review, but I am sure she gave you her honest opinion. You know, I assume, that we are decades different in age? That may explain some of our biases. :)
I have posted negative reviews (most recently Andy Warhol lip gloss set - mostly to warn people), but I don't like to do that. This blog is called Best Things in Beauty, and it's my goal to cover the best and leave the rest for others. I buy carefully and show readers my faves. There is no joy in writing up negative reviews, particularly when the product may be wrong for me, but great for someone else.
I also turn down a lot of products that are offered to me for review. First, I don't have time to test them all, but second, I feel that my readers just won't be interested in some obscure products. There is a danger in that because today's obscure product may be tomorrow's super-hit. In the end, I hope for balance.
Becca, I don't have time for a log of blog reading. What's up with the texture?
Hi Eileen,
Absolutely. That brush from Armani is one of the best ever.
Thanks so much for answering Charleston I do understand what you are saying but for make up junkies like myself is does come in handy when not all products are must haves and super great do you understand what I trying to say because there is so much out there we must stay very critical to avoid going totally broke :-) Have a nice day.
Thanks, Nawi.
I remember seeing this when it arrived in Sephora and loving it! I couldn't justify getting it back then since I hardly wear blushes, but I'm thinking I might go back and get it! The color is so flattering.
Hi Paintedlady!
You don't wear blush? I'm reminded of Bobbi Brown's advice. People are always nicer to you when you wear blush.
wow looks amazing
The shade is gorgeous I think blusher really gives you the healthy glow look
If you ever need anyone to review products I am always available am a beauty junkie lol
Oh I LOVE this!! Must get- it's so cheery and bright! Lovely with your skin tone, too.
