Chanel Frisson Le Vernis Nail Colour from Roses Ultimes de Chanel for Spring 2012

Chanel introduced four limited-edition "classic and trend-defining shades" of Les Vernis nail color - straight from the runways of Paris - with the Roses Ultimes de Chanel Collection for Spring 2012. The new Les Vernis shades are Attraction, Frisson, Distraction, and Tentation. I selected #543, Frisson.

This baby pink shade is an office-friendly color. Other than being a pink shade that defines spring, it's not really trend-setting. That's its attraction. It's a shade we can wear every day to have beautiful hands without drama - hands that won't scream fashion victim. I'm enormously happy I selected it. It may turn out to be one of my top spring nail colors. I found a salon that can apply it far better than I can, so I'll be wearing it often.

I applied three coats of Frisson to the color wheel and took my photos in full sun. With the first coat, I saw a very sheer light pink. With each additional coat, the color became more intense. I could have stopped at two coats, but I wanted to see how three would look. I love this color! It is not particularly sparkly. I'd call the finish pearly. It does reflect light nicely, as you can see in my full-sun photos. It's feminine and pretty.

Frisson is part of the Infatuation collection within the Roses Ultimes de Chanel Collection. Infatuation is characterized by soft, sweet pinks. There are two lip Lèvres Scintillantes Glossimers teamed with Frisson, Surprise and Plaisir. They complement one another beautifully.

The other shades in the Roses Ultimes de Chanel Collection for spring present a range of colors, from all-consuming corals in the Devotion grouping to vibrant fuchsias in the Passion grouping. The Les Vernis shade Distraction belongs with Devotion, while Tentation, a brilliant fuchsia-rose, joins my favorite new Chanel glosses, Jalousie and Désir, in Passion.

I'm sure I don't have to tell you that Les Vernis offers a state-of-the-art formula that strengthens and moisturizes the nails as it delivers long-wearing, high-shine, chip-resistant color. It applies evenly without streaking, a plus for klutzes like me.

I bought Frisson at Chanel.com, where all of the spring items are available, and you can enjoy free shipping with your $100 purchase. My spring colors were sent in a wonderful black Chanel pouch. All of the Chanel counters now have the Roses Ultimes de Chanel Collection, so you won't have trouble finding the collection. My friend and Chanel rep Loyd Cassler would love to help you if you need assistance. You can find Loyd (or Georgia Marmaras) at (240) 497-5363 or (240) 497-5301 at Saks Chevy Chase.

Hey there, Dovey! That was the first thing that struck me. It's so "normal" looking. :) I mean that as a compliment.

Wow, that's a gorgeous shade, it's the perfect ballet pink color. I often find soft pinks barely show up on my nails, this looks very pigmented. I might have to pick this up!

Thanks, Vintageporcelaindoll! That is the term I was searching my brain for today: ballet pink!

Such a lovely color, fresh yet elegant. I also love the concept of matching lip glosses to nail polishes. It makes me want to get the whole collection.

love your definition "office-friendy", can't say similar in Russian

Charlestongirl said...

Hi Leigh!

There's nothing stopping you. :)

Charlestongirl said...

Time4beauty, it's just two words strung together. That can't be done in Russian and other European languages?

time4beauty said...

You can translate, but it will not sound the same, it wount sound natural. We have a word for user-friendly, for example, but it's still not a literal translation. Sometimes it just doesn't work.

e.g. we don't translate "swatch" :)

I'm wondering what color the model is wearing on her lips...so pretty!

Time4beauty That's funny, Danish doesn't work that way either :-D It just sounds strange.

The Glossimer on the right in the pic with Frisson is GORGEOUS. Will this collection be availabe in Europe? I really love the idea of matching nails and lips...and cheeks too.

Gorgeous!!

Hi Kim, one perfect word to sum up Frisson. Thanks!

Hi Ida,

Unfortunately, I don't receive any information about product availability in Europe. Best to ask your Chanel rep. I have heard from Clarisse (in France) that we always get the Chanel introductions here before she does - in France! That amazes me.

Hi Zeynep,

I haven't got a clue, but I'll try to find out. :)

I got mine the other day after seeing the pics on your blog, and it's on my nails right now. Love it! Does yours also have an almost rainbow shimmer to it?

Charlestongirl said...

Hi Nedia!

Super! It is rainbow-like with one coat and plenty of light. Very cool!

Zeynep,

My fabulous Chanel account executive provided the information on the model's lip colors.

Glossimer #166 Amour and lip liner Pink Sugar.

Ask and you shall receive!

That lip combo is also detailed in the Looks section of this collection on chanel.com. They also give suggestions for the other glossimers. Most use pink sugar l/l. :)

Hello, great nail polish! I have a question which glossimer is shown in the 4th picture?

Thanks!

I mean the 5th picture!
