The new Luminizing Satin Eye Color Trios ($33) are available. Inspired by brilliant landscapes as well as the simplest moments of daily life, the newest color additions to the Shiseido Luminizing Satin Eye Colors reflect places that have captured Page's imagination. These tri-color palettes consist of naturally contrasting and highlighting shades that brighten the eyes. The luxurious powder, with the ultimate in smooth texture, spreads evenly onto the eyelids (as smooth as silk), making it easy to apply the exact texture and color you desire with their blendable sheerness. Each shade can be worn together or separately for a wide variety of looks and effects.
The delicate luster of satin-smooth pearl provides a superb, stunning finish. Micromatic color pigment reflects light that conventional pigments would normally absorb, making it possible to create vivid, yet translucent colors. "Super Hydro-Wrap Vitalizing DE" improves dryness and roughness to give eyes a moisturized look all day long. Dual optimizing powder provides true color and a natural sheen for all-day wear.
There are three new shades of Luminizing Eye Color.
- Bouquet (VI308), a purple-violet palette inspired by the sculptural impression of a wild bouquet of flowers (shown below)
- Voyage (BR209) with colors inspired by a photograph of Shiseido model, Raquel Zimmermann, crossing the Venetian lagoon by motoscafi (how romantic - shown above right)
- Punky Blues (BL310), a cheeky, spontaneous picture taken in London representing aggressively bright colors (shown above left)
Hopefully, I've tempted you enough to make you seek out the new Shiseido trios. Wish I could show you the other two, but they don't live at my house - yet. The are available nationwide at department and specialty stores where Shiseido products are sold, beginning mid-February 2011 - although Sephora has them now. Shiseido is also available online at Macys, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Saks, Barneys, and Dillards. For more information or to find a store location near you, just visit www.sca.shiseido.com.
I've got more to show you. Stay tuned!

Shiseido's Voyage really puts the Nars Calanque to shame. The color balance is better and so is, evidently, the application and blending potential. This is one I'd definitely be interested in getting.
The new formulations with their depth of color, shimmer, and glow are so enticing. It makes me want to toss many of my oldies and replace them with these superb new ones. And, I love the translucent colors that can be built up or layered to create a custom look. LMdB really led the way with that, but Armani has embraced it, too. In the spring palette when the green and the purple combine, it produces a gorgeous evening blue color--but I digress :-). The bottom line, I'll be taking a look at Voyage the next time I'm at the mall.
Hi Eileen, I don't like to make comparisons, but yours is spot-on. The NARS Calanque trio is dreck - to be honest - total cheesy junk. What's amazing is that Shiseido owns NARS. At least they did last time I checked. Shiseido makes first-class makeup - always with qualities that make us want more. Their ownership must be "arm's length."
You know I love LMdB and Armani. I have Shiseido in the same category. Loving you Armani spring colors? Did you spring for one of those incredible dark blue outfits?
Eileen
I agree with you totally! I am completle smitten by the new eye-shadow trios by Shiseido, I bought 3 of them in winter and never regretted it: their texture is amazing, the colors stay on all day...I think I could buy all of them including these 3 new ones!!!! with Dick Page there has been a turning-point in their make-up and I like almost all their products ( I am a big fan of their skin care too)
Charlestongirl, I didn't know they owned Nars, the Nars eye-shadows are not as nice as the Shiseido ones! I don't know LMdB (just arrived in Paris) but I love ARmani and its fabulous textures and colors too! Aren't we lucky to own such make-up products?
I'm thinkining I want the purple. I used to avoid purple because of dark under eyes and some pesky veins to the sides of my eyes, but I dot care about that anymore and I love the purples!
Hi Polarbelle,
I find I can wear some purple shades, but not others. I seem to do well with the blue-toned ones. The red-toned ones make me look sick. Maybe it's my "technique." :)
Hope to share swatches of the other new items with you soon!
Hi Eleonore!
I was stunned the first time I read in WWD Beauty Biz that Shiseido owned NARS. A Web search told me they bought NARS around 10-11 years ago. What's even more stunning about Shiseido's ownership is the quality failure with Calanque. I still love my other new NARS things, but Calanque is so strange!
I totally agree with your comment on Dick Page. He has been a game changer. The man's talent is boundless!
