This new foundation in a pot is a creamy, buildable foundation that leaves the skin smooth, even-toned, and lifted. Designed for dry skin, it contains EXTRA treatment benefits to nourish and hydrate the skin. An application adds instant moisture.
EXTRA Repair Foundation SPF 25 has these properties.
- Helps rebuild the skin's protective moisture barrier
- Contains peptides to help stimulate natural collagen production, which in turn helps firm and visibly lift the skin
- Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Leaves the skin looking and feeling revitalized, dewy, and healthy
- Offers broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection from the sun's damaging rays (SPF 25)
It evened my skin tone and minimized my sun spots on the first application. I built the coverage over my sun spots to blur them. That worked nicely. When I was finished applying the foundation, I was very happy with the results. My skin was even-toned, the right color, and dewy without looking oily. Even more exciting, I didn't need to touch it up during the day! It stayed put and provided coverage on my nose and chin all day. That's pretty remarkable.
When I applied it, I smelled the distinctive scent of the EXTRA products, which include rosemary and other botanicals. The scent disappeared in a heartbeat. By the time I was in my car on the way to work, I could no longer smell the foundation. It does have retinyl palmitate in it, which makes me a little anxious. The retinyl palmitate is pretty far down on the ingredient list, so I am hoping my skin doesn't have a reaction over time. I want to keep using this foundation!
I'll give you a progress report at some point after I've had more time with it. You'll be able to find it at your Bobbi Brown counter soon.
Update April 2: This product is now available in stores. I saw it at Neiman Marcus.

I have been waiting for this one! I am Warm Ivory in BB also.:) I wonder how this would compare with Laura Mercier's creme smooth foundation? In general, Bobbi's foundations are a better match for me though, than LM's.
Hope you like it, Lucy! Look for it in about a week.
I've never work Laura Mercier foundation. The colors are "off" for me. I can wear Warm Ivory all year round, and if I want a touch-up that's darker, I use the stick in Sand (nose mostly). :)
I started wearing BB in 1996 and have never found a better foundation match than Warm Ivory in any other line. Last week I was looking through some OLD boxes and found my original BB Essentials powder eye shadows from 1996...they were still as nice as ever! Amazing!
This foundation sounds fabulous! I'm curious to check this one out!
I've only ever tried (and love!!) the Extra Eye Repair Cream from Bobbi Brown's Extra line. =D
Andrée xx
Isn't that delightful, Lucy? It's like shopping in your closet. I have found that unused color cosmetics last forever.
Definitely worth checking out, Andrée! Let us know what you think!
Hi Charlestongirl!
I think this will be my next foundation: love everything you say about it! I just wait for it to reach my favorite BB counter in Paris:-)
Clarisse, if after all this time I can "guess" your skin, I think you WILL love it. Let me know if it doesn't "appear" in France. I can get you one here.
Thank you so much, Charlestongirl! Apparently BB is very good with French customers and we all get the same products, so hopefully, it should be available at the beginning of April (and my favorite SA is a star so I can even ask him to send it to me...but I much prefer going to the BB shop in le Maris since I can see and try other things at the same time:-)
But if it doesn't reach FRance I'll let you know, thank you so much for your kind offer!
And yes your guess is right (my skin and yours are rather similar:-)
I am going to be on the lookout for this, sounds just like what I need. My skin is very dry and living in Houston I wouldn't dare go out without sunscreen. Thanks for posting about it!

oh wooow.. I haven't heard of this one before.. It sounds so amazing! I have combination skin.. I wonder if this will make me greasy..
I'm using the Bobbi Brown Extra Eye Balm.. Wrote a review on it in my blog.. It's so moisturizing.. I like it for that..
Thanks for the review =)
Lisa, some of the stores have received it, but they are holding it for a simultaneous launch. It should be about April 1, if my memory is any good. Definitely check it out; it's a friend to dry skin.
I am concerned about the retinyl, but I'm hoping my skin doesn't complain. I am beyond sensitive to the stuff. Too bad, but my dermatologist finally advised me to give up. I think there are others like me, although most develop tolerance to it. I know the aim was to put effective ingredients in it, but I would have been kicking up my heels if Bobbi had omitted that one.
Hi Delyteful!
Only way to find out will be to try it. :)
Thanks!
I'm waiting ever so impatiently...oops...patiently, for this one to arrive. It sounds amazing for evening out skin! And you can always count on Bobbi for foundation that makes skin look like SKIN!
Hi Mama Val!
Doesn't it kill you when a major magazine mentions something enticing, but you can't buy it for a month...or more?
Could you please be kind enough to post the ingredients? The foundation sounds lovely but my skin just can't tolerate anything with a high percentage of titanium dioxide so I don't want to get excited if it's not an option for me. Thank you!
Hi, I think I may have recycled the box. If I find it, I will post all the ingredients for you.
The active ingredients (sunscreen) are octinoxate 7.5%, homosalate 5%, oxybenzone 5%, and avobenzone 2%.
I just tried this at a dept store and found it tended to puff up my
acne scars. Other than that, it was
a nice coverage. However, if you
have no flaws, you are okay, but the slightest scars got puffed up
and really stand out. What a shame
because i really liked the smell
and goey creaminess for my wrinkles.
Hey guys I recently bought the foundation, but i found I better foundation that is more suitable for my skin. I can't return it because they don't give full refunds. So if anyone who lives in Vancouver BC let me know. I'm selling it for 45$. Thanks
