I was walking past the Trish McEvoy counter at Neiman Marcus recently and saw a new makeup display with Irresistible Lip Gloss ($25) on it. The gloss caught my eye, so I swatched it and found I liked it. It came home with me.
I have since learned that the gloss I purchased isn't new. Apparently, as I've experienced with Dior, it was placed in the display by a rep who didn't have the new gloss, so she stuck anything she had in the new display. That always annoys me, but my annoyance is ameliorated by how pretty Irresistible is.
Here's a swatch photo to show you this beautiful brown. My photo was taken in full sun and shows the shade in all its sparkling glory. The sparking is persistent. It lasts longer than the color. The color itself is long-lasting for a gloss. As you can see above, the applicator is a brush.
The formula, called shimmering by Trish McEvoy, but sparkling by me, combines brilliant points-of-light and high shine for the illusion of fuller lips. It's also hydrating, making my lips feel moist when I wear it.
There is a whole line of Trish Irresistible Lip Glosses. This Irresistible Gloss shade is called Irresistible. A little confusing, but worth a look if you like brown glosses with stunning micro-sparklies.

Trish McEvoy Rose Gold Luminous Eye Shadow from the Resort 2012 Collection
Last week, I introduced Trish McEvoy's Resort 2012 Collection. Characterized by intense definition paired with a palette of warm sand-dune shadows, ocean-blue liner, and shimmering coral looks, the Resort Collection is as colorful as a Caribbean holiday in February.I wasted no time in purchasing the Rose Gold Luminous Eye Shadow ($25) from the collection. This lustrous, luxuriously creamy, pigment-rich shadow offers pure luminous color with a velvety soft application for a smooth highlighting, contouring, and non-fading finish. Trish McEvoy's Luminous Eye Shadows are long-wearing, crease-resistant, and color-true. They can be applied dry or wet (I like dry) and sheer or layered, allowing you to control the color intensity and definition.
As a rose gold "collector" (I wear them too), I was thrilled to see that there was a new Rose Gold shade in the resort collection. I forgot (when I asked my sales associate at Neiman Marcus to purchase it for me) that it would come in a plastic container and was designed to be inserted into one of Trish's Makeup Planner Pages. I can't be bothered with those Planner Pages, so I'll keep it in the clear plastic in which it was supplied.
If you're also a rose gold groupie, you need this eye shadow. It's available at Trish McEvoy counters (for example, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Bluemercury) and at the Trish McEvoy Web site.

Trish McEvoy Mulberry SPF 15 Lip Color
There it was on the latest Trish McEvoy display at Neiman Marcus, tempting me with its sheer color. I wanted Mulberry SPF 15 Lip Color ($23) the moment I saw it. Easier said than done, I found. Mulberry had sold out instantly. It's even back ordered on Trish McEvoy's Web site. Then I learned that I could acquire Mulberry in the Trish's Timeless Beauty Ready-to-Wear Makeup Planner Collection, a Neiman Marcus exclusive. The collection is really nice, so I bought Timeless Beauty. That's how I came to own the hard-to-get Mulberry.
From Trish McEvoy's Chic and Sheer Collection, Mulberry is the perfect fall color to protect, condition and color to your lips. As you can see in my swatches below, it's a very sheer shade, so don't let the dark color in the tube mislead you.
Mulberry reminds me of Clinique's Black Honey, but it's much more pink in color than Black Honey. I thought of Black Honey because Mulberry offers the same sheer, enormously flattering type of natural color that I love. Yikes - that's two "flattering" words in one feature. Now I want a second one. Where am I going to get it?
Definitely check out your favorite Trish McEvoy counter for Mulberry. Or consider the Neiman Marcus exclusive planner. It's gorgeous. I'll show you the rest of the planner when the sun returns.

Trish McEvoy Beauty Emergency Card for Eyes
The Beauty Emergency Card for Eyes includes one base shadow, one highlighting shadow, four crease/lid shadows, one eye definer, and one eye definer/brow shaper for beautifully defined eyes.
Here are the shades in the palette. The first four shades are those on the top row of the palette shown above, left to right, and the second four are those on the lower row, left to right.
I swatched them all this afternoon when I got home from work. The light was fading, making my photos darker than usual. I haven't figured out what I'm going to do about swatches when daylight savings time ends and it's almost dark when I get home. I may have to solve my indoor photo dilemma. Each shade was applied with a sponge-tipped applicator. Here are the shades in the palette. The first four shades are those on the top row of the palette shown above, left to right, and the second four are those on the lower row, left to right.
- Deep Aubergine Eye Definer
- Peach Shell Eye Shadow
- Sugar Plum Glaze Eye Shadow
- Gilded Bronze Glaze Eye Shadow
- Rose Quartz Glaze Eye Shadow
- White Peach Glaze Eye Shadow
- Gilded Taupe Glaze Eye Shadow
The Deep Aubergine Eye Definer at the top of the photo at right is a pretty eyeliner on me. You really can't see the Peach Shell Eye Shadow on my arm; it blends right in. Below that is Sugar Plum Glaze Eye Shadow. I really like the sheen of the Glaze formula. It shimmers, but very subtly. Gilded Bronze Glaze Eye Shadow is at the bottom of this photo. Great color! I am using this on my entire lo
The photo at left shows the "lower level" of the palette. The Brow Definer in Natural looks almost camel applied it on my arm, but it's a great shadow to fill in the brows. It adds very natural definition - for me. I have friends for whom this shade wouldn't work (it's too light for those with very dark brows, but it's perfect on me).
Rose Quartz Glaze Eye Shadow is shown second from top at left, followed by White Peach Glaze Eye Shadow. White Peach is a gorgeous lid color - striking alone or set off by a darker shade in the outer corner.
My favorite shade in the palette is at the bottom: the new Gilded Taupe Glaze Eye Shadow. I'm a taupe fanatic, buying every nice taupe that comes along, and I would have purchased this palette for Gilded Taupe alone. I've been wearing it in the outer corner and outer crease, and I love its look. I apply it using Loyd Cassler's trick. After picking up the shadow with your brush, apply it on the outer corner of the lid, starting right above the crease and using downward strokes to the lashes. Start at the outside and take the color in as far as you wish. The technique gives you the same results you would get by painting a "sideways V" with the point toward your hairline, but it's faster.
Trish McEvoy offers another very pretty palette (a duo) that also includes Gilded Taupe. It's the Gilded Eye Palette ($32), and it includes Gilded Lily, which provides a pretty wash to the eyelid. Nice palette! You can purchase each shade alone (you save nothing by purchasing the duo), but why not pair them?
I purchased my Beauty Emergency Card for Eyes at Neiman Marcus at Tysons Galleria. You can find it at Nordstrom and Saks too. It's widely available online. At the Neiman Marcus Web site, use the code OCTSHIP for free shipping. The Trish McEvoy site offers free shipping and a gift with purchases of $50 or more.
What do you think? Do you like it?

I took a lot of photos to show you the shades in this set. This photo taken in indirect light gave the truest look to the shades, even though my arm looks off-color. I did prime my arm with a tiny layer of foundation. These are the shades shown top to bottom on my arm.

- New Warming Brightening Quad (all shades blended on brush and applied)
- New Glaze Eyeshadows in Gilded Taupe and Gilded Lily (both glazed)

Trish McEvoy 24-Hour Eye Shadow & Liner from the Capri Collection
What impressed me the most - after the pretty colors, of course - was how quickly the shadow sets, drying to a non-creasing, extremely long-wearing, and even finish. This shadow isn't going anywhere once it sets, which is probably why it's named "24-Hour." After it dries, you can wipe across it vigorously with a tissue, and it doesn't budge. The sales associate told me that you have to remove it with an eye makeup remover that has some oil in it. She wasn't kidding! Cleanser and water don't touch it. I have used Bobbi Brown's Instant Long-Wear Makeup Remover to get it off my eyelids. How perfect for this time of year when so many women have a hard time keeping shadow in place all day!
I love the convenience of this shadow and definer in its easy-to-use, elegant twist pen. I can wear it on my lid from lashes up to the crease, and it looks stunning. I prefer a slimmer line for my eyeliner, so I doubt I will use this cream as a liner, but I love it as an eye shadow. I haven't tried applying it with a thin liner brush yet - may do that next.
To use it, according to the company, glide 24-Hour along the lash line and smudge or blend with Trish's Laydown or Precision Smudge Brush (or your own brush or finger), depending on your desired effect. Just do it quickly. Wear it along the lash line, over the eyelid (my preference), or blend it into the crease of the eye.
There are
more great items in the Capri Collection! There are two extremely pretty highlighters. Highlights All Over Face Color ($35 without the compact) comes in two shades: London (light pink) and Capri (light bronze). I would have purchased one of these if I hadn't purchased similar Clarins cream highlighters earlier this season. You can purchase the Capri Collection at the Trish McEvoy Web site (where there is free shipping on any $50 order) and at Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Saks. Until midnight June 14, Neiman Marcus is offering free shipping, no matter how small your purchase, with code NMSHOP.

Trish McEvoy's New Lip Colors
Trish McEvoy has three new lip colors in her Gorgeous Lip Color Collection. My favorite by far is Gorgeous Blackberry ($25.00), shown here. It appears dark in the tube, but is a beautifully transparent mauve-berry lipstick that will work with most skin tones. The other two colors are Gorgeous Violet, a blue-pink, and Gorgeous Red, a wearable red - not too flashy. The violet and red shades are quite pigmented, and to my eye, the lighter shade, Gorgeous Violet, is more pigmented than Gorgeous Red.Trish McEvoy describes these lipsticks as adjustable shades. I didn't experience that. They are what they are. Nicely conditioning lip shades - at least one color for every preference.
The blackberry shade is a nice addition to my Trish McEvoy Glaze Lip Colors ($22). Among my all-time favorite lipsticks is Sparkling Plum, a moisturizing, shimmering plum in the same color family as Gorgeous Blackberry. There may be a theme here!
I found the new lipsticks at Neiman Marcus. You can purchase them there, online at Trish McEvoy's Web site, and at Saks, Nordstrom, and other department stores.
